Yang Hucheng’s guard Wang Zhiping recalled: The night before the Xi’an Incident, I was in charge of guarding in the Xi’an Imperial City New City Building, when the power was suddenly cut off. , When I just wanted to ask what was going on, Yang Hucheng's adjutant Wang Zhongting hurriedly stepped forward to stop it and let it go.

On the morning of December 12, 1936, the guards Zhu Ziming and Shangguan Keqin and I were instructed that important guests were coming to the New City Building. We were ordered to guard the entrance of the New City Building. The guest was Chiang Kai-shek, who was wearing a robe, his head bare, and no hat. That morning, Zhang Xueliang walked into the New Town Building, and I was standing guard at the door. I wear a holster, but instead of putting the gun in the holster, I stick it in front of my waist belt. When he walked in front of me, Zhang Xueliang warned me: "Put the gun in the holster and don't put it on your chest. What should you do if the chairman pulls out your gun and commits suicide when you give something to the chairman?" I quickly pressed Zhang Xueliang ordered the gun to be put into the holster.

Once, Chiang Kai-shek called the guard Zhu Ziming and said that he wanted to borrow two cents from his personal relationship to buy some sweets. Zhu Ziming asked me to get it. I went to Adjutant Wang Huating to explain the situation and brought a bag of sugar from the large kitchen, which was more than 20 catties. When sent to Chiang Kai-shek, he resolutely did not use it. He said that borrowing two cents was a personal sentiment, and he never wanted to touch the public goods in Zhang Xueliang and Yang Hucheng's military camp. We withdrew to report the situation to Wang Huating. Wang Huating said. You are so stupid, find some paper wrapped in a little sugar, just say that you can buy it for two cents. We followed our instructions, and Chiang Kai-shek did not refuse, and drank the sugar in a cup.

Xiao Zanyu was the secretary of Jiang Jieshi’s attendants. He recalled the Xi’an Incident from another side: two days before the incident, I saw a lot of students protesting in Xi’an, shouting slogans on the road and on the street Slogans were posted everywhere on the wall, calling for the end of the civil war and unanimous resistance to the Japanese. I was very surprised. When I met Shaanxi Province Chairman Shao Lizi, Shao didn't think it was too serious, but admitted that there were hidden concerns; in my opinion, this phenomenon is serious. Therefore, the day before the Xi'an Incident, I gathered some people from the Central Committee to work in Xi'an to exchange views, and everyone felt that the situation was worrying. So I wrote a written report based on the information provided by everyone and what I saw, and prepared to forward it to Chiang Kai-shek the next morning. Unexpectedly, it happened a few hours later.
