In January 1951, the second battle of Resisting U.S. Aggression and Aiding Korea won a complete victory. The precarious situation on the Korean Peninsula was reversed, and the whole country was in jubilation.
Premier Zhou asked someone to send a telegram of about a hundred words to Chairman Mao’s desk along with the good news. This telegram, which was detained by Premier Zhou for more than a month, was written by President Peng himself, but Chairman Mao had read it for decades.
Mao Anying
This telegram comes from North Korea. The protagonist of the telegram is the eldest son of the chairman - Mao Anying.
Mao Anying was born on October 24, 1922. Due to the needs of the revolution, Mao Zedong rarely had time to accompany him.
Under the white terror of the whole country, Yang Kaihui and his son were living on the edge of a knife all day long under the pursuit of the reactionaries. When Mao Anying was eight years old, his mother Yang Kaihui was killed by the reactionaries.
As the eldest son of the family, Mao Anying, who is eight years old, is now in the second grade. takes his two younger brothers Mao Anying and Mao Anying to make a living in Shanghai.
At that time, due to the betrayal of a traitor, the underground party organization in Shanghai was destroyed, so the organization could only arrange "good-minded people" in the dark to give them some help.
Because if I received it from the organization at this time, I am afraid that the life of the three brothers of the Mao family would be even more dangerous.
Eight-year-old Mao Anying and his younger brother Mao Anying have experienced the hardships of the world when they are young.
But they did not bow to their miserable fate, and were oppressed in time, and lived in time with darkness. The two brothers also squeezed out their own money to buy books to read.
As the eldest son, Mao Anying took on a lot of responsibilities as his elder brother. During his time in Shanghai, what made him most uncomfortable was that his younger brother Mao Anyong was lost.
At that time, Mao Anyong got sick and had a fever due to difficult conditions. In order to treat my younger brother's illness, Mao Anying and Mao Anying got up early and went out to work late to make money, and finally got the money to buy medicine for my younger brother.
But on this day, Mao Anying, who returned to his residence, found that his younger brother was missing.
searched around, but there was no younger brother at all, which made the young Mao Anying feel very guilty and repeatedly thought that he had let down his mother's entrust.
In fact, Mao Anyong was rescued by an underground party member who was secretly protected. The underground party member saw that his younger brother was seriously ill and could not show up directly, so he had to take Mao Anyong away as the opportunity.
Zhou Enlai and Deng Yingchao visited Mao Anying's brothers in the Soviet Union. But not long after, because of the traitor, the underground party member was arrested, and Mao Anyong lost his whereabouts.
As the revolutionary situation gradually stabilized, the Kuomintang and the Communist Party began to cooperate again after the Xi'an Incident. Mao Anying and Mao Anying were quickly taken away by the party organization, and, under the arrangement of the organization, went to the Soviet Union to study in 1936.
The Soviet Union at that time was a revolutionary holy place that people were fascinated by. 5-year-old Mao Anying finally had the opportunity to study steadily.
In the first few years of studying in the Soviet Union, Mao Anying seized every opportunity to enrich himself and wrote letters to discuss and study with his father many times.
But a few years later, the German Nazis launched a war to invade the Soviet Union, and a peaceful and peaceful life was once again broken.

In June 1941, The Soviet Patriotic War broke out, and the German tank group caught the Soviet Union off guard and soon came to the city of Moscow.
frontline Red Army is in a tight position, and the students from the children's courtyard where Mao Anying is located are sent to dig trenches. At that time, the cold winter in Moscow was more than minus forty degrees below zero, and the ground was frozen as hard as stones.
However, Mao Anying, who has lived a relatively comfortable life for several years, did not abandon his hard-working spirit, and never said he was suffering. Even if he was injured, he would simply bandage and continue working.
The war was right in front of us, Mao Anying thought of his mother and his motherland, which was also trapped in the war.
At that time, he had not graduated from high school yet, so he took the initiative to find the teacher, saying that he would give up learning technology first, and firmly expressed that he would learn military affairs.
At that time, the school did not agree with Mao Anying's idea, but how could Mao Anying surrender easily?
In order to achieve his goal of joining the army, Mao Anying directly wrote a sincere petition to the Supreme Command of the Soviet Union to the Supreme Leader of the Soviet Union Stalin .
But at that time, the European War was anxious, and Stalin didn't have time to read these letters, so Mao Anying wrote one more letter after another.
Until a Soviet general came to the Children's Court to inspect and looked at the majestic Soviet general in front of him.
Mao Anying stood up and expressed his intention to learn military affairs, and said that he was Mao Zedong's son, who wanted to fight side by side with the Soviets and fight the German Nazis together.
Seeing that the young man was so brave, the general agreed to his request.
From the Suya No. CA School to the Lenin Military and Political School in Moscow, Mao Anying soon became a lieutenant officer of the Soviet Red Army and joined the Communist Party of the Soviet Union.
In 1943, after the victory of the Battle of Stalingrad in , Mao Anying and a group of young Soviet officers, , were inspected on Red Square , participated in the Soviet counterattack as the instructor of the First Front Army of Belarus and the Tank Force Company.
From Polish Czech Republic, Mao Anying fought with the army to Berlin, witnessing the red flag flying over the German parliament with his own eyes.
Shortly after the end of World War II , Mao Anying returned to China after his studies and worked with his father in Yan'an for 17 months. He worked as a farmer in northern Shaanxi to carry out land reform, and his work was quite effective.
When Peiping Peacefully Liberated , Mao Anying, who had battlefield experience, brought mine-sweeping experts and engineer platoons to enter Peiping for mine-sweeping.
After the founding of New China, Mao Anying stayed in Beijing to continue working and got married. At this moment, war broke out on the Korean Peninsula.
In October 1950, in view of the victory of UN Army in the Korean battlefield, tank even drove to the Yalu River side, and the US military even used bombers to bomb my country's Dandong region.
There are many cases of cold teeth in history. In the critical moment of survival, the Party and the country decided to send troops to North Korea to not only save North Korean brothers from water and fire, but also to protect the new republic. The commander who was responsible for commanding the battle in Korea was Peng Dehuai.
Peng Dehuai
After receiving the order in the face of danger, Chairman Mao invited General Peng to have a meal at Juxiang Bookstore to give him a farewell party. At the dinner table, Mao Anying, who was accompanying him, asked if he could bring him with him, and he also wanted to go to the Korean battlefield to contribute to the country.
President Peng was initially worried, thinking that North Korea was too dangerous and he didn't know if he could win in the past, so he suggested that Mao Anying devote himself to construction in China, which can be regarded as a contribution to the country.
Mao Anying continued earnestly in his words that he had fought wars when he was in the Soviet Union, fighting all the way from the Soviet Union to Berlin, and he was also a lieutenant of the Soviet Union, and he could speak multiple languages.
President Peng didn't know what to say for a moment, so he had to look at Chairman Mao, hoping that he would persuade his son. But Chairman Mao’s view is the same as Mao Anying.
and believe that in North Korea, if you deal with the Soviets and Americans, you will definitely need a translation. There are not many such talents in China, and Mao Anying can fill the gap.
Seeing the father and son sing together, Mr. Peng understood what they meant and agreed readily. After the confirmation of
, Mao Anying quickly handed over the work, said goodbye to his newly married wife for less than a year, and entered the army and entered North Korea with General Peng.
General Peng repeatedly stated that Mao Anying is the first volunteer soldier of . After entering North Korea, Mao Anying quickly devoted himself to his hard work. In the Volunteer Army Headquarters, no one except General Peng knew that the diligent young man in front of him was Chairman Mao’s eldest son.
In November 1950, the first battle ended successfully. Soviet ambassador to North Korea Yu Jin Il-sung came to the Volunteer Army Headquarters together to meet with General Peng, and Mao Anying was the translator.
With the help of Mao Anying, the "Soviet Unit", the talks between the two sides were carried out very smoothly. This made many staff members in the Volunteer Army Command look at him with admiration, and many even asked Mr. Peng privately who this was.
President Peng basically smiled but said nothing. Although the first battle was won, the gap between our army and the US army in the sky was too great.
detected that the radio signals were too dense in Dayu Cave, so he speculated that this was the headquarters of the Volunteer Army, so he began to send planes to reconnaissance and conduct tentative strafing.
China Chairman Mao and Premier Zhou also understood the effectiveness of US military aircraft, so they called many times, asking for dispersing radio stations, changing their stations frequently, and strengthening the headquarters' air defense, but they were still one step late.
On November 24, as soon as Chairman Mao’s telegram arrived, the Volunteer Army Headquarters held a meeting to prepare for evacuation on the 25th.
At dawn the next day, after General Peng and others arrived at the air raid shelter, they began to study the problems of the second battle. At this time, the US military plane arrived.
Since No. 25 has just begun to disperse various departments to go to the air-raid shelter, there are still some things in the original cave that have not been processed.
Mao Anying and other staff members worked overtime until late on the night of the 24th. They got up together on the morning of the 25th and before they had time to eat, they began to prepare the materials needed for the second battle.
At eleven o'clock on the 25th, four US military planes flew in to bomb. At that time, four people in the office, including Mao Anying, ran out safely.
After the US military plane flew away, Mao Anying and four others returned to the office to get it because there were still some important documents in the office.
But who knew that at this moment, four more US military planes suddenly rushed in. Nearly a hundred napalm bombs fell from the sky, except for two staff officers running out. Mao Anying and another staff officer, Gao Ruixin, failed to escape and died unfortunately.
After the US military left, people put out the fire. There were two burnt corpses in the fire, and the identities of the two could no longer be identified. finally relied on the watch given by Mao Anying's mother-in-law on his wrist and barely recognized it.
When he learned the news, General Peng was deeply saddened and decided to draft the telegram himself. President Peng locked himself in the house alone and came out after more than an hour, but the telegram was only more than a hundred words:
Military Commission and Gao (Gang) and He (Jinnian): We entered the air-raid shelter at 7 o'clock today, and Mao Anying and three staff officers were in the house. When four enemy planes passed by at 11 o'clock, the four of them had already come out. After the enemy planes of
, the four of them returned to the house. Suddenly, four more enemy planes came, dropped nearly 100 incendiary bombs and hit the house.
At that time, two staff officers ran out. Mao Anying and Gao Ruixin were burned to death before they could run out, and no other losses were made. Shishi was 16:00 on the 25th.
When the telegram came to Chairman Mao, Premier Zhou stopped the telegram first.
He knew very well that as the eldest son of the Chairman, Mao Anying's death was a big blow to the Chairman.
At that time, the situation of the Volunteer Army entering North Korea was still unclear. Although he won the first battle, the next second battle was crucial.
For global considerations, Premier Zhou and Liu Shaoqi discussed and decided to deduct the telegram first.
until January 1951, under the effective command of General Peng and the volunteer army spent their lives , the second battle was won completely, and the situation on the Korean battlefield was basically reversed.
So Premier Zhou sent the telegram of Mao Anying's sacrifice to the Chairman and attached his own explanation.
When the telegram and instructions were sent to Chairman Mao's office via the director of the Central Confidential Office Ye Zilong . Chairman Mao, who was reading books and newspapers on the sofa, fell into silence for a long time.
He couldn't believe that his son had actually died for more than a month. As a father, he misses his son.
But as the leader of the Republic, he was proud that the country had such soldiers. Chairman Mao's hands were slightly trembling and his eyes were a little wet, but in the end he just sighed.
said softly to Ye Zilong beside him: "War, there are always sacrifices, it's nothing."
One month later, General Peng took advantage of the battle to return to Beijing to report on the Korean War. After meeting Chairman Mao, General Peng first reported on some specific situations and difficulties on the Korean battlefield.
After saying this, General Peng took out the relics from Mao Anying's hand and told Chairman Mao about the details of Mao Anying's sacrifice.
For Mr. Peng, this has always been a knot in his heart.
Chairman Mao listened quietly to President Peng and told him that it is normal to sacrifice in war. So many outstanding children on the front line have sacrificed. Mao Anying is also an ordinary soldier. He cannot be regarded as a big event because of his sacrifice. After saying that, Chairman Mao repeatedly reminded Mr. Peng to air defense issue.
After the end of the Korean War, the General Cadre Department of the People's Liberation Army proposed to transport Mao Anying's body back to China for burial.
However, General Peng did not agree with this opinion and wrote to Premier Zhou to explain the relevant situation. After learning the news, Chairman Mao also agreed with General Peng's opinion.
Chairman Mao said that loyal bones are buried everywhere in the green mountains, so why do you need to return the body by wrapping the horse and corpse? As the eldest son of the leader of the Republic, burying Mao Anying in North Korea played an immeasurable role in the friendship between China and North Korea.
Now, the War to Resist U.S. Aggression and Aid Korea has been victorious for many years, and we will also usher in the 100th birthday of the martyr Mao Anying.
Although Mao Anying is Chairman Mao’s eldest son, he is also an ordinary soldier in the Republic. Like Mao Anying, in his beautiful years in his twenties, countless volunteer martyrs died on the Korean battlefield.
If it weren’t for their bloody battles and their sacrifices, how could our nation have been brilliant today, and how could our country be prosperous and strong!
pays our highest respect to the martyrs who sacrifice their precious lives to the country and the people! ! !
