In Chinese history, the names Chen Bijun and Wang Jingwei are already well-known traitorous couples in modern history. After Wang Jingwei's death, Chen Bijun was imprisoned in different prisons by the Kuomintang and the Communist Party because of her treasonous behavior. It was hoped that through this form of reform, she could recognize her previous mistakes. However, Chen Bijun was like a piece of iron, insisting that he was not a traitor. Instead, he accused Chiang Kai-shek of being the real traitor.
If Wang Jingwei's wife and identity as a traitor are aside, Chen Bijun can also be regarded as a talented woman. Because her family made a living in business, she has lived a very wealthy life since she was a child. Although she is only a woman, she also entered school early. Whether it is traditional Chinese or advanced foreign languages, she is proficient in almost everything. She has even achieved very high achievements in the fields of music and painting.

But even with the title of a talented woman, she still could not conceal the worldly aura of Chen Bijun. Perhaps due to the influence of her family, no matter what she does, she will put her personal interests first, even when it comes to love and marriage.
Chen Bijun and Wang Jingwei met in 1910. At that time, Wang Jingwei already had a certain social status and was very talented. When Chen Bijun saw him for the first time, he began to pursue him fiercely. Although Wang Jingwei had no good impression of Chen Bijun at first, he could not resist the temptation of a woman to chase a man, so he finally agreed to date Chen Bijun and got married in Shanghai in 1912.
However, who would have thought that such two young and promising young couples would rebel in 1925. This year, Wang Jingwei became the supreme chairman of the National Government, possessing supreme power. However, at this time, Wang Jingwei's indecisive character was also exposed. When faced with emergencies, he was often unable to deal with them cleanly. Instead, he relied on Chen Bijun behind him to help him make decisions.
The time came to 1931. After the September 18th Incident, Chiang Kai-shek and Wang Jingwei, who had a good relationship with each other, also had differences. According to Wang Jingwei's thinking, we should not advocate the use of force at this time, but should make peace with Japan, which is the least harmful to both sides.
However, Chiang Kai-shek at this time was completely opposite to Wang Jingwei's idea. In his view, if peace talks were held at this time, would be tantamount to showing weakness to the Japanese, and would instead make the Japanese worse off.
Chiang Kai-shek and Wang Jingwei discussed the issue of peace talks many times, but each time they broke up unhappy. Neither of them could convince the other. Sometimes when they got excited, Chiang Kai-shek would say some unpleasant things to Wang Jingwei.
On this day, Wang Jingwei returned home with an unhappy look on his face. Under Chen Bijun's questioning, he told her the matter. What Wang Jingwei didn't expect was that Chen Bijun was very supportive of his idea. This also made Wang Jingwei completely determined to negotiate peace with Japan, and finally signed a surrender agreement with the Japanese in 1938.

In the days that followed, Wang Jingwei and Chen Bijun seemed to feel that they had reached the pinnacle of their lives, especially Chen Bijun, who also extended her hands to Guangdong. She not only placed her cronies there, greatly expanding her team of traitors, but also obtained a large amount of ill-gotten gains in Guangdong through these people.
In 1944, with the death of Wang Jingwei due to illness, and Japan's announcement of surrender in 1945, the domestic situation changed greatly. Chen Bijun was also arrested by the Kuomintang in Guangzhou in October 1945 because of his identity as a traitor, and was eventually sentenced to life imprisonment by Chiang Kai-shek in Nanjing for "conspiracy with the enemy."
According to ordinary people's thinking, Chen Bijun has now become a prisoner and will definitely not be as arrogant and domineering as usual.But this was not the case. Not only did she not show any remorse for her past, she even said angrily when the guards called her by her name: "Chiang Kai-shek always calls me Mrs. Wang when he sees me. Who are you? Why do you call me by my name?"
In 1949, Chiang Kai-shek had no chance of winning the war. In order to preserve his strength, he arranged the affairs in a hurry and fled to Taiwan with his remaining troops. Originally, Chiang Kai-shek planned to take Chen Bijun to Taiwan and continue to imprison him. However, due to time constraints, he finally left her in Shanghai and was taken over by the Communist Party.
Different from the Kuomintang, the Communist Party has a much more tolerant attitude when facing traitors. Especially for Chen Bijun, both the accommodation conditions and the diet have been greatly improved from before. They even prepare 5 bottles of boiled water for her every day.
What Chen Bijun didn't know was that at this time Soong Ching Ling and He Xiangning also made a special trip to find Chairman Mao, hoping that Chairman Mao would take into account that Chen Bijun was a prostitute who only followed Wang Jingwei to become a traitor, but after all, he was not the decision-maker. In addition, he was in poor health and begged Chairman Mao to release Chen Bijun.

Chairman Mao readily agreed to the two people's request, but also put forward his own conditions: Chen Bijun deeply repented of his past sins in the form of a confession statement.
However, Chen Bijun still disagreed with such a simple condition. In her opinion, the treatment she enjoyed in prison was based on her past status and was not preferential treatment by the Communist Party. It wasn't until an incident happened in September 1952 that Chen Bijun's thinking was completely changed.
On this day, Chen Bijun fainted and fell to the ground due to physical reasons. After the guards found out, they immediately sent her to the hospital. At that time, New China was underdeveloped both economically and medically. However, when they learned that Chen Bijun’s condition required scarce medicines, they not only did not let her go, but tried their best to treat her. This time, Chen Bijun stayed in the hospital for 193 days.
It was from this time that Chen Bijun realized his previous mistakes and took the initiative to write a letter of apology, clearly describing his previous sins and expressing his deep repentance for the harm he had caused to the motherland and people. Not only that, she also took the initiative to express her determination to repent by asking for labor reform in agricultural areas with difficult conditions.
In the end, due to physical reasons, Chen Bijun was left in Shanghai Prison, and finally passed away completely on June 17, 1959 due to the recurrence of his old illness. Looking back on Chen Bijun's life, there were glorious moments and wrong choices, but in the end, under the influence of the Communist Party, he found his way back and completely corrected his life path.
