The documentary "Zhangkeng Diameter No. 76" created and filmed by Wang Zhaoyu is approaching the end of the creation. Soon, it will be presented to the citizens of Longhua . This patriotic anti-Japanese documentary tells the heroic deeds of the two patriotic pilots and martyrs Chen Guilin and Chen Guimin, a patriotic pilot in Jingshangwei Village, Zhangkeng, more than 80 years ago.
"Zhangkeng Diameter No. 76" is of great significance to Wang Zhaoyu. This is not only his debut work in the cross-border documentary filming, but also a precious "gift" he presented to the former homeowner as the tenant of No. 76. Although the smoke of war has long gone, the hero's story and fearless spirit of sacrifice are worthy of inheritance and commemoration.

Stories "hidden" by the old house
Stories start from 2016. That year, Wang Zhaoyu accidentally heard that Zhangkeng Jingshangwei Village was going to build an art village. On a whim, he and his friends came to Shangwei Village for a walk, and this time he fell in love with an old house. "No. 76 is located very well, with mountains behind and streams in front of the door. Looking inside through the crack of the door, there is also a small yard, which feels very similar to the environment of my hometown in Northeast China." In April 2016, despite his friend's objection, he signed an 8-year lease with the landlord and officially got married with No. 76. Wang Zhaoyu was once a photographer, often traveling to different shooting locations and taking satisfactory pictures as required. This kind of life should have continued until the landlord Chen Zhichang returned to the village and brought the patriotic stories of two pilots during the War of Resistance Against Japan and a book about the Air Force's War of Resistance. Everything began to change.
The first story fermented was at the end of 2017. Shangwei Art Village held the Shenzhen-Hong Kong Urban Architecture Biennale. The exhibition attracted many scholars and cultural celebrities to gather, including Liao Honglei, who was once the vice president of the Guangdong Folk Culture Research Association and the president of the Shenzhen Local Culture and Art Research Association. Liao Honglei was very interested in the story of the old house No. 76, and specially wrote a manuscript to publish it, which attracted the attention of many parties to the stories of pilots in the War of Resistance. Even so, Wang Zhaoyu did not participate in it in depth. "At that time, I didn't have much understanding and understanding of the history of the War of Resistance." The turning point of

During the days of staying at home, Wang Zhaoyu accidentally read the books left by the landlord and was deeply attracted by the content in the book. In order to fully understand the history of the Air Force's War of Resistance, Wang Zhaoyu purchased dozens of related books to make up for that period of history at home. As the research deepened, Wang Zhaoyu gradually realized the problem: "Most of the data on the two brothers' deeds are just a few words and lacks completeness." He began to think about how to supplement and improve the framework and make the story more complete. In this way, the idea of shooting a documentary came to his mind.

All touches and dedication are on the "road"
Wang Zhaoyu's idea was encouraged and supported by friends. They launched a crowdfunding campaign to shoot a documentary and raised the first start-up capital of more than 40,000 yuan.
For Wang Zhaoyu, funding is a problem for shooting documentaries, and what bothers him even more is his lack of documentary shooting knowledge. When filming a documentary, he is still a layman and needs more help from "foreign aid". Whether it is the collection and sorting of early data or the problems encountered in shooting and editing, Wang Zhaoyu's friends have given great help.
In 2019, Wang Zhaoyu learned that he could apply for special cultural and creative funding from the Longhua District Culture, Radio, Television, Tourism and Sports Bureau. He submitted a project application and was then selected to enter the roadshow stage. "At that time, there were as many as 100 projects, and only 10 optimal project roadshow were selected."Wang Zhaoyu recalled that there was a leader in the Southern Documentary among the judges at that time. Shen Xiaoli told Wang Zhaoyu that to do a good job in this big project, I need to prepare for advance funds by myself at any time. "I said that even if the application was not successful and the project could not receive a penny of support, I must insist on getting this done. "Wang Zhaoyu believes that the significance of completing the creation of "Zhangkeng Diamond No. 76" is greater than anything else. In the end, "Zhangkeng Diamond No. 76" won with the first place in the roadshow, which further strengthened Wang Zhaoyu's confidence in creating good works.
In the past three years, Wang Zhaoyu put down all the advertising shooting business and devoted himself to documentary shooting and creation. The documentary that was originally planned to be filmed in one and a half years was delayed again and again due to the impact of the epidemic. "It is easy to find places, but people can't make an appointment. I have contacted the filming in Lanzhou for more than 10 times. "Guangzhou, Chongqing, Chengdu, Nanjing, Yunnan, Lanzhou... Wang Zhaoyu kept walking, visited many places, and found the most precious records of the two brothers Chen Guilin and Chen Guimin from the historical fragments buried in time. He used the lens to trace back the tragic history of the War of Resistance, and restored the real and vivid life stories of the two brothers.
" The younger brother Chen Guimin made many meritorious achievements, and was promoted to the third level of the captain, and was awarded one-star and two-star medals. He is also one of the nine younger brothers whom Lin Huiyin loves. When Chen Guimin's death notice and relics were sent to Lin Huiyin, Lin Huiyin was very sad and cried bitterly. "Wang Zhaoyu shared what he heard and thought when he was looking for the truth in the historical sinking. Among them, there is also a detailed Air Force combat record in the story of his brother Chen Guilin. "When the plane takes off at what time and the participation in the war are recorded clearly. Currently, documentaries are divided into two versions, 90 minutes in a long and 60 minutes in a short film. When the 90-minute version was first released, many professionals thought that the story line was mature, but the image shooting picture was rough. After absorbing the suggestions, Wang Zhaoyu finely polished the documentary and launched a 60-minute short story. "The shooting process of documentaries is actually a process of continuous improvement of his personal abilities. By filming this documentary, I have also enhanced my feelings for family and country. The current era of peace and happiness is exchanged for the blood price paid by the group of young people more than 80 years ago. We will not forget it, nor can we forget it. "

The ancients once said, "I don't learn art in my life forty." Wang Zhaoyu believes that this sentence is not appropriate today. "I transformed into a documentary director at the age of 40. This is my repositioning in my life plan. The times are changing, and documentaries are the best way to record the changes in the times." Wang Zhaoyu said that he has traveled to many cities, but Shenzhen is the only one that he likes and loves the most, because Shenzhen's greatest charm is that it can enable people who persist in their own lives to realize their dreams.
In 2020, Shen Xiaoli was introduced to Longhua as a famous cultural genius and settled in Shangwei Art Village. He became Wang Zhaoyu's neighbor, providing greater convenience for him to "seek the scriptures". Having a documentary instructor around Wang Zhaoyu feels relieved and makes him more confident in in-depth research on documentary shooting. Not only that, he also hopes that relying on the series of cultural activities planned and carried out by the studio platform of the famous cultural artist Shen Xiaoli will arouse the interest of Longhua youth in documentary shooting, so as to join this team, and together with him and more like-minded directors, record the good stories of Longhua and convey the good voice of Longhua.
