On August 29, 1959, Chairman Mao was very happy. His eldest daughter Li Min and Kong Linghua were getting married. Chairman Mao personally presided over the wedding for his daughter. At Chairman Mao's suggestion, there were only three tables at the wedding banquet, and the participants were all close relatives of both parties. Chairman Mao was so happy that he drank at the banquet.

Li Min was 23 years old when she got married. In 1962, Li Min gave birth to a son. Chairman Mao was very happy to become a grandfather. At that time, Chairman Mao's youngest daughter Li Na was already 22 years old and had no partner. Chairman Mao could not help but worry about his little daughter's marriage like ordinary parents.
However, Li Ne was still in college at the time. Chairman Mao did not urge her to find a partner, but occasionally asked her about her relationship issues. In the summer of 1965, Li Ne graduated from Peking University , and she was assigned to be the editor of the "Liberation Army Daily". In 1967, 27-year-old Li Ne became the editor-in-chief.
Due to her busy work and Li Na's special status, there was no suitable partner around her. Under such circumstances, Jiang Qing decided to find a partner for her daughter. Chairman Mao once said that he did not want his daughter to find a descendant of a high-ranking cadre, so Jiang Qing set her sights on the young people below and took a fancy to a young man named Zhang Yongsheng.

Why did Zhang Yongsheng fall into Jiang Qing’s eyes? He was a student at Zhejiang Academy of Fine Arts . He was a talented person. He was a "man of the hour" at Zhejiang Academy of Fine Arts and the leader of a group of students. He later became the leader of Zhejiang's "rebels" and became the second-in-command of Zhejiang's "rebels" in his early 20s.
At that time, Jiang Qing called the leaders of the two Zhejiang factions to Beijing, and Jiang Qing met them personally. The talented Zhang Yongsheng talked in front of Jiang Qing, leaving a deep impression on Jiang Qing. Because of this, Zhang Yongsheng entered the ranks of Jiang Qing's son-in-law, and was even arranged to meet Li Na.
In 1968, Zhang Yongsheng went to Beijing to report for work. He was taken to Diaoyutai by Jiang Qing. At that time, Jiang Qing deliberately did not come out to meet Zhang Yongsheng, but asked Zhang Yongsheng to wait in the living room. Li Ne appeared in the living room before Jiang Qing, so Zhang Yongsheng and Li Ne met.

After Li Ne met Zhang Yongsheng and left, Jiang Qing came out to see Zhang Yongsheng, and then asked Zhang Yongsheng some information. Zhang Yongsheng was flattered by Jiang Qing's attitude. Judging from the situation at that time, Jiang Qing had a good impression of Zhang Yongsheng and planned to choose him as his son-in-law.
However, Jiang Qing did not rush for success. A few months later, Jiang Qing entrusted Zhang Chunqiao in Shanghai to come forward and personally interview Zhang Yongsheng to help check the situation. Jiang Qing specifically told Zhang Chunqiao to understand Zhang Yongsheng's situation clearly and then report directly to himself.
Zhang Chunqiao naturally understood Jiang Qing's intention. Zhang Chunqiao invited Zhang Yongsheng to Shanghai without directly stating his intention. Instead, he used the current situation to talk to Zhang Yongsheng. Zhang Yongsheng once again showed his eloquence in front of Zhang Chunqiao. However, through Zhang Chunqiao's narration, Zhang Chunqiao discovered that Zhang Yongsheng was not in a good situation.

Because Zhang Yongsheng acted on his own and rejected others, his relationship with all parties was very tense. Zhang Chunqiao judged that Zhang Yongsheng would not last long. Afterwards, Zhang Chunqiao compiled and reported what he learned to Jiang Qing overnight, and Jiang Qing finally gave up on Zhang Yongsheng.
Since then, Jiang Qing has not been able to find a young man who can catch his eye. Li Ne's marriage did not come to fruition until 1970. In this year, Li Ne took the initiative to work in Jiangxi May 7th Cadre School, where he met a young man named Xiao Xu. After Chairman Mao agreed, Li Ne married Xiao Xu.

After the marriage, due to the incompatibility between the two in various aspects, and Jiang Qing's dissatisfaction with Xiao Xu, Li Ne and Xiao Xu eventually separated and lived alone with their children. Later, as the "Gang of Four" was crushed, Jiang Qing's conspiracy was exposed and jailed. Zhang Yongsheng was also jailed for his illegal behavior in Zhejiang and was sentenced to life imprisonment.
