The campus of Shenzhen Middle School was filled with a strong warm atmosphere of resisting U.S. aggression and aiding Korea. In this movement, the students received profound ideological education on patriotism and internationalism, further understood the loveliness of the motherland and the hateful enemy, and greatly improved the ideological awareness of patriotism and internationalism.
Ideological and political education is the basic form of ideological education for students in our school. Under the principle of "teacher responsibility" and "integration of teaching", our class teacher is the specific executor of the school's teaching plan in this class; he is the counselor of the Youth League branch and student union cadres of this class; he is the commander of the grassroots company on the frontline positions of the students' ideological front.
Each class of the school holds a class meeting once a week, and the class teacher will provide ideological education based on the situation of the class. The main problem with Shenzhen Middle School teaching at that time was that the textbooks were heavy in weight and did not fully adapt to students' acceptance ability. The curriculum standards do not fully comply with the regulations. Streamlining textbooks or supplementing local textbooks has become an urgent problem. Our approach is: Chinese classes are taught according to the textbooks of the Ministry, but the progress must be controlled, and textbooks are not selected at will; political history and geography classes are briefly based on the textbooks, and generally no supplementary materials are added; textbooks of various subjects of natural sciences are taught according to the textbooks, and the content is divided into the main and secondary, and the secondary parts are briefly or not. Except for necessary local textbooks, no supplementary materials are added; old textbooks are taught according to the standard draft, and no other textbooks are taught; music classes are mainly about learning and singing; art classes only talk about practical basic knowledge and pay attention to field practice; physical education classes are self-written outlines, which are concise and easy to understand, and are mainly activities. Another problem in teaching is that teaching aids, instruments, and other teaching aids cannot adapt to teaching needs and affect teaching effectiveness. In order to solve this difficulty, some teachers do it themselves and make teaching aids. For example, Teacher Kang Hexuan collected and made many animal and plant specimens; Teacher Yan Fei drew many geographical posters; Comrade Zhou Dalai dug out the complete bones of a woman buried underground and boiled them in a large pot and made them into a complete teaching aid for the human skeletal system, which improved the teaching effect of physiological hygiene classes.
