"Tang" is an ancient name in the Jin Dynasty, which generally refers to the central area of today's Shanxi Province. Legend has it that the monarch Yao in ancient my country was known as the "Tao Tang" clan. Li Hu, the grandfather of Emperor Gaozu of Tang, was one of the "Eight Pillar Kingdoms" of the Northern Zhou Dynasty. Because of his merits in the follower's fate, he was posthumously named "Duke of Tang". After Li Hu's death, the title was passed to Li Yuan. After Zhou Dynasty in the Sui Dynasty, Li Yuan served as the remaining position in Taiyuan. When he raised an army to rebel against the Sui Dynasty, Li Yuan called himself the "King of Tang" and later established himself as the emperor to establish the "Tang" dynasty. The Li family of the Tang Dynasty royal family was a military aristocrat in Longxi and has been a well-known family of military generals since the Qin Dynasty. Li Guang, the flying general of the Western Han Dynasty, belonged to this family. The "Old Book of Tang" and "New Book of Tang" record that the Tang Dynasty royal family was a descendant of the Taoist ancestor Li Er, and the founding emperor of the Tang Dynasty, Li Yuan, recognized the founding monarch of Xiliang of the sixteen countries as his distant ancestor. During the Northern Zhou Dynasty, the Li family was changed to "Ono family" as a newly established surname. After the fall of the Northern Zhou Dynasty, Emperor Wen of Sui Yang Jian restored him to the Li family.

In the late Sui Dynasty, a large-scale peasant uprising broke out, shaking the foundation of the rule of the Sui Dynasty. In May of the 13th year of Daye (617), Li Yuan, who believed that the time had come, raised an army in Jinyang. In November of that year, he contributed to Chang'an and supported Emperor Yang of Sui Yang to Emperor Gong of Sui, and changed his reign to Yining. Li Yuan was appointed as the prime minister and was granted the title of King of Tang. In May of the second year of Yining (618), Li Yuan abolished Yang You and formally called Emperor, and established the country as Tang, and the Sui Dynasty was destroyed. Li Yuan was Emperor Gaozu of Tang, and changed his reign to Wude and established his capital in Chang'an. Li Yuan made the eldest son Li Jian the crown prince, the second son Li Shimin the king of Qin, the third son Li Yuanba died young, and the fourth son Li Yuanji the king of Qi. After the establishment of the Tang Dynasty, Li Yuan ordered Li Shimin to fight everywhere and accomplished substantial unification. The Tang Dynasty was a prosperous and powerful era in our history. During the nearly 300 years of the Tang Dynasty ruled China, China's politics, economy, culture, social life and other aspects have undergone earth-shaking changes, and has been praised by historians of all generations.
