The only "six-star general" in our country: his wife is 100 years old, and his son is the governor and major general

Hong Xuezhi was born in 1913, a famous revolutionary general in modern China. He was born in a poor rural family in Jinzhai, Anhui Province. Like most revolutionary generals, he participated in the revolution when he was a teenager. After two months of training, he became an honorable party member. From squad leader to platoon leader, Hong Xuezhi started learning from the most basic, and he relied on himself. His abilities were promoted and he soon became the backbone of the revolutionaries.

During the Long March, Hong Xuezhi found a way to solve the difficulties when he encountered difficulties, prepared all kinds of necessities for the soldiers, helped them overcome difficulties, and saved the revolutionary fire as much as possible. During the Long March, Hong Xuezhi risked his life to cross the wet grassland three times, creating very favorable conditions for the soldiers to get out of trouble. Later, when he led the team through the snow-capped mountains, he took care of the wounded soldiers, which caused overwork and almost lost his life. Fortunately However, he received timely treatment and persevered with his tenacious will. After that, he continued to lead his soldiers to fight bravely and successfully overcome difficulties and dangers. During the War of Resistance Against Japan, he also eliminated a large number of Japanese troops and gained a huge advantage for the victory of the War of Resistance Against Japan.

After the victory of the War of Resistance Against Japan, General Hong Xuezhi was appointed as the deputy commander of 愿军 and the commander of the rear logistics work command. He also served as the director of the National Petroleum and Chemical Industry Bureau. Development and construction have made an indelible historical contribution. Due to his achievements, General Hong Xuezhi was awarded the rank of general twice in 1955 and 1988, becoming the only six-star general in China.

On November 20, 2006, General Hong Xuezhi passed away in Beijing. His children continue to contribute to the country. One of the sons becomes the governor of the province and the other becomes a major general. Both are indispensable pillars of the country. Now General Hong Xuezhi’s wife, Zhang Wen, is 100 years old and still in good health. She still leads a frugal life as in the war years. She eats nothing except simple meals. The children know that Zhang Wen likes singing, and she recommends her mother to work. She made a video disc, but she thought it was a waste of money and flatly rejected the children’s proposal.

Interestingly, Zhang Wen is very stingy with herself, but she is very generous in educating children. She donates all the salaries she saves to an elementary school. Many children can receive a good education. This quality is admirable and touching.
