A young guard handed a big bowl to the commander-in-chief. This was a bowl of rice porridge. The porridge is so rare that people can see it. The commander-in-chief looked at it and frowned and asked, "Where did this come from?" The guard of

Commander-in-chief said gently, "Send it to the patient. I eat beef bones and cook wild vegetables, which is very nutritious." After

——I believe everyone is familiar with the text above. It’s not bad. This is a paragraph from the article “Grass Dinner” in the junior high school Chinese textbook.
"Meadow Dinner"
This article introduces the story of Liu Jian, the author of the article: she saved Kang Keqing three times, and confronted Zhang Guotao twice. She was introduced by Commander-in-Chief Zhu De, and was called "sister-in-law" by Premier Zhou Enlai.
(I) A miserable woman saves a miserable woman
Liu Jian's real name is Xiao Chengying. He was born on July 27, 1919 in Tieshan Village, Guangna Town, Tongjiang County, Sichuan Province. The Xiao family was not ordinary poor, so that when Liu Jian was 9 years old, he had to go out to "work" and went to the landlord's house to be a maid, which was a hardship. It was not until she was 12 that fate turned around.
In December 1932, the Red Fourth Front Army entered Sichuan, liberated Tongjiang , and Guangna Town also ushered in dawn. Red Army When recruiting soldiers in the countryside, Liu Jian, who was smart and individual, fled from the landlord's house and resolutely joined the Red Army.
Although I am only 12 years old, this girl is not simple. Of course, girls of this age cannot go to the battlefield to fight. Liu Jian went to the army to do propaganda work. Because Liu Jian came out to work and support himself since childhood, he was able to endure hardships and work hard; and because she was bullied by landlords, she was firm in revolution and was very active in work; in addition, she was quick-talking, versatile, able to sing, singing, singing, playing Lotus Falling , playing Quickselling , etc., and doing a very good job in publicity. So she joined the Communist Youth League the next year, and soon after joined the party when she was under 14 years old.
Liu Jian in that era was also considered a "storm figure". At the age of 14, she was in full swing and was appointed as the Minister of Women's Department of Sichuan and Shaanxi Provincial Party Committee, and her future is limitless.
Liu Jian’s Women’s Minister should be conscientious and responsible. Once when she went downstairs to inspect the work, the director of the Political Department of the Red 11th Division asked her to solve a problem. It is said that there is a small soldier named Zhou Kuwa of their division. He has many quirks and is very unsociable. Other baby soldiers like to play, and he never participates; baby soldiers sometimes play the game of taking off their pants, but Zhou Kuwa hates this very much, and he gets very angry if he is stripped off his pants; Zhou Kuwa doesn't even take off his clothes when he sleeps, and sleeps in long pants...
The director of the Political Department suspected that Zhou Kuwa was a girl, but the other party did not admit it, so he asked Liu Jian to help solve the problem. Liu Jian then talked to Zhou Kuwa. Both of them were miserable people, so she put herself in her shoes and patiently impressed each other with her true feelings. In the end, Zhou Kuwa admitted her daughter.
It turns out that Zhou Kuwa's life is even more difficult. He has been a child bride since he was a child. Because he could not stand the abuse of his parents-in-law, he secretly ran out to join the army. Because she was young and was afraid that the Red Army would not want it, she cut off her hair and disguised herself as a man.
"Who, modern Mulan!" Liu Jian also praised Zhou Kuwa. But she also instructed Zhou Kuwa that now that men and women are equal to each other, there is no need to continue like this, so she showed her true face and transferred her to the Women's Independence Camp.
It can be said that Liu Jian saved Zhou Kuwa once, because this was not ancient times. Everyone wore loose clothes, so it was easy for women to disguise. Besides, Zhou Kuwa is not Mulan after all, and she has outstanding martial arts skills. After becoming a general, she has many opportunities to be alone. If Zhou Kuwa continues to disguise, it will be very detrimental to his physical and mental health.
(II) Rescue Kang Keqing
Liu Jian was later talked about that on the Long March Road, she had saved Commander-in-Chief Zhu De's wife Comrade Kang Keqing three times.
In March 1935, Liu Jian, who was under 16 years old, resolutely followed the army on the long journey of the Long March.
Female Red Army Picture
On the journey, Liu Jian's main tasks were to carry the wounded, carry supplies and do publicity work. Lifting a stretcher on the rugged and steep mountain road, you may fall down the valley if you accidentally fall. However, Liu Jian, with a group of young sisters of similar age, used his thin body that had not yet matured, to throw mountains that were difficult to climb even with empty hands, without losing a single injured person.
Later, President Zhu praised them: "The girls in Sichuan are really a strong team!"
At that time, Liu Jian's small body often exuded the passion of youth, and often led the propaganda team to boost morale for the Red Army. On the most difficult sections of the road, the soldiers can always hear the girls' optimistic singing, which makes the long, dangerous and boring Long March full of vitality and color.
Before each march, Liu Jian would lead the propaganda team to the place where the team was about to pass. When the Red Army troops came, they would sing and play the slogans vigorously: "No matter how high the mountain is, it is not as high as our insteps; the road is difficult to walk, it is not difficult to defeat our legs..."
The difficult Long March
At that time, the female soldiers were still responsible for the task of raising grain for the team. As the Minister of Women, Liu Jian always took the lead in raising grain and raising funds, leading his comrades around, never complaining about being tired and distressed.
In June 1935, the First and Fourth Front Army of the Red Army met successfully in Maogong, Sichuan. The Central Military Commission reorganized the two front armies into two left and right armies. Among them, the left line army was commanded by Zhu De and Zhang Guotao. Liu Jian was assigned to this team.
Once, Liu Jian was leading a stretcher team to shelter the wounded and sick, he suddenly saw a female soldier lying down on the roadside. Liu Jian ran over quickly. She pushed the female warrior underground, but the other party did not move. He then stretched out the other party's breath and breathed with his hands; then touched the other party's forehead with his hands, it was hot! So Liu Jian shouted, "She has a high fever and is unconscious, hurry up and send it to rescue!" On the way of
, the female soldier on the stretcher woke up. Liu Jian asked her what her name was, which team or department she belonged to, and the other party only reluctantly said: "My surname is Kang..." and then she fell into a coma again.
Female Red Army Long March sculpture
Only after the incident, Liu Jian learned that the unconscious female soldier was Kang Keqing . Thanks to her being discovered and rescued by Liu Jian after she was seriously ill this time, otherwise the consequences would be unimaginable.
In February 1936, the Red Army crossed the Great Snow Mountains of . On that day, Kang Keqing rode a horse to visit the female soldiers. Because the horse she rode was just exchanged for from Tibetans and had a strong temperament, Kang Keqing had not tamed the horse yet. When I saw the female soldiers at this time, the horse was frightened because of the large number of people. I roared to the sky and spread my four hooves and ran around. When the female soldiers saw this formation, they were so scared that they screamed and had no choice but to do anything.
Seeing that the horse was about to rush towards a cliff, he said that it was almost time for a while, a female soldier rushed over with a single step and grabbed the reins of the horse! She used all her strength and pulled the fierce horse back.
Cliff stops!
Kang Keqing was finally saved. And it was our heroine Liu Jian who struggled to hold the Liema without hesitation. However, she also paid a heavy price for this, and two front teeth were kicked off by the horse's front hooves! There were no dentists on the Long March, and Liu Jian could only face the soldiers in such a embarrassing manner. This was very cruel for a girl who loved beauty, but she did not hesitate.
Rescue Kang Keqing from danger twice in a row, and Liu Jian attracted the attention and praise of Commander Zhu De. He once said to everyone: "This girl is very bold in her work, brave and independent in her work, which is really good!"
At that time, in the Fourth Red Army, although Zhu De was the commander-in-chief, Zhang Guotao was very domineering. He was arbitrary and always wanted to suppress him to split the Red Army. Therefore, Comrade Kang Keqing was also implicated, and she has been harassed and hurt by Zhang Guotao.
At that time, Zhang Guotao was removed from Kang Keqing's position and made excuses to transfer her from Zhu De, and sent a female soldier to monitor her every move. It was Liu Jian who monitored Kang Keqing.
Liu Jian knew Kang Keqing's character, and they had already had a friendship, but she could not violate the orders and could only do so.This is also Kang Keqing's luck. If someone else was watching her, there might be problems. Of course, Liu Jian was very nice to Kang Keqing and would never make things difficult for her. Such an incident happened at that time. Liu Jian received secret instructions from Zhang Guotao and others, and asked her to find an opportunity to pay Kang Keqing's gun .
Liu Jian was also hesitant, whether to obey this order? In the end, she decided not to go against her conscience and not to do this!
Later, Kang Keqing and Liu Jian recalled this past event and were also deeply moved. Liu Jian once asked Kang Keqing this way: "If I had seized your gun, what would you do?"
Kang Keqing immediately said seriously: "I am a revolutionary soldier. The gun was given to me by my superiors for self-defense and fighting against the enemy. It is my second life. Without the official orders of the superiors, no one would have thought of taking the gun away from me!"
Liu Jian said jokingly again: "What if I had to seize your gun?"
Kang Keqing slapped the short gun in his waist and said seriously: "Then I'm not polite with this gun, hehe!"
So Liu Jian opened his mouth wide: "Oh my God, fortunately I was too sensible at that time and didn't do that. If I was foolish and foolish to listen to them, I would probably be shot by you, hehe!"
But at that time, Liu Jian actually saved Kang Keqing's life again.
When the Red Army crossed the snowy mountain for the third time, Kang Keqing caught a severe cold again and had a high fever of 40 degrees Celsius, which was simply difficult to move forward. Zhang Guotao wanted to get rid of this burden, and of course, in order to further attack Mr. Zhu, he actually decided to leave Kang Keqing alone or give her directly to the local people.
In times of crisis, Liu Jian decisively helped him again. She secretly ran to tell Commander-in-Chief Zhu. When President Zhu heard this, he was furious and went to find Kang Keqing in person.
Finally, under the order of President Zhu, the talents who watched Kang Keqing had to let go. Zhu De ordered them to carry Kang Keqing away even if they were carried on a stretcher! But they still rely on Zhang Guotao's support and were arrogant and said that the staff was too tight, so who could carry a stretcher?
At this time, Liu Jian stood up again: "No one carries the stretcher, let's carry it!"
As a result, Liu Jian took a few female soldiers to carry Kang Keqing onto the stretcher. Kang Keqing was able to climb over the snow-capped mountains when he was seriously ill, which really was inseparable from Liu Jian's care. This can be said to be the third time that Liu Jian saved Kang Keqing's life.
Later Kang Keqing always remembered Liu Jian's life-saving grace, even in April 1992, Kang Keqing was in his last days. At that time, she was seriously ill and hospitalized. Liu Jian went to the hospital to visit her. Kang Keqing on the bed also held Liu Jian's hand and said affectionately: "Cheng Ying, without you, I would not have lived today. I will save my life..."

(three) Two confrontations between Zhang Guotao
1935, after the Central Red Army ended the Long March, it won the victory of the Zhiluo Town Battle , and wiped out the 109th Division of the Kuomintang, which was very satisfying. In early December, the news reached the Red Fourth Front Army. Zhang Zongxun, Guo Tianmin (who were once division-level cadres of the Red Fourth Front Army and served in the Red Fourth Front Army at that time) and others secretly discussed in private: It was the central government's northbound route that won!
After hearing this, Zhang Guotao was very upset and wanted to rectify these people on the grounds of leaking military secrets. At a "activist" meeting, Liu Jian took the lead in speaking according to Kang Keqing's prior instruction: "These comrades did not have ulterior motives to disrupt the morale of the army, but were happy and encouraged by the news of the victory of the Red Army's operations. Some news may not be spread very accurately, but this is different from the leakage of military secrets. They should not be expelled from the party!" At the meeting, someone else took out the "Red Battlefield" which published the news of the victory of the Central Red Army's operations, and confirmed the content of Liu Jian's speech, which saved Zhang Zongxun and others from Zhang Guotao's attack. Liu Jian's chivalrous act won everyone's respect.
In September 1936, after the main force of the Red Fourth Front Army captured Lintan , Weiyuan , Tongwei and other counties, Zhang Guotao still did not want to go north to meet with the Red First Front Army, and openly mobilized troops to cross the Yellow River from Yongjing to advance westward. At a backbone member meeting, Zhang Guotao mobilized his "Progress West" plan to win their approval and support.
Faced with Zhang Guotao's separatist behavior, Liu Jian and Kang Keqing fought back again. With the support of Kang Keqing, Liu Jian angrily confronted Zhang Guotao again. She said:
"Whether to go north or to advance west is related to the fate of tens of thousands of Red Army soldiers! Judging from the thoughts and emotions of the troops, everyone asked to go north as soon as possible and meet with the Central Red Army as soon as possible, and they were unwilling to cross Yellow River to advance west; if they wanted to advance west again, it would probably cause ideological confusion. In terms of material conditions, there is a shortage of cold-proof clothing and food now. If they insist on advancing west, even if they will not be eliminated by the enemy, we will freeze and starve to death! We believe that we must not advance westward, and we will definitely not move westward. If we insist on advancing westward, even if we will not be eliminated by the enemy, we will freeze to death and starve to death! We believe that we must not move westward ! "
Zhang Guotao was furious when he heard this, and patted the table and asked, "Who taught you to speak like this?"
Zhang Guotao's stills
Liu Jian said, "This is my personal opinion. Many people see and say this. If you don't believe it, you can go and learn about the investigation."
Next, Fu Zhong, director of the Political Department of the Red Fourth Front Army, and others also expressed their support for Liu Jian's view. Finally, after many twists and turns, Zhang Guotao was forced to give up the "Progress West" action plan, allowing the Fourth Red Front Army to successfully meet with the First Red Front Army in Huining .
Afterwards, Kang Keqing praised Liu Jian: "Your 'little cannon' is not simple. This cannon hits the point and makes Zhang Guotao hoarse!"
Liu Jian said: "This is all taught by Mr. Zhu and Sister Kang. You have taught it well!"
In order to strengthen the revolutionary belief, Liu Jian changed his real name "Xiao Chengying" to Liu Jian.
(IV) Zhu De: Do you have an object?
Liu Jian's outstanding performance during the Long March was appreciated by Commander Zhu De. In July 1936, after the Second and Fourth Red Army met, Liu Jian was transferred to the Red Army Party School with Kang Keqing. During this period, Mr. Zhu and Kang Keqing also made her marriage successful.
After dinner one day, when Mr. Zhu went to the party school to find his wife Kang Keqing, Liu Jian was also present.
Zhu De
President Zhu looked at Liu Jian carefully and suddenly asked:
"Xiao Xiao, do you have a partner?"
At that time, 17-year-old Liu Jian had no time to consider his marriage issues, and had not even heard of the fashionable word "object". So she was confused and answered:
"What is a partner?"
"Hahaha!" President Zhu smiled heartily and said, "The partner is a lover, which means husband."
Liu Jian's face was red with shame and shook his head quickly.
Mr. Zhu said kindly: "Then I will introduce one to you!"
Liu Jian didn't know what to do. At this time, Kang Keqing came to rescue the situation. She said:
"There is someone who is very good, good at fighting, he has suffered a lot of injuries, and needs someone to take care of him. But he talks too much and dares to say anything. You are very smart, can help him and control his mouth."
It turns out that Commander-in-Chief Zhu De and Kang Keqing had already made "premeditated" in advance!
The person Zhu and his wife are attracted to are called Yang Meisheng.
年球文
年球文 1905 in Xiangtan County, Hunan Province. He is also a legendary general. He used to be a guard of Comrade Mao Zedong, participated in the Autumn Harvest Uprising, and made many military achievements on Jinggangshan . He served as the defense work of the central leadership during the Long March and once captured an enemy aircraft. Yang Meisheng once served as the commander of the 3rd Division of the 9th Army of the First Red Army (see the article "The Woman Talking about History" on September 18).
Liu Jian respects Zhu De and his wife Kang Keqing very much. They are the oldest, so they are naturally for their own good. Of course, she will not object, so she agreed to meet. As a result, after meeting Yang Meisheng, both parties were very satisfied. Soon, the two of them who had met only once got married.
At that time, the troops were still crossing grassland in , and Liu Jian's wedding was held on the spot. There was no new house, so everyone led the bride and groom into a dilapidated lama temple nearby and used the dilapidated temple as a wedding chamber. There was no food for a wedding banquet, and Mr. Zhu said, "I'll treat you to rice today!"
During the Long March, there was no food or clothing, so a meal of rice was very luxurious. In this way, 17-year-old Liu Jian married 31-year-old Yang Meisheng. Since then, this revolutionary couple fell in love with each other and grew old together.
So why is Comrade Zhou Enlai, who is 7 years older than Yangmeisheng and 21 years older than Liu Jian, called Liu Jian’s sister-in-law?
(Five) Mei Sao
In December 1931, Comrade Zhou Enlai went from Shanghai to the central base area, and this important task to welcome him was carried out by Yang Meisheng. At that time, Yang Meisheng brought a battalion of troops to . The mountains were high and the forests were dense, and the Kuomintang army was blocked very strictly.
Sure enough, Yang Meisheng encountered a blockade from an enemy security team. Faced with the enemy army that was several times more than him, Yang Meisheng was not afraid at all. He flexibly used guerrilla tactics, attacked the east and west, cleverly used two companies to restrain the enemy, lead the enemy away, and used another company to escort Zhou Enlai.
Zhou Enlai safely arrived at Soviet area , and was very grateful to Yangmeisheng. Until the founding of the People's Republic of China, Zhou Enlai was still obsessed with this matter. He once praised Yang Meisheng: "Yang Meisheng is very good at thinking and fighting. When I passed the blockade line that time, he commanded the troops to attack the east and west and lead the enemy away. Otherwise, it would be very dangerous to cross the blockade line."
Zhou Enlai also respected Yang Meisheng's wife Liu Jian. When he saw her, he affectionately called him "Sister Mei".
Premier Zhou Enlai
Let Premier Zhou, who is 21 years older than him, call himself "sister-in-law", which can also be said to be Liu Jian's great honor!
Liu Jian followed Yang Mei to fight in the south and north, and suffered a lot. The couple sang as a wife and always loved each other. After the founding of the People's Republic of China, Liu Jian served as deputy political commissar of the Logistics Department of the Hunan Military Region and deputy director of the Political Department directly under the Guangzhou Military Region Command. In 1955, both of them were awarded the title, Yang Meisheng was awarded the title of lieutenant general, while Liu Jian was awarded the rank of colonel.
Liu Jian later read a lot of books, engaged in literary creation, and wrote the book "The Daughter of the Robber". Her famous works include "Meadow Dinner", "Pumpkin Treatment", "Strange Trumpet Soldier", etc.
Liu Jian, who worked for the revolution all his life, also lived a long life. She died in Guangzhou on August 31, 2005 at the age of 86. Good people die well.
