After the Qing Dynasty entered the Pass, during the reign of Emperor Kangxi, he built a palace in Yanjiao, Sanhe, namely Yanjiao Xinggong, which was the first station of Jingdong. Therefore, Sanhe County had the reputation of "the palace at the feet of the emperor". Yanjiao Palace is located in Xinggong Village, Yanjiao Town. It was renamed "Dongfeng Brigade" during the Cultural Revolution and later renamed Xinggong Village.
Yanjiao Xinggong is the first palace that the Qing imperial family visited in the east of Jingdong. From Kangxi to Daoguang for more than 150 years, the Qing emperor had 11 trips to the east, 7 of which were stationed in Yanjiao Xinggong. The poet Emperor Qianlong stayed here. He wrote many poems and couplets. During the period of the Republic of China, the Yanjiao Palace was demolished in 1929, and gradually formed the Xinggong Village today. After the reform and opening up, the Palace Market was built on the site of the Yanjiao Palace.
During the Republic of China, Sanhe County had an area of more than 1,200 square kilometers, about twice the current area. After the founding of New China, in the 1950s, Lisui Town, Yang Town, Zhang Town, etc. were allocated to Shunyi, Mafang Town, Daxingzhuang Town, Yukou Town, etc. were allocated to Pinggu, Dachang Town, Xiadian Town, etc. were established as Dachang Hui Autonomous County , Sanhe County's jurisdiction has shrunk rapidly, and there have been several exchanges and adjustments with surrounding counties and districts in the following decades.
Sanhe County was merged into Ji County at the end of 1958. It was not restored until June 1962.
