1971 was crucial for Hua Guofeng. In this year, he arrived in Beijing under the arrangement of central staff and was about to enter the central government and take over the new job. Of course, he himself was also very clear, and all this was due to Chairman Mao.
Hua Guofeng entered the central government and began to deal with a series of matters of the State Council, accepting the Minister of Public Security... and other series of work, and it is also the time when Chairman Mao, who is no longer young, is considering his successor. But the choice of the successor cannot be accomplished overnight, and it is destined to be a long, changeable and complex process. This future successor must not only be capable but also have a sincere heart. At this time, Hua Guofeng would not have thought that he would be elected as a candidate. He only knew how to do things in his position. The Chairman, who he didn't know, has been paying close attention to him. In this process, the Chairman found that he had political ability and , and he was able to accomplish many things well; secondly, in his eyes, he was the representative of "honest man", which is something Chairman Mao valued very much; in addition, the old man found that he was a person who could be harmonious with comrades, and both the newly appointed cadres and the older generation of revolutionaries praised him. Therefore, in January 1976, which was also the last year in his life, he clearly pointed out that Hua should take the lead. He also told people around him that he knew that Hua thought he was lacking in his level, so he insisted that Hua give it a try.
After that, Hua naturally became the "wise leader", and the short-lived Hua Guofeng era was staged in the torrent of history.
Many people are puzzled, why did the Chairman choose Hua? In fact, this showed signs as early as 1955. This is the fourth year that Hua has been transferred to Xiangtan as the county party secretary. Perhaps it is because he is a parent in the chairman’s hometown, which is different in itself, or perhaps it is because his honest and simple qualities deeply attracted Chairman Mao. In short, during those years, when the Chairman went to Hunan for inspection, he always asked him to report on his work. And his down-to-earth image penetrated the Chairman's heart. The Chairman was very happy about this young man. In October 1955, the enlarged meeting of the Sixth Plenary Session of the Seventh Central Committee of the Communist Party of China was held truthfully, and the Chairman made an exception and invited Hua to attend. Just making an exception is enough to show that the Chairman favors China. During the meal, he, who is already 62 years old, joked to the 34-year-old Hua that Hua is also his parents.
These affirmations are also favorable conditions for Hua to rise to the top.
