April 7, 1942, noon.
More than fifty Japanese and puppet troops from the Shuanggang stronghold broke into Fengda Township to carry out raids. At that time, district committee cadres Chen Quanhe, Wuli Zhang and others were doing mass resistance work in Jianhua Village. At this time, everyone who got the news found it too late to move.

Villager Lu Hanbang present suggested to everyone:
"Everyone go to my house to hide for a while. I will go to the mayor Wang to see if I can stop these people."
The mayor Wang that Lu Hanbang is looking for is named Wang Ruhuang. He is the pseudo-township chief of Fengda Township and the president of the maintenance committee. He is a well-known local landowner and is very good at causing trouble in front of the Japanese.
However, this person has a weakness, that is, he bullies the weak and fears the strong, and never pays attention to ordinary households. However, no matter whether it is the stubborn Kuomintang troops or the New Fourth Army passing by, he does not dare to take the initiative to provoke or make grudges, let alone small actions such as informing the Japanese.
What Lu Hanbang was looking for was that he bullied the weak and feared the strong. Taking advantage of a group of Japanese and puppet soldiers starting to search people from house to house from the entrance of the village, Lu Hanbang trotted all the way and hurriedly ran to Wang Ruhuang's home.
"Chief Wang, it's not good, the Japanese have come to the village to arrest people." Lu Hanbang ran into the house and panted and said to Wang Ruhuang.
"Just catch me, I know this, what's the fuss about." Wang Ruhuang scratched his head, looking calm and calm.

"Mr. Wang, to tell you the truth, there are several people in my house now, but they are all Communists!" Lu Hanbang approached Wang Ruhuang and revealed in a low voice, "If something happens to them in our village, what do you think? Think, who among us can escape?"
Lu Hanbang's "harsh words" made Wang Ruhuang feel cold. If these people were caught in his own village, he would not be able to clean himself up even if he jumped to the Yellow River.
The Communist Party will definitely suspect that they are tipping off information to the Japanese, and the Japanese will also suspect that they are secretly harboring underground party members and are suspected of collaborating with the Communist Party.
"Oh my god, what should I do?" Wang Ruhuang thought about it, and his head swelled up.
"In my opinion, this is the best thing to do. You lure them away and hold on until dark..." Lu Hanbang started to plan for Wang Ruhuang...
Not long after, Wang Ruhuang brought a few local squires and Lu Hanbang to the entrance of the village. At this time, the Japanese and puppet soldiers had already searched several houses, making a huge fuss, and no sign of the Communist Party was seen.
" Taijun Thank you for your hard work." Wang Ruhuang bowed his waist and came to the Japanese officers. He greeted them in a flattering manner, and in the name of the chairman of the maintenance committee, invited a group of Japanese and puppet soldiers to come into the house to drink tea.

The Japanese army officer led the translator and several puppet army leaders to Wang Ruhuang's home. Wang Ruhuang greeted others to serve tea to the Japanese and puppet army. The Japanese officer next to him asked:
"Is there a Communist Party in your village?"
Wang Ruhuang Huang looked serious and honest, thought for a moment and replied:
"A few days ago, I heard that there were actually a few communist parties operating in this area, but I don't know where they are now." After saying that, Wang Ruhuang turned to Lu Hanbang and said:
"Go to the village and ask around to see if anyone knows where those communists have gone. No news. "
Lu Hanbang went out and walked around outside. During this period, he saw several puppet soldiers walking to the door of his house. Lu Hanbang hurriedly walked forward and opened the door of his courtyard generously:
"Boss, why don't you also come into my courtyard and search it?
Those puppet soldiers had just seen Lu Hanbang following Wang Ruhuang, and then they smiled and said:
"If you don't go, how could there be a Communist Party hiding in your house?" "

Afterwards, several puppet soldiers left and went to search the next house. Lu Hanbang slowly loosened his clenched hands, and his palms were full of sweat.
Lu Hanbang stayed at the door for a while. After making sure that no puppet troops passed by, he hurried back to Wang Ruhuang's home. As if he was rushing back, he reported "Truthfully":
"I just found out clearly, those few people All the Communists have left. They went south a few nights ago, and now there is no Communist Party near us."
After hearing this, the Japanese and puppet troops in the village ordered the Japanese and puppet troops to stop searching. After eating and drinking at Wang Ruhuang's house, they left Jianhua Village.
That night, after confirming that there were no enemies nearby, Lu Hanbang carefully escorted Chen Hequan, Wu Wuzhang and others all the way across the south bank of the Zhongshan River overnight, and a crisis was finally resolved quietly.
