"Look at this horse face wall, it has no 90-degree angle, and is replaced by an oblique plane, which is both beautiful and practical. We call it 'bending corner'." Tian Minghuai's explanation made several tourists laugh.
Tai Minghuai, who temporarily came as a commentator, is the deputy director of the Shuanglin Temple Color Sculpture Art Museum in Pingyao County, Shanxi Province, and is in charge of the safety work in the museum.
In 1990, Tian Minghuai, who was 24 years old at the time, applied for the "National Retention" Ancient Architecture Shuanglin Temple . Over the past 32 years, from temporary staff to formal staff to security section chief and deputy director, controlling fire for Shuanglin Temple has been his main job.
Shuanglin Temple, located in the southwest of in Pingyao County, is known as the "Treasure House of Oriental Color Sculptures Art". In 1988, it was announced as a national-level key cultural relics protection unit . In 1997, it was included in the World Heritage List together with Pingyao Ancient City Wall and Zhenguo Temple and other major attractions.
Shuanglin Temple opened early and was officially opened in 1979. At that time, from Taiyuan Jin Temple to the south to Pingyao , only two famous attractions, Jin Temple and Shuanglin Temple, were open to the public. At that time, Tian Minghuai, who was a teenager, became more fascinated by Shuanglin Temple.
Because his father died unexpectedly in his early years, Tian Minghuai, who had finished junior high school, did not continue to study. He was introduced to him and found a temporary job with a monthly income of 90 yuan.
In 1990, it was learned that Shuanglin Temple was recruiting temporary staff, and Tian Minghuai signed up and was hired as soon as possible. However, his monthly salary was reduced from 90 yuan to 60 yuan.
"It doesn't matter if the salary is low, it's mainly because I am happy." Tian Minghuai said that he was able to join a long-lasting unit and could wear a security uniform as soon as he went to work. "I feel that he exudes aura from the inside to the outside."
After joining the job, Tian Minghuai worked in the commodity circulation department of Shuanglin Temple for one year and was responsible for managing the Bodhisattva Hall, thus starting his 32-year fire control work.
"At that time, the concept of fire safety was still unfamiliar to many people, including me." Tian Minghuai said that the first time he heard this concept, he felt it was fresh, but he didn't feel it deeply.
As time passed, Tian Minghuai realized: "Cultural relics and ancient buildings cannot be renewed, and the most feared thing is fire. We have the obligation to protect the precious heritage left by our ancestors, so that we can be worthy of our ancestors and our descendants."
In 1994, Tian Minghuai was formally hired by Shuanglin Temple for his conscientious work and outstanding performance, and served as the head of the security section two years later.
At that time, the fire protection facilities in Shuanglin Temple were lacking. In order to ensure the safety of cultural relics and ancient buildings, Tian Minghuai was ordered to further improve fire prevention measures, and organize staff to conduct uninterrupted inspections of the entire temple every day to dissuade smoking and standardize incense burning.
The fire protection facilities of Shuanglin Temple were perfected in 1998. In the same year, the State Administration of Cultural Heritage allocated special funds for Shuanglin Temple, laid a fire pipeline network, built a 200 cubic meters of fire water pool , and installed 3 submersible pumps and 6 fire hydrants .
"At that time, our security department staff had fire fighting suit . (formerly) Pingyao County Public Security Fire Brigade regularly sent people to guide us in daily training and fire fighting drills." Tian Minghuai recalled that because everyone could realize the great responsibility they shoulder, the training and drills were very serious.
"There is no best fire safety work, only better." Tian Minghuai, who understands this principle, is limited by his educational level. He can't surf the Internet or type. Sometimes it is very difficult to make an emergency plan .
"Only by loving a job can you have the motivation to do it well. Even if you encounter difficulties, it is not a problem to overcome them." Tian Minghuai first studied for a secondary school degree, and then studied for a college degree. Usually, he would "twist" young people to learn to surf the Internet, type, make pictures, and make tabs.
"The fire emergency plan and various systems and regulations produced by Lao Tian draw on many advanced experiences in similar places, and many of them are written by him in one word or another." Gong Yu, the captain of Tian Minghuai's learning ability, praised him very much.
In the eyes of colleagues, Tian Minghuai is synonymous with "dedication and dedication".The work characteristics of security personnel in tourist attractions are "the more holidays, the busier they are." During holidays, he had to lead the staff to run around the fire line.
In 32 years of fire control, Tian Minghuai only took 10 days off, because his mother passed away. "My mother often warned me to 'talk less and do more' and not be afraid of suffering and fatigue. He has had a deep influence on me."
When talking about my mother, Tian Minghuai choked up several times. After calming down, he looked at the ground and said to himself: "I have been working for 32 years, and there has been no fire in Shuanglin Temple. My old mother should be relieved if she knows it."
In 2017, under the guidance of Pingyao County Fire Rescue Brigade, Shuanglin Temple officially set up a micro fire station, recruiting 6 full-time firefighters, and adding additional support to the fire control work.
"Walking in the fire fighting uniform on the spot, start!" On the afternoon of September 20, Tian Minghuai once again organized firefighters to carry out training. These well-trained firefighters have won excellent rankings twice in the micro fire station competition organized by the Jinzhong Fire Rescue Detachment.
"It's time for (fire prevention) patrol, and the same sentence is still the case, check it carefully." The setting sun was as bloody as Tian Minghuai and the firefighters walking between the halls, their figures were pulled for a long time.
