Looking at the Founding Ceremony in historical photos, and looking at the deceased ancestors in the photos, I still have a deep admiration in my heart. It was their bloody battle that led to the scenes recorded in history like the Founding Ceremony, and our current stable and prosperous society. 1949, with the victory of the three major battles of , the Communist Party of China ushered in a decisive victory. The Kuomintang's domestic power could no longer cause any major waves. Therefore, relevant leaders of the Party and the country began to prepare for the establishment of the new China. The selection of the national flag, setting the national anthem and formulating various national systems were put on the agenda, and the founding ceremony was gradually put on the agenda, and finally decided to hold the founding ceremony on October 1st. As Chairman Mao said in the Tiananmen Square, "The People's Republic of China was founded", the founding of New China marked the complete turn of the Chinese people as their masters. However, in Taiwan at this time, Chiang Kai-shek was listening to the radio and missing the days when he was in power.

In fact, after Chiang Kai-shek retreated to Taiwan, he had been planning to counterattack the mainland. Therefore, at that time, there were many Kuomintang spies constantly sending the latest information to Taiwan. When the founding ceremony was being prepared, Chiang Kai-shek formulated a plan to bomb Tiananmen , but why was it not implemented at that time?

After the liberation of Peking, the Kuomintang's ambition was not dead. In the chaotic situation at that time, many spy intelligence personnel were left behind. These people lurked in the mainland with various identities. The mission was to spy on the political, economic, and military intelligence of the people's government. It was these large number of intelligence personnel, so Chiang Kai-shek, who was far away in Taiwan, knew the preparations for the founding ceremony. Therefore, at the beginning, a bombing plan was formulated and a long-range bomber equipped with B-24 Liberator Liberator bombers to bomb Tiananmen Square. You must know that our army's air defense capabilities were very poor and they could not detect and shoot down these bombers in time, so the bombing plan at that time was still very likely to be successful. You should know that Peking was bombed by the Kuomintang five months before the founding ceremony.

During the founding ceremony, important national leaders and foreign guests lived on the Tiananmen Gate Tower. Once bombed, the consequences would inevitably be unimaginable. However, on the morning of October 1st, when the pilots were already rubbing their hands and preparing to do a big fight, they received an order planned to cancel the plan by the commander of the Kuomintang Air Force Zhou Zhirou. It turned out that Qingdao Airport, the closest airport to Peking, had been liberated in June, so the Kuomintang could only take off and land aircraft from Zhoushan Islands . At that time, the B24 bomber equipped by the Kuomintang army was named the title of Air Overlord, with a maximum range of 5,152 kilometers. Even if it was loaded with 5,000 pounds of bombs, the range could reach 3,700 kilometers, while the range from Zhoushan Islands to Beijing was only 1,300 kilometers, and the range was more than enough.

All plans are perfect, but in the end there was a time problem. The Kuomintang received the intelligence that the founding ceremony started at 3 pm, and the speed of the B24 was 480 kilometers per hour, which took about three hours to go from Zhoushan Islands to Beijing. In this way, the aircraft could not return until dark after performing the bombing mission, and the B24's night flight capability was also very poor. If it was intercepted by the People's Liberation Army aircraft, it would probably be wiped out.

But none of these could stop Chiang Kai-shek's determination to bomb the founding ceremony. So the commander of the National Army negotiated with South Korea, which had just been independent and not stable at the time, hoping to land in Seoul after completing the mission. Seoul only reaches Beijing for only 850 kilometers, which can ensure a safe landing. Originally, South Korea had agreed to the Kuomintang's request. At that time, he was furious when the then South Korean President Lee Seung-moon found out and firmly disagreed with the request to land in Seoul and did not dare to cause trouble for himself.

In this way, B24 bombing Tiananmen is suicide-like. The Kuomintang pilots are no more brainwashed than Japanese pilots. Suicidal bombing does not rule out that some pilots will turn against each other directly. In addition, Chiang Kai-shek believes that even if the bombing is successful, it will not change the reality of the failure of the mainland war situation. So at the last moment, Chiang Kai-shek issued an order to cancel the action to Zhou Zhirou.
