In 1999, many people carried small stools to watch an exciting TV series at home for people with TV in the village.
They looked at the strong woman with short hair, wearing blue cloth cheongsam, and standing at Chaotianmen Wharf with a box, and couldn't help but shed tears.
In 1961, the novel " Hongyan " created by modern writers Luo Guangbin and Yang Yiyan became famous throughout the country as soon as it was published. The book
describes the surviving Chongqing Kuomintang authorities using bloody means to frantically crack down on the underground revolution under the leadership of the Communist Party in the context of the Chinese People's Liberation Army's massive march to the southwest.
The main revolutionary figure Jiang Jie is the most typical revolutionary image in the book. As a communist fighter, she has outstanding party spirit, rich experience, and is ready to die.
Then, countless film and television works brought the moving plots in "Red Rock" to the screen, and Jiang Jie's image was deeply rooted in people's hearts at that time.
In recent years, the "Red Rock" craze has once again swept the whole country. If you travel to Chongqing, you must pay homage to the Chongqing Hongyan Revolutionary Memorial Hall. There are many precious cultural relics left over from that year in the
Memorial Hall, the most moving one is the suicide note of Sister Jiang who was sealed in the glass box.
Before this, we only knew that Jiang Jie, who was generously executed at the age of 29, was a righteous female martyr, but she didn't know that there was a soft place in her heart, which contained her young son Peng Yun .
"If you are unlucky, Yun'er will give you it. I hope to teach you to follow the footsteps of your parents, build a new China as your ambition, and strive for the cause of communist revolution to the end!"
This suicide note for the orphan written in blood and tears records Jiang Jie's deep feelings for her son.
She once bluntly stated that the will of the communist revolutionary fighter is steel, and it is not a pity to sacrifice his life for the country, but how can a mother let go of her children?
Jiang Jie entrusted her son to someone she trusted and put forward her expectations for her son. Who is Peng Yun’s adoptive mother? Did Peng Yun fulfill his mother's last wish?
Let us look back on history together and enter this legendary story.
Jiang Jie's past
"On the red rock, red plum blossoms bloom, thousands of miles of ice and frost, what should I fear the severe cold of the three nines? A piece of loyal heart blooms to the sun..."
When this familiar melody sounds, our thoughts will return to that era of undercurrents, and will recall those heroes who have hidden their names.
The real name of Jiang Jie, who we are familiar with, was Jiang Zhuyun. She was born in Zigong City, Sichuan Province in 1920.
When she just turned 8, her mother, who was positive in life and had some pursuits, could no longer bear the idle and lazy father.
Therefore, Jiang's mother, who has a strong personality, made a decision that women of that era could not imagine. She left her husband alone with her two children and rushed to Chongqing to join her brothers.
In order to make a living, Jiang Jie started working and making money when she was ten years old. She worked as a child laborer in a textile factory. At that time, she was not as tall as the machines in the factory.
Suffering did not defeat Sister Jiang. She still maintained a heart that loved studying. She worked and studied, but she got better grades than other students.
1939, 19-year-old Jiang Jie was admitted to the Chinese Public School in Chongqing with her excellent college entrance examination results, and joined the Communist Party of China, and later became a key figure in the Chongqing underground revolutionary organization.
In 1944, the talented Jiang Jie was admitted to Sichuan University again.
In that era when college students were regarded as the pride of heaven, Jiang Jie, who had attended private university and was admitted to a prestigious public school, was undoubtedly the most popular among people.
Everyone knows that Jiang Jie’s bright future is right in front of her, but she knows very well that there are still people who are constantly repeating the sufferings she suffered in her childhood.
She was very dissatisfied with the social system at that time and was inspired to do something for the construction of the motherland.
After clarifying her ambitions, Jiang Jie resolutely accepted the organization's arrangements and devoted herself to leading student movements and participating in underground work.
Due to work needs, the organization arranged for Sister Jiang and another comrade named Peng Yongwu to pretend to be a couple to collect information.
At that time, Jiang Jie was a little girl who had never been in love. While getting along with Peng Yongwu, the two found that each other and they had the same minds and had the same feelings;
Soon after, they made a fake show and fell in love.
Peng Yongwu sent a report to the organization, applying to become a real couple with Jiang Jie. The organization quickly approved the application. After marriage, the two gave birth to their son Peng Yun in April 1946.
1 In June 1946, the civil war broke out in full swing, and the war in the country was in a tight position. Soon after, Peng Yongwu received a notice from the organization that he was arranged to go to the East Sichuan region to launch an armed uprising.Considering that Peng Yun is still young and is inconvenient to take care of him, therefore the organization decided to leave Sister Jiang in the original place to do some intelligence work so as to make some time to take care of the children.
Jiang Jie said that she wanted to go to the front line with her husband to carry out work and was unwilling to stay at home to drag her back.
Then she assured the organization that she would definitely handle personal problems and go to the front line without distraction.
Jiang Jie definitely cannot bring Peng Yun, who is still a baby, to the front line. Then whoever Peng Yun is fostered in will become a big problem at the moment.
At that time, the world was in chaos, and no family could live a peaceful life. If they had raised another child from a revolutionary family, they would be regarded as a thorn in their eyes by the enemy.
What's more, the acquaintances that Brother Jiang and his wife knew were revolutionaries, and they were all busy with work and had no time to take care of their children.
At this time, Jiang Jie proposed to send her son to the home of Peng Yongwu's original wife Tan Zhenglun.
Peng Yongwu felt a little embarrassed about Jiang Jie's proposal because Tan Zhenglie was the wife he married when he was in his hometown, and the two also had a son.
Working outside, marrying and having children with Sister Jiang was a heavy blow to her. Now that let her raise Peng Yun is really a sprinkling of salt on her wounds.
But Sister Jiang told Peng Yongwu: "The situation ahead is urgent now. We have been with you for many years. I will definitely increase the chance of winning. Now I can't take care of that much!"
"If you feel that you can't speak, then let me write a letter to Tan Zhenglie!"
Jiang Jie told Tan Zhenglun and Pan very frankly in the letter.
She clearly told the process between herself and Peng Yongwu from work to marriage. The lines of this letter were filled with strong apology and sincere pleas.
She asked Tan Zhenglun to rush to Chongqing as soon as possible to pick up Peng Yun and take care of the child.
: Tan Zhenglunton felt moved when she learned that her husband was marrying and having children with a colleague outside;
; but she could not help but be moved by the two people's attitude towards work and their contributions to the revolution in the letter.
Thinking that Jiang Jie and Peng Yongwu were about to leave their lives behind and go to the front line for national affairs, Tan Zhenglie told himself that he should not care about the love between children.
Therefore, in her reply, she expressed her understanding of the two, saying that she was willing to raise Peng Yun and protect him from growing up safely.
In order to devote himself to the revolution, Sister Jiang decided to undergo sterilization surgery to prevent herself from getting pregnant again on the front line.
"Your child is still young, and the world is unstable now. If you have sterilization surgery, what will you do in the future?"
Jiang Jie insisted on her own idea: "Doctor, I know you are kind to persuade me, , but I want to sacrifice my head and shed blood for the country. If I drag my children, how can I work with peace of mind?"
Speaking of the emotional part, Jiang Jie turned her head and wiped her tears with her sleeve:
"I only want Yun'er, a child. He is a life independent of me. I will not hope for him to retire in the future. As long as he grows up to be an upright person, I will be satisfied."
"Even if there is no Yun'er, I will contribute to the country and the people."
Looking at Jiang Jie's firm gaze and serious expression, the doctor deeply admired him, so he performed a sterilization operation on Jiang Jie.
bad news frequently
Jiang Jie followed her husband on the train to eastern Sichuan shortly after the sterilization operation.
She entrusted Peng Yun to her comrades who were still in Chongqing and urged her to hand over Peng Yun safely to Tan Zhenglun.
1 In February 11948, Tan Zhenglun finally came to Chongqing in the face of the war. She overcomes all difficulties and contacts the relevant personnel, and successfully meets and takes away Peng Yun, who is less than two years old.In other words, Peng Yun’s biological mother, Sister Jiang and adoptive mother Tan Zhenglun never met until the beginning.
Two women with great righteousness decided Peng Yun’s fate for the rest of his life through letters, and the trust in it was self-evident.
The famous party has long set his sights on the important figure of Jiang Jie. and they came up with a vicious plan - to capture Peng Yun, use him as a hostage, and force Jiang Jie to submit.
In the next two years, the Kuomintang used all kinds of tricks to surround Peng Yun.
Tan Zhenglun lives up to the entrusted by Sister Jiang. In the past two years, she took Peng Yun alone to avoid the Kuomintang army and spies like fighting guerrilla warfare.
The two escaped countless disasters and finally waited for the day when Chongqing was liberated.
Peng Yun was over three years old at this time. Since he had a memory, Tan Zhenglun has been taking him around and rushing around, giving him endless care and love;
So in his heart, Tan Zhenglun is his only mother.
Tan Zhenglun found his younger brother Tan Zhuan and his child behind Peng Yun.
They believe that the Sichuan and Chongqing regions have been liberated now, and Jiang Jie and Peng Yongwu who have completed the revolution will definitely return to Chongqing to reunite with Peng Yun.
So Tan Zhenglun took Peng Yun, Tan Zhuan and his nephew, and a family of four ran across the "Escaped Comrade Registration Office" in Chongqing, trying to find out about Peng Yun's biological parents.
, even though he searched every corner and asked every comrade who might know them, Tan Zhenglun and his group did not find any useful information.
She could only comfort herself silently: "No news is the best news, at least it means they should not sacrifice."
A few days later, Tan Zhenglun was listening to the radio. As she listened, her tears unconsciously wet her clothes.
The broadcaster reported Jiang Jie's death in a painful tone.
On June 14, 1948, due to a traitor leaking secrets to the Kuomintang, Jiang Jie was unfortunately arrested and then escorted to the Chongqing National Government Military Commission Zhazidong Concentration Camp .
In the concentration camp, the Kuomintang used all the torture of Jiang Jie and did not bring up a word of intelligence from her mouth.
On November 14, 1949, the People's Liberation Army invaded Chongqing. Seeing that the victory of the Communist Party of China was decided, the furious Kuomintang brutally killed Jiang Jie and threw her into a pool to try to destroy the body and cover up her evil deeds.
Hearing the words " Tiger Bench ", " Electrostation ", "bamboo stick" and other words mentioned by the broadcaster, Tan Zhenglun closed his eyes in pain.
Now that Sister Jiang has died, finding Peng Yongwu has become the top priority, but unfortunately, Peng Yongwu's comrades came to the door to tell Tan Zhenglun about an unfortunate news.
It turned out that in order to cover the masses and comrades during a breakthrough, Peng Yongwu ran out of the trench alone and led the enemy in the opposite direction;
, but outnumbered. The enemy who found the truth angrily killed Peng Yongwu, and cut off his head and hung it on the city gate to show his public, which was extremely insulting.
Peng Yongwu's comrades risked his life and buried his head and torso respectively with extreme grief.
After listening to his comrades, Tan Zhenglun felt that his eyes were dark and he almost fainted.
You should know that she, a woman, had lived a two-year worried life with the unknown Peng Yun;
was about to complete the task successfully and handed over Peng Yun to his biological parents, but found that his biological parents were both killed by the enemy by inhuman means.
Tan Zhenglun felt sorry for the martyr couple and the little Peng Yun, and did not know how a woman should raise two children in the future. For a moment, she felt confused.
Fortunately, the Chongqing government decided to give him and Tan Zhenglie some preferential policies after learning about the identity of Martyr Peng Yun’s children.
The government proposed to send Peng Yun to the best first nursery in Chongqing, and also arrange a job for Tan Zhenglun to ensure the basic life of their family.
Originally, Tan Zhenglun was also an intellectual woman, and doing civilian work was her strength. The government wanted to arrange her to be a clerk in the government office, and she was relatively leisurely and decent.
But Tan Zhenglun refused the job. She believed that all the help she received was exchanged for Peng Yun's parents' lives, so she must keep her promise and take good care of Peng Yun.
So, she took the initiative to apply to be a nurseryman in Peng Yun’s class.
The road to growth
Under Tan Zhenglun's careful education, Peng Yun grew up day by day.
Although Tan Zhenglun is very kind to this child, she is very strict in cultivating morality and developing habits, and educates Peng Yun into a good child with comprehensive development of morality, intelligence, physical fitness, aesthetics and labor.
957, Chongqing Daily published Jiang Jie's moving deeds in a complete page.At the same time, the Chongqing drama troupe also brought Jiang Jie’s story to the stage. After listening to Jiang Jie’s suicide note, all the audience present burst into tears.
In the middle of the audience seat was a little boy wearing a red scarf. He was Jiang Jie's son Peng Yun.
, and Tan Zhenglun, who was sitting aside, told him that the story of his biological mother Jiang Zhuyun was performed on the stage.
From then on, the name Jiang Zhuyun was deeply imprinted in Peng Yun's heart.
He has become more strict with himself. On every Qingming Festival and historical anniversary, he will come to his parents' grave to report to them about their recent life and study status.
959, Peng Yun was admitted to Chongqing's key middle school, Chongqing Bashu Middle School with excellent results, where he spent his entire junior and high school career.This is an boarding school . All students live on campus. We are not only classmates who study with classmates, but also families who spend time together.
Peng Yun is very helpful in school. He can sew clothes and nail buttons, which has helped the students a lot;
And for six years in middle school, Peng Yun has always been the Youth League Secretary in the class, doing his best to serve the students.
Peng Yun looks very similar to Sister Jiang, with a full face, big eyes and lips that always have a smile.
But Peng Yun's head is bigger than his peers. Because he has excellent academic performance, his classmates always joke that his head can hold more knowledge.
Although the children of martyrs can apply for state subsidies, Peng Yun lives a very frugal life. His most iconic feature is the pair of glasses on the bridge of his nose that lacks legs. He has been pairing this pair of glasses for a long time and has never been willing to change them. One of the glasses fell off, so he put them on his ears with cotton thread instead.
The school takes great care of Peng Yun and equips Peng Yun with the best teachers for the class where he is. Peng Yun will also participate in any important activities.
City will organize students to hold commemorative activities in Zhazidong, the prison where revolutionary martyrs were imprisoned.
During a commemorative event, I don’t know who told the students of other schools that Peng Yun’s identity.
For a moment, the students were extremely excited and surrounded the upstairs of Zhazidong Tower and were all trying to see Sister Jiang's son.
In order to ensure Peng Yun's safety, the school asked another boy with a similar body to Peng Yun to run out wearing his glasses and his clothes before the event ended, attracting some students away. The other tall and mighty male classmates in
class are responsible for escorting real Peng Yun out. Although
is highly valued, Peng Yun is not pretentious.
During the three-year disaster, a severe famine occurred across the country. The government and schools took great care of Peng Yun and asked him to report his own ration standards and not be hungry.
Peng Yun was in his growth period at that time and was hungry very quickly, but he still chose the minimum standard.
Due to long-term hunger and malnutrition, Peng Yun, who was already thin, was only about 90 pounds when he graduated from junior high school. His thin body made his head look bigger.
But his eyes were still firm: "Everyone is living the hardest days, but my mother once said that children should not be arrogant, just eat simple food."
"Her spirit has always inspired me, and this difficulty is nothing to me."
Even if you are hungry, Peng Yun still has not relaxed. His grades have always been among the best. No matter what level of subject competition it is, Peng Yun can achieve gratifying results.
Bright Future
Peng Yun was lucky enough to catch the last chance before abolishing the college entrance examination. The college entrance examination in 1965 still adopted the method of applying for the application first and then taking the exam;
In other words, students must fill in the university they like before going to the exam room, and they don’t even have the chance to estimate the score. They make choices based on their usual learning situation.
This is not a problem for Peng Yun, because he almost gets first place in the grade in every exam, so it is not a problem for him to be admitted to Tsinghua University and Peking University.
His brother, Tan Zhenglun's eldest son, had long been admitted to Jiang Jie's alma mater, Sichuan University. He suggested that his younger brother apply for Tsinghua and Peking University to serve the motherland in the future.
, but Peng Yun replied: "I decided to apply for Harbin Military Engineering College , and I will fulfill my dream there." After the college entrance examination results came out, Peng Yun took the exam better than he thought. He was the top scorer in Sichuan Province at that time, and could steadily pass the score line of Harbin Military Engineering College.
But Peng Yun was not happy for too long because this school is different from other universities. It is a military academy. Candidates must not only pass the score, but also pass the physical examination before they can be admitted.
Peng Yun looked through the physical examination directory and found that if you want to enter school, you not only have to undergo routine physical health examinations, but also need to meet the standards of the Navy, Army and Air Force in sports.
This made Peng Yun difficult. He is thin and small, with his eyes as high as 1.6 meters, and his eyes are highly myopic, and the probability of passing the physical examination is slim.
This means that as the top scorer in science, Peng Yun may fail the exam.
As expected, before reaching the level of vision test and sports, Peng Yun was eliminated because he did not meet the standards of height and weight.
When he returned home, Peng Yun was in a low mood, but he, who had always been rational, restrained his urge to cry and just sat quietly alone.
Tan Zhenglun stepped forward to comfort him and said: "It's okay kid, your grades are so good. At worst, we will go to Tsinghua University and Peking University next year." Peng Yun nodded and said nothing.
However, the God of Fate favored the child, and the president of Harbin Military Engineering College learned about Peng Yun's situation.
He believes that Peng Yun’s parents sacrificed their lives for the country, and that their children have the ambition to serve the country and are so outstanding, so how can they not let others study?
So the principal made the decision and decided to let Peng Yun take a special channel and be admitted as a martyr's child.
This surprise is the best coming-of-age gift for Peng Yun. He said goodbye to his adoptive mother, uncle and brother in tears, and came to the campus of Harjun Industrial alone with his luggage and dreams. The military training at
Military Academy is extremely strict, which is equivalent to the enlistment training of new recruits. Among the strong and healthy students, Peng Yun is not showing any weakness.
He knew that he was specially recruited by the principal, but he must not embarrass the principal, so he spent more time training and achieved extremely dazzling results during college.
In 1970, Peng Yun graduated from university and was assigned to work in a factory in Shenyang.
Three years later, he fell in love with his college classmate Yi Xiaoye and got married.
Yi Xiaoye is not only a soldier, but her grandfather is also the uncle of martyr Yang Kaihui. The combination of the two of them is a combination of two martyrs' families. They can be said to be a good family and a good match.
976, Peng Yun and Yi Xiaoye gave birth to a son Peng Zhuangzhuang .At this time, after retirement, Tan Zhenglie was living in Chengdu with his own son.
Peng Yun sent an invitation to his adoptive mother, saying that he had been busy with work and family over the years, and now that he has a child, he has finally stabilized and wants to invite her to live in Beijing for a while and enjoy the joy of family.
Tan Zhenglun, who received the call from Peng Yun, was so happy that he danced like a child.
The day before she set off, her eldest son's family set up a family dinner for her, but no one expected that at this family dinner, Tan Zhenglun suddenly died of hypertension and , at the age of 59.
son wants to raise his parents but his parents are not waiting for him. Peng Yun feels very regretful, but he has not been depressed for too long.
He turned grief and anger into strength, and in the first year of the college entrance examination for and the postgraduate entrance examination, he was admitted to the Institute of Computer Science, Chinese Academy of Sciences.
977, during his master's degree, he was sent to the University of Maryland, USA to exchange and study, and became one of the first batch of students sent to the United States at that time.After obtaining a master's degree and doctoral degree from University of Maryland , Peng Yun returned to China as an agreement to work as a researcher at Institute of Software of Chinese Academy of Sciences.
During this period, Peng Yun found that he was more suitable for the more open and cutting-edge academic environment in the United States.
Therefore, when he was throwing an olive branch to him at the University of Maryland and invited him to serve as a tenured professor, he took his family to the United States again and lived here for a long time.
Despite such impressive achievements in the scientific research community, Peng Yun is still humble. He is rigorous in his academic research and caring for students. He is highly praised by his colleagues and students.
In recent years, Peng Yun has become the focus of media attention. When facing a reporter's question about Jiang Jie, Peng Yun replied:
"I just became a person who works hard to learn and is upright. I was taken care of by the motherland before, but now I have not received much reward. In this way, I only fulfilled my mother's last wish and felt ashamed of my mother."
However, Peng Yun added: "Although I am in the United States, my heart and my roots are always to stay. In China, I feel sincerely happy to see the gratifying changes in China over the years. "
" Moreover, my son also returned to China after graduation to contribute to the development of the motherland. I think he can make up for some of my regrets back then."
Postscript
We all felt deeply relieved when we saw that the families of the martyrs were living well.
We should not only pay attention to the families of the martyrs, but also focus on the martyrs themselves and their red spirit;
always learn from the revolutionary martyrs, always remember the Red Rock Spirit , and use this to inspire ourselves to contribute our own strength to the development of the motherland.
