Suzhou City is one of the 16 prefecture-level cities in Anhui Province. It is located in the northern part of Anhui Province. It connects Henan, Jiangsu and other provinces. Its geographical location is very important. In 2021, the total population of Suzhou City is more than 5.3 million. In 2021, Suzhou City's total GDP will be more than 210 billion. At that time, Lingbi County and Si County were under the management of Sizhou. As for Xiaoxian and Dangshan County, it is under the management of Xuzhou Prefecture in Jiangsu Province. In 1912, the Qing Dynasty, which had ruled for more than 200 years, fell into a complex period of warlord melee. Anhui Province connects the north and south, and warlords in various places repeatedly fought, causing great damage to various parts of Anhui. In a blink of an eye, it was the early stage of the founding of the People's Republic of China. At the beginning of the founding of the People's Republic of China, for the needs of actual management, Yongcheng County in Henan Province, Xiao County and Dangshan County in Jiangsu Province were temporarily assigned to the management of the Northern Anhui Administration. As the situation stabilizes, overly complex zoning is not conducive to economic development. In 1952, the northern and southern Anhui Administration Districts were abolished and reorganized into Anhui Province. At the same time, Yongcheng County was returned to Henan Province, Xiao County and Dangshan County were returned to Jiangsu Province, and everything returned to the previous situation.
At this time, the division of Suxian special area has been adjusted to 6 counties. A few months later, the Suxian District established , Banxi County based on several townships, and adjusted it to 7 counties. In 1955, in order to manage the need to manage the Hongze Lake , Sihong County and Xuyi County in Anhui Province were included in the management of Jiangsu Province. In return, Xiaoxian and Dangshan County in Jiangsu Province were placed in the Suxian District for the second time and basically stabilized. Of course, Xiaoxian and Dangshan County have a deep friendship with Xuzhou .
, especially Xiaoxian, is adjacent to the main urban area of Xuzhou, and it only takes about half an hour to drive. With the entry of Xiaoxian and Dangshan County, the Suxian District has a total of 8 counties under its jurisdiction. In 1956, the Suxian Special District was abolished, and all the eight counties under its jurisdiction were assigned to the Bengbu Special District for management. In the 1950s and 1960s, my country's transportation and communication levels were limited, and there were too many districts and counties managed, which was not conducive to management. In 1961, Anhui Province re-established the Suxian District, and eight counties with the principle of management were still in place.
1964, Suxian District established Guzhen County based on several townships, and the number of counties under its jurisdiction was adjusted to 9. In the late 1960s, all special zones across the country were renamed to regions, and Suxian special zones were renamed to Suxian area, and the zoning pattern under their jurisdiction remained unchanged. In order to strengthen the jurisdiction and overall strength of Huaibei City, in 1977, Suxian County, managed by Suxian, was included in Huaibei City's management, and the number of counties under its jurisdiction was adjusted to 8.

In 1998, the Suxian area was abolished and Suzhou prefecture-level city was established. At the same time, Suzhou county-level city was abolished and Yanqiao District was established.
