After growing up, Bo Yibo was admitted to Yan Xishan free normal school founded in Shanxi. After being exposed to new ideas, he began to publish progressive articles in newspapers. At the age of 17, Bo Yibo joined the Communist Party and has since learned a lot of knowledge about Marx and communism.
Although Bo Yibo was confused about these theoretical knowledge at that time, in his heart, his revolutionary belief was extremely firm. He led the students of the school to support the Taiyuan people's anti-housing tax struggle and the May 30th Movement. He established a party branch in the school as soon as he joined the party and became the branch secretary. took only half a year to let the party organization blossom everywhere in Taiyuan.
1927, the white terror swept many areas across the country, and many party members in Shanxi Province were persecuted by the enemy. Forced to the point of being helpless, Bo Yibo had to hide in the countryside and re-establish the Shanxi Provincial Party Committee organization. In such a harsh revolutionary environment, Bo Yibo has always been firm in his beliefs and actively participated in revolutionary activities.

20 years old, Bo Yibo, who became the Secretary-General of the Military Commission of the Northern Bureau, carried out military transportation in many places in the north and organized soldiers' riots. For this reason, he was arrested by the Kuomintang twice. In prison. Bo Yibo faced the enemy's various coercive use and torture. The five years of life in prison left Bo Yibo's body with irreparable pain.

In prison, Bo Yibo obtained a lot of information from the outside world by bribing the prison guards. He also read the report written by Chairman Mao and believed in the views and opinions put forward by Chairman Mao. Later, under the deployment of the party organization and the handling of all parties, Bo Yibo and more than 50 cadres from our party were released from prison.
