Xiaozhuang was very satisfied with this maid. They grew up together. Xiaozhuang had treated her as a sister. Xiaozhuang called her Gege, and Kangxi called her Eniang. In addition to her quirk of taking baths, Aunt Sumala did not take any medicine and would not take any medicine when she got sick. The strange thing was that she could get through it every time and lived to be over 90.
After Aunt Sumala passed away, Kangxi was very sad. This nanny took care of him since he was a child, and also raised his adopted son Yun Tao so well. Kangxi wanted to serve his grandmother in Sumala Aunt. Therefore, he ordered her coffin to be placed in the Temporary Anfeng Hall and later buried near Xiaozhuang. Until the third year of Yongzheng's reign, Yongzheng buried Xiaozhuang in the Chaoxiling Mausoleum. He chose a geomantic treasure land near the Chaoxiling Mausoleum and built his own garden for Aunt Sumala.
So it was Yongzheng who gave Aunt Sumala a grand burial, but later her tomb was stolen, and everyone knew what the regulations were like inside. People could not lift their heads when entering, and the space was very small.
Aunt Sumala must have believed in Buddhism all her life, and she didn’t care how many people were buried with her or how big the tomb space was.
