In 1937, Chen Bodada's revolutionary holy land Yan'an. During his time in Yan'an, he entered the Shaanxi Northern Public School to teach, and then served as vice president of the Marxist-Leninister College. He served as secretary for a total of 31 years and was the secretary who served the longest time around Chairman Mao.
Chen Boda has a strong theoretical level, which is beyond doubt. Otherwise, he would not have been able to serve as Chairman Mao’s secretary for a long time, and he would not have been in charge of the “propaganda” work. After the founding of New China, Chen Boda served as Minister of the Propaganda Department of the Central Committee. In 1966, after the beginning of the special period of ten years, Chen Boda's power reached its peak. He not only served as the group leader, but also was elected as a member of the Standing Committee and became a national-level cadre.
1970, Chen Boda supported the establishment of the President of the People's Republic of China at the Second Plenary Session of the Ninth Central Committee of the Communist Party of China held by our party. It is the same as the views of Huang Yongsheng, Wu Faxian, Qiu Huizuo and others, and is contrary to those of Chairman Mao. For this reason, Chen Boda was placed under house arrest during the Second Plenary Session of the Ninth Central Committee. At the end of the meeting, the Central Committee announced the decision to isolate and review Chen Boda, and since then, Chen Boda has been detained by the Central Guard Corps.
Chen Boda's detention changed the political landscape at that time. Yao Wenyuan, who was in Shanghai, was also transferred to Beijing and took over his position. Later, he became a member of the "Gang of Four" who harmed the country and the people. At the same time, at the end of the year when Chen Boda was detained, the North China Conference was held, the Beijing Military Region was reorganized, and Ji Dengkui also entered the Beijing Military Region and gradually gained a foothold in Beijing.
Back to Chen Boda. In 1971, on the day of the September 13 incident, Chen Boda was transferred to Qincheng Prison. In 1981, the Special Court of the Supreme People's Court held a trial of Chen Boda's case. During the trial, Chen Boda had a good attitude of admitting guilt. At the same time, he begged the special court to handle him leniently. He even said: "The entire case can be sentenced to death, but it may not be necessary. If it is not enough to quell the public's anger, then it is okay to kill (self)."
From Chen Boda's statement, we can see that he seriously reflected on his crimes. Because of his good attitude of admitting guilt, the Special Court of the Supreme People's Court announced that he was sentenced to 18 years in prison. Shortly after the verdict was announced, Chen Boda entered the Fuxing Hospital of the Ministry of Public Security for treatment. He also made contributions in the past. After confirming that the bail was released, Chen Boda first treated at Fuxing Hospital for a period of time, and soon afterwards he was transferred to the Friendship Hospital under the Beijing Public Security Bureau. After two months of hospitalization at Friendship Hospital, the hospital began to urge Chen Boda to be discharged. At that time, Beijing was slowly getting colder. Chen Boda wanted to find a heating bungalow, but it was difficult to find it. In the end, he could only be placed on the top floor of a six-story building in the new residential area of the eastern suburbs, with Chen Boda's son and daughter-in-law taking care of him. Although

In 1982, Huang Yongsheng's son wrote a letter to the central government, reflecting the problem that 100 yuan of living expenses were not enough. Most of the month is spent on buying books, and the rest is used for life. But Chen Boda is really fond of reading. Every time he comes across a relatively novel book, he will buy it regardless of the consequences, which leads to the continuous reduction of his expenses in life.
