Preface
Ling Fengwu went to Nanchang this time, not for anything else, but for an old friend - Fang Zhimin. Fang Zhimin was a revolutionary martyr. He sacrificed his life for the country, but his corpse was gone. It was not until recently that new discoveries were made. Ling Fengwu's trip was for this.
The one who picked up Ling Fengwu at Nanchang Railway Station was Fang Zhimin's widow Miao Min . As soon as she saw Ling Fengwu, she took him home enthusiastically and explained to him the reason for inviting him.
Ling Fengwu understood that Fang Zhimin was a revolutionary hero, and his body must be very important. Now he is the only person who may know the clues, so he will naturally do his best.
The younger brother of martyr Fang Zhimin and then vice governor of Jiangxi Province Fang Zhichun invited Ling Fengwu to come because of a note. This note linked Ling Fengwu with Fang Zhimin and Fang Zhichun. It was also because of this note that Ling Fengwu's fate changed...
Fang Zhimin was secretly killed and his body disappeared. Fang Zhimin is an excellent Communist Party member. He served as the chairman of the Red Ten Army Military and Political Committee and the secretary of the Fujian, Zhejiang and Jiangxi Provincial Committee of the Communist Party of China. Unfortunately, after being arrested, he was steadfast and unyielding. He left revolutionary works such as "Cute China" for future generations. Later, it was included in primary and secondary school textbooks, which had a profound impact on generations of children. Fang Zhimin and Chairman Mao also have a very deep friendship. Chairman Mao gave Fang Zhimin a very high evaluation, and in his "Spark of Fire, Can Start a Prairie", he praised Fang Zhimin very much.
It is heartbreaking that Comrade Fang Zhimin was only 36 years old when he died. Chairman Mao later missed Comrade Fang Zhimin many times and felt very sorry for his sacrifice. At that time, Chairman Mao also told them to take good care of Fang Zhimin's family. When Miao Min and her two children came to Yan'an, Chairman Mao met them specifically and encouraged them to live a good life and face difficulties bravely.
Comrade Fang Zhimin's departure made everyone sad. This time Ling Fengwu was invited to Nanchang, which also tells the story of Fang Zhimin's performance in prison and opened this tragic historical chapter.
In January 1935, Fang Zhimin led the army north under the order of the organization, but unexpectedly was ambushed by the Kuomintang in the middle. Due to the huge gap in strength between the enemy and us at that time, Fang Zhimin's troops fought to the death and finally failed to escape from the tiger's mouth. Fang Zhimin unfortunately fell into the hands of the Kuomintang, and was imprisoned in the Shangrao Jiangxi, Zhejiang, Fujian and Anhui Border Region Security Command.
Because Fang Zhimin's special identity, the Kuomintang decided to send him to Nanchang for safety reasons. In early February, the Kuomintang military used 4 armored vehicles and to send Fang Zhimin to the Military Law Office of the Gansu Pacification Office in Nanchang. At that time, Ling Fengwu happened to be the guardian of the Military Law Office of the Nanchang Pacification Office. He also met Fang Zhimin at this time.
Ling Fengwu knew that Fang Zhimin was an important figure, and Chiang Kai-shek also repeatedly explained that it must be taken seriously, so Ling Fengwu did not dare to be negligent at all, and the superior also assigned the task to Ling Fengwu, which was to "persuade" Fang Zhimin.
Ling Fengwu was indeed very attentive to persuade Fang Zhimin at the beginning, but when he saw Fang Zhimin's performance, he felt a little more admiration for Fang Zhimin.
At that time, the Kuomintang used many means to make Fang Zhimin surrender, but Fang Zhimin was loyal to the party and would rather die than surrender, and none of these worked.
Whether it was being shackled to march in the park or being intimidated as a sacrifice, Fang Zhimin remained calm and resolute in his expression, and he refused to surrender to the enemy. Seeing that Fang Zhimin was not afraid of hard methods, the enemy arrested his wife Miao Min and told him that as long as he was willing to surrender, he would reunite his husband and wife.
Fang Zhimin knew the enemy's tricks. Not only did he not have any fear, he also wrote in prison that the enemy's move was to cause greater harm to the Communist Party of and achieve their purpose of undermining the revolution, destroying the masses and the Red Army .
Ling Fengwu was impressed by Fang Zhimin's unyielding spirit, and his mentality also changed a little.
Because the Kuomintang army has been asking Fang Zhimin to explain the Communist Party’s intelligence, Fang Zhimin took the plan and asked them to come with paper and pen. When Ling Fengwu heard this, she thought Fang Zhimin could not bear it and wanted to explain, so she asked someone to send him paper and pen.
Every time Fang Zhimin finished writing, Ling Fengwu would take a look, but he did not see the information he could use to receive the merits as he imagined, but some words that he didn't know what it meant. However, Ling Fengwu probably understood that Fang Zhimin still did not want to surrender.
has reached this point, and Ling Fengwu has no choice but to let him go. Ling Fengwu saw Fang Zhimin writing unremittingly every day. The perseverance and perseverance alone in difficulties made Ling Fengwu look at him with admiration. Over time, Ling Fengwu also felt a little sympathetic to Fang Zhimin, so he felt compassion and wanted to take care of him.
The prisoners detained at that time all needed to carry heavy shackles. In order to help Fang Zhimin relieve some of the pain, Ling Fengwu told his superiors that if he had such heavy shackles, he would naturally not be willing to reveal the information. If he replaced him with lighter shackles, maybe he would say it as soon as he was moved?
also felt that it made sense, so he replaced Fang Zhimin with a lighter shackle. Fang Zhimin knew that Ling Fengwu was secretly helping him, so he gave him a note with words that said thanking "Brother Muwu" and some advice to him.
This note Ling Fengwu has been staying with him. It almost brought despair to him, but it also saved his life many years later.
Since Fang Zhimin never let go and the Kuomintang was afraid that he would be rescued by the underground Communist Party for too long, Chiang Kai-shek ordered the secret assassination of Fang Zhimin.
Fang Zhimin seemed to have a premonition. During this last period, he wrote articles for 16 hours every day, and finally wrote about 130,000 words of handwritten manuscripts, including "Lovely China" and "Poverty". These manuscripts were sent out after several twists and turns, and the spirit of martyr Fang Zhimin was permanently circulated.
935 On August 6, 1935, the news that Fang Zhimin was about to be executed reached Ling Fengwu. When he arrived at the detention center, Fang Zhimin had been taken into the car, and he passed by the execution car... Ling Fengwu's time with Fang Zhimin gave him a new understanding of the Communist Party members, but he did not leave the Kuomintang at that time, until the Kuomintang found the note Fang Zhimin wrote to him from Ling Fengwu.
Ling Fengwu was labeled as a "brethren" and was imprisoned. Fortunately, Ling Fengwu's friends were asked for contact with each other, so he was released.
Ling Fengwu escaped from death this time, and also remembered the words of Fang Zhimin to persuade him to stay away from the Kuomintang officialdom. In the end, he thought about it over and over again and decided to go home to be a teacher and live his life safely.
After the assassination of martyr Fang Zhimin, his body disappeared. Until 1955, the central government instructed that the remains of martyr Fang Zhimin must be found and the matter was handed over to Liu Shaoqi. Liu Shaoqi then set up an investigation team and appointed Fang Zhichun as the team leader
The remains of the martyrs were retrieved, and the heroic soul was buried
Fang Zhichun was the vice governor of Jiangxi Province at that time. He was the leadership of Fang Zhimin and embarked on the road of revolution, so he always admired his brother very much. After Fang Zhimin was executed, finding the remains of his elder brother also became a knot in Fang Zhichun's heart, so after receiving the order from his superiors, he immediately launched an investigation.
Since the place where Fang Zhimin was killed was uncertain at that time, and 20 years have passed, there are very few clues, Liu Shaoqi suggested that Fang Zhichun mobilize the power of the masses. With the help of the masses, Fang Zhichun found some clues.
Some people told the investigation team that when Fang Zhimin was killed, a photographer was present to take photos. If he was found, he might be able to find Fang Zhimin's remains.
This is a very favorable clue, and the investigation team soon found the photo studio where the photographer was located. This photo studio is called "Zhenzhen" photo studio and is also quite famous in Nanchang.
After finding the photographer, he told the story of that year.
At that time, the Kuomintang asked the photographer to take photos. He had no choice but to agree, but who knew that he was going to the scene of Fang Zhimin's martyrdom. The photographer told everyone that until before his death, Fang Zhimin was still holding high the banner of communism and shouting the slogan "Long live the Communist Party", and his character of treating death was moving.
Unfortunately, because the time has been too long, the cameraman only remembers that the place where Fang Zhimin died was Xiashawo, but he can no longer remember where he is. The result of
disappointed the investigation team, but they were not discouraged, but continued to visit the masses. During this period, there were people saying that at that time, the Kuomintang asked someone to tear Fang Zhimin a coffin and buried him. The investigation team followed the clues and found the person involved.
But the parties involved only knew that the Kuomintang asked them to bury several murdered Communist Party members. They didn't know who they were, so they searched for it in the end.
Just when everyone was at a loss, a new turning point appeared.
In the spring of 1957, the investigation team received a message that Jiangxi Chemical Fiber Factory dug out a pile of bones and a pair of shackles during the construction of Xiashawo. This news made everyone excited again. The team members immediately rushed to the field to check and found that a total of 79 bones were dug out.
experts have calculated the time and guessed that this may be the remains of Fang Zhimin, but whether further investigation is needed. At this time, someone said that maybe he could ask the detention director Ling Fengwu at that time, because he might know whether this pair of shackles belonged to Fang Zhimin.
Ling Fengwu helped Fang Zhimin only after the founding of the People's Republic of China.
After the founding of the People's Republic of China, someone reported that Ling Fengwu was once the detention director of the Kuomintang, and that the Military Law Department of the Nanchang Pacification Office where he was located happened to be the place where Fang Zhimin was detained, so Ling Fengwu was detained and investigated by relevant departments. The reason why he was released was because of the note Fang Zhimin left him.
When people saw the note, they knew that Ling Fengwu not only did not persecute Fang Zhimin, but also helped him. They realized that it was the wrong person. When Fang Zhichun was investigating Fang Zhimin's remains, he heard about the note, so he came to Ling Fengwu.
Fang Zhimin's integrity shocked Ling Fengwu. It was because of Fang Zhimin's advice that Ling Fengwu would not make mistakes again and again. So when he heard that Fang Zhimin's remains might have been found, Ling Fengwu hurried over.
If you can confirm that the shackles dug out were replaced by Ling Fengwu's helping Fang Zhimin, then the corpse is most likely to be Fang Zhimin's. Soon, Ling Fengwu, Fang Zhichun and Miao Min rushed to Xiashawo. Because it was of great importance, Ling Fengwu was very cautious.
At that time, the shackles of the Military Law Department of the Nanchang Pacification Office were all numbered and were very heavy. When Ling Fengwu picked up the shackles, he felt that they were much lighter, much like the one he had changed for Fang Zhimin. At this time, he already had a rough idea in his mind. To be cautious, he wiped off the rust on the shackles and carefully identified the number on the shackles.
After seeing the numbers clearly, Ling Fengwu could no longer stop the sadness in his heart, and she burst into tears:
"This is Brother Min!"
Ling Fengwu cried bitterly with his shackles. Many comrades present could not bear to see this scene, and they lowered their heads and sobbed in a low voice.
Although Ling Fengwu's identification was confirmed by Fang Zhimin's shackles, there was still no way to confirm that these corpses were Fang Zhimin's, so professional equipment was needed for testing.
Since the detection equipment in Jiangxi was not very advanced at that time, forensic doctor Zhang Weina could only use traditional methods to determine that 9 corpses may be from Martyr Fang Zhimin.
In order to further confirm, Zhang Weina took these corpses to Shanghai. After the instrument identification, it was found that these 9 corpses were indeed from Martyr Fang Zhimin.
After learning about this, the Party Central Committee decided to bury the bones of martyr Fang Zhimin. Before the official burial, the bones were kept by Zhang Weina. It was not until 1977 that on the 42nd anniversary of the death of martyr Fang Zhimin, the Jiangxi Provincial Government held a grand burial ceremony for Fang Zhimin.
Chairman Mao once wrote a tombstone for Martyr Fang Zhimin's handwriting, "The Tomb of Martyr Fang Zhimin", which shows Chairman Mao's concern and nostalgia for Martyr Fang Zhimin.
On August 6, 1977, Zhang Weina placed the nine remains of martyr Fang Zhimin who he had carefully protected for 20 years intact in front of all the leaders and Fang Zhimin's relatives and friends. After confirming that there was no problem, he solemnly put them in the coffin made of white jade and covered with the glorious party flag. Comrade Fang Zhimin's remains were finally buried.
Comrade Fang Zhimin's cemetery is halfway up the mountainside of Meiling. The cemetery is surrounded by lush trees, guarding the heroic spirits of the martyrs. On the day of the burial, people from all walks of life came to pay their respects. People saw off the martyr Fang Zhimin with an extremely heavy and admiration. From then on, the martyrs finally settled down.
Conclusion
Martyr Fang Zhimin has been serving the Party and the people all his life, and even if he falls into the opponent, he will unswervingly safeguard the Party’s secrets. His noble character and unyielding spirit are an example for future generations to learn from. We are proud to have such heroes and martyrs.
Although Ling Fengwu was once a member of the Kuomintang, he was kind by nature and was willing to risk his life to help Fang Zhimin. Later, he listened to Fang Zhimin's advice and left the Kuomintang, which was enough to show that he was just going astray. A small act of kindness saved his life many years later, which shows that kindness will always be rewarded.
The sacrifice of martyr Fang Zhimin is a great loss to our party. Although he has left us for many years, his spirit will never be destroyed, and future generations will always remember his achievements.
"This is Brother Min!"
