1949, the Kuomintang retreated due to its extreme incompetence. However, at that time, the Kuomintang still regarded itself as part of China, but because it relies heavily on the United States in terms of economy, politics, military and other aspects, it was just a "chess piece" in the United States' geostrategy. Later, out of the need to deal with another superpower, the United States established diplomatic relations with mainland China and "severed diplomatic relations with Taiwan, abolished the contract, and withdrew its troops", and the situation in the Taiwan Strait was eased.
But with , the Soviet Union collapsed , the United States re-listed China as its opponent and continued to carry out political infiltration into Taiwan. After the Democratic Progressive Party came to power in 2000, it promoted gradual "Taiwan independence" on the island and condone the "Taiwan independence" forces to grow. This also caused some politicians of the Kuomintang to have confusion in their identification, which led to confusion in their thoughts and constantly moved closer to the Democratic Progressive Party in terms of political propositions. In 2008, after Ma Ying-jeou came to power, although he played a lot of role in promoting the peaceful development of cross-strait relations, his attitude towards "anti-independence" and promoting cross-strait reunification was not resolute and clear enough, and he looked forward and took the lead, causing fundamental changes in the political ecology of the island, and the "Taiwan independence" forces became increasingly arrogant and rampant. In 2016, the DPP returned to power, while the KMT was always under suppression.

A few days ago, the "nine-in-one" election in Taiwan came to an end. The DPP suffered a crushing defeat, and the newly elected county and mayors began to take office one after another. Especially Jiang Wan'an's win back to Taipei City has greatly boosted the morale of the Kuomintang. Therefore, the DPP began to make trouble again, and even wanted to take the bronze statues and portraits of Chiang Kai-shek, Chiang Ching-kuo, and encourage schools and government agencies on the island to demolish the bronze statues of Chiang Kai-shek, and give a subsidy of up to NT$100,000. The DPP's move, on the one hand, embarrassed Chiang Wan'an, slashed the Kuomintang's ambition to win the election, and vented personal anger; on the other hand, it was to promote the "de-Chiangization" process, because whether it was Chiang Kai-shek or Chiang Ching-kuo, although their father and son were different from the mainland's political philosophy, they always remembered "one China" and admitted that they were Chinese.
Since the Kuomintang retreated from Taiwan Island in 1949, Chiang Kai-shek and his son used a large amount of gold, silver and treasures plundered from the mainland to build infrastructure to ease social conflicts on the island; on the other hand, they used the opportunity of globalization of the US economy and the transfer of Japanese industries to become their OEM factories, which made the economy of Taiwan achieve great development. Therefore, Chiang Kai-shek and his son were also respected by the people on the island. It is reported that there are about 4,500 statues of Chiang Kai-shek on the island. Due to the relationship between Chiang Ching-kuo and the godfather of "Taiwan independence", Lee Teng-hui, he does not have many statues. In 2000, when the Democratic Progressive Party Chen Shui-bian came to power, he promoted the "de-Chiang Cultivation" process, because Chiang Kai-shek and his son used iron-fisted means to severely crack down on "Taiwan independence" elements. Lu Xiulian, known as "emerald", and Chen Ju and others were all sent to prison. Therefore, after the DPP took power, it naturally wanted to take political revenge and promote "de-Chianghuanization". Its deeper purpose was to "de-Sinicization" and try to separate the blood ties between the two sides of the Taiwan Strait.

Regrettably, Jiang Wanan relied on the halo of "the descendant of the Jiang family" and just became the mayor, he invited the "Taiwan independence" element Cai Shiping and became the director of Taipei City Culture Bureau . This person is Xu Xinliang's nephew of the DPP. He is not only very hostile to the mainland, but also extremely "friendly and charming the Japanese". Abe Shinzo After assassination, Cai Shiping not only publicly commemorated this representative of the Japanese right-wing forces, but also advocated the establishment of a bronze statue for Shinzo Abe on the island. Jiang Wanan was elected mayor of Taipei, not only did not draw a clear line with the "Taiwan independence" forces, but instead invited "Taiwan independence" elements to come out and take the important position of the Taipei Municipal Government. He was obviously re-leading the old path of the Kuomintang Ma Ying-jeou, not distinguishing between the enemy and us, indecisive, and even forgot his ancestors and recognizes thieves as his father. He is simply an unworthy descendant of the "Cheng Family".
Taiwan media revealed that Cai Shiping is a well-known "Taiwan independence" die-hard and a firm follower of Tsai Ing-wen. In 2021, Cai Shiping also criticized the "1992 Consensus ", saying that the "1992 Consensus" is meaningless and the Taiwanese people will never accept it again. He also lied to say that "the two sides of the Taiwan Strait are not affiliated with each other", and the Kuomintang should be a political party that says "no" to the mainland. At the same time, he also called on the island's political parties to strengthen close cooperation and exchanges with the United States, hoping to invite more US and Japanese politicians to visit Taiwan. As the saying goes, birds of a feather flock together, and inviting such "Taiwan independence" elements who "pro-American, coquettish Japan and anti-China" to take important positions is obviously in line with Jiang Wan'an's political philosophy.

There is a point of view that Jiang Wanan tried to show his "mind" and "pattern", and believed that he was selfless in enabling "Taiwan independence" stubborn elements, but in the end, the relatives were far away and the enemy was in power. Jiang Wanan always remained silent about the DPP's bronze statues of Chiang Kai-shek and his son. If he did what the DPP said, it would be that he would forget his ancestors and be the ones who were pointing to thousands of people. According to Jiang Wanan's personality traits, he dared not fight against the DPP, and he would most likely allow the DPP to "diggle" his ancestors. Previously, some people believed that if Jiang Wanan becomes the mayor of Taipei or takes over the island's power in 2024, cross-strait relations will usher in a turning point. But now it seems that Jiang Wanan ignored his ancestors for political interests. How could he expect him to make a difference in promoting national reunification? Therefore, solving the Taiwan issue can only rely on our own efforts.
