So Gong Zirong turned his attention to the Communist Party. The Communist Party's anti-Japanese proposition coincided with his dream. 20 years old That year, Gong Zirong joined the Social Alliance and became the executive member of the Shanxi Taiyuan Social Science Alliance.
Also at this time, some revolutionary propaganda activities of Gong Zirong attracted the attention of the Kuomintang reactionaries. He was arrested by the Kuomintang in 1934. In prison, the Kuomintang tortured Gong Zirong cruelly, but he was unmoved. He persisted with tenacious perseverance, and Gong Zirong's performance also won the trust of the organization. He was officially approved to join the party in 1936 and became a Communist Party member.
After the Xi'an Incident, the Kuomintang and the Communist Party began their second cooperation. Under the rescue of the party organization, many comrades were successfully released from prison, including Gong Zirong.
After being released from prison, Gong Zirong began to serve as a member of the Taiyuan Municipal Committee of Shanxi Province of the Communist Party of China. After the founding of New China, Gong Zirong was transferred to the Central Committee to serve as Deputy Minister of the Organization Department of the CPC Central Committee .
