Kang Sheng is an extremely complex and contradictory person. He was once an important leader of our country. In history, he has made contributions, but he has done many wrong things, so he has even bigger mistakes.
In December 1975, Kang Sheng was buried in Babaoshan after his death. Five years later, people took out what he had done, and soon his ashes were moved out of Babao Mountain, and some eulogies that were positively promoted were also eliminated.
So after Kang Sheng was condemned, what changes have happened to his wife and children's lives, and how are they doing now?
1. Kang Sheng’s original wife and two children
Kang Sheng was born in a landlord family in Shandong. The wealthy living environment since childhood gave him the opportunity to receive a better education. When he was 13 years old, Kang Sheng was sent by his father to Qingdao to study, and was exposed to many new ideas.
Although Kang Sheng's family is well off, he still has no right to choose free love and marriage. His parents are conservative and believe that a man can only bear the burden of the family after getting married early and having children.

17 years old, under the arrangement of his parents, Kang Sheng married Chen Yi, the daughter of Chen Yuzhen, the landlord of the same county. In this old-style marriage, there was no love at all. Both of them could only live together under the constraints of ethics.
After marriage, Chen Yi quickly gave birth to a boy and a girl for Kang Sheng. After the birth of the two children, Kang Sheng participated in the revolution outside and rarely went home. The couple actually remained separated for a long time.
The two children have been living with their mother Chen Yi. When their eldest daughter grew up, she married into a wife and lived a very peaceful life, so there is little news about Kang Sheng’s eldest daughter. Chen Yi, like her daughter, spent her peaceful old age in her hometown, and the media could hardly find any reports about her.

The eldest son Zhang Zishi was smart and hardworking since childhood. When he grew up, he was admitted to a good university in Shandong. When Kang Sheng was doing well in Beijing, he naturally brought his son to his side. His life was completely different from his sister. He once held important positions in politics and later became a member of the Standing Committee of Zhejiang Province.
However, as the world reveals Kang Sheng’s true face, Zhang Shizi, as his son, has naturally suffered a significant impact. He must not be able to stay in his original position. In February 1979, Zhang Shizi was dismissed due to his father's problem. Most of his life's efforts disappeared in an instant, and he could only go back to his hometown to become an ordinary person.
2. A series of mistakes made by Kang Sheng
In 1924, Kang Sheng left his hometown and went to Shanghai to study. He joined the Communist Party soon after, and at the same time he also met his second wife Cao Yiou. In 1927, the Kuomintang began to launch a clearance campaign against our party. Kang Sheng was forced to start working underground. Later, he was responsible for the intelligence and security work of Central Special Correspondence with Zhou Enlai, Chen Yun and others.

1933, Kang Sheng was sent to Comintern in Moscow , and during this period he had a very close relationship with Wang Ming . Four years later, Kang Sheng returned to Yan'an and worked in the Central Intelligence Agency. In the 1942 Yan'an Rectification Movement, Kang Sheng took the opportunity to use his power to characterize a large number of party members as traitors and traitors, and a large number of unjust cases were generated. Despite this, Kang Sheng was not affected after after rectification campaign.
On the eve of the founding of New China, Kang Sheng served as Secretary of the Party Committee of Shandong Dalunan District, Shandong Province, Secretary of the Shandong Branch of the CPC Central Committee, and Deputy Secretary of the East China Bureau of the CPC Central Committee. Later, Kang Sheng suffered a very serious injury due to an accident and continued to recuperate until he returned in 1956.
In that special movement, Kang Sheng had the opportunity to show his skills. He fabricated the crime for no reason and created many unjust cases again, defeating many older generation revolutionaries of our party.

Kang Sheng is a selfish person. During a special period, he was extremely ungrateful and took advantage of the people who helped him. So when his wrong behavior was exposed, everyone's attitude towards him took a sharp turn for the worse.
3. The second wife died alone in her old age
. Cao Yiou chose to marry Kang Sheng because the two met in revolutionary work and they had a common ideal. The two got married in 1927. Although the marriage lasted until Kang Sheng's death, it lasted for more than 50 years, Cao Yiou did not give birth to a son or half of his daughter for Kang Sheng.

When Cao Yiou, who was a worker, joined the revolution, he also held many important positions in the central government. In Kang Sheng's view, Cao Yiou is his "soul mate". When Kang Sheng's behavior was exposed, after investigation, it was found that his wife Cao Yiou was also involved, so Cao Yiou was quickly removed from his post.
Later, when Kang Sheng's ashes were moved out of Babao Mountain, Cao Yiou accompanied Kang Sheng's son Zhang Shizi to collect them. Because of her husband, the organization specially sent relevant personnel to accompany Cao Yiou. Generally, she could not contact others at will.

As Cao Yiou gets older, the organization specifically approved her nephew and grandson to take care of her daily life, while other family members have almost no contact with her. Cao Yiou was not in good health in his later years. Due to various diseases, her life was extremely miserable. 14 years after Kang Sheng's death, Cao Yiou also passed away and ended up living alone.
Conclusion
As Kang Sheng's close relative, while he was on the wrong path, his son Zhang Shizi and his wife Cao Yiou were not outsiders, and they were inseparable from the various crimes committed by Kang Sheng. In the end, he ended up like this and was worthy of it. I wonder if they thought they would pay a certain price for it one day.
