Jiao Liren was born in Hancheng, Shaanxi Province in 1920. In his early years, he mainly studied in his hometown. In Jiao Liren's youth, he witnessed various misfortunes of the country, especially after the 1931 Incident of 1918. At that time, Jiao Liren was already 11 years old. Although he was young, he already understood the importance of the country and the nation. Concept, he was eager to find a way to strengthen the country and save the people, so he studied hard so that he could serve the country in the future.
In 1937, After the July 7th Incident, the Anti-Japanese War broke out. The next year, 18-year-old Jiao Li went to the Shaanxi-Gansu-Ningxia Border Region and entered Lu Xun Normal School. Lu Xun Normal School was a middle school founded by our party in Yan'an, China. However, due to the changes in the anti-Japanese situation, the school was later moved to Yanchang, Majiapu, Yangpotou, Xinzheng County and other places. Even so, Lu Xun Normal schools still occupy an important position in the Shaanxi-Gansu-Ningxia Border Region and are the cradle for our party to cultivate young talents.
Soon after entering Lu Xun Normal School, the outstanding Jiao Liren joined our party. Since then, he has been active in the Shaanxi-Gansu-Ningxia Border Region for a long time. He served as the chief of the General Affairs Section in the First Arsenal and led the weapons production of the arsenal. , ensuring the supply of weapons and ammunition for our army. During the War of Liberation, Jiao Liren first worked in the arsenal of the Jinsui Military Region for a period of time. Soon after, he was transferred to Tianshui, Gansu, where he participated in taking over Gansu enterprises and quickly stabilized the local social situation.
After the founding of the People's Republic of China, Jiao Li was assigned to the Yumen Mining Bureau and served as the director of the Mining Bureau. He led my country's oil exploration and construction in the early days of the founding of the People's Republic of China. It is particularly worth mentioning that in 1960, Jiao Liren led Wang Jinxi and other oil workers from the Yumen Oil Mine to the Songliao Plain in the Northeast, participated in the Songliao Oil Battle, and made contributions to the construction of the Daqing Oilfield. made a huge contribution.
After that, Jiao Li stayed in Northeast China and served as president of Northeast Petroleum University, cultivating a large number of talents for my country's oil industry. In 1964, Jiao Liren was transferred to the Ministry of Petroleum Industry of China and participated in directing the exploration and development work of Shengli Oilfield and Jianghan Oilfield, once again making great contributions to the development of my country's petroleum industry. In 1975, Jiao Liren was appointed as the deputy minister of the Ministry of Petroleum and Chemical Industry (referred to as the Ministry of Petrochemical Industry). In 1978, the Ministry of Petrochemical Industry was split into the Ministry of Petroleum Industry (referred to as the Ministry of Petroleum) and the Ministry of Chemical Industry. Jiao Liren continued to serve as the Ministry of Petroleum Deputy Minister.
In November 1979, the Bohai No. 2 shipwreck occurred. This accident killed a total of 72 people and had a serious impact. After the accident, the country attached great importance to it, and the Ministry of Petroleum also organized experts to investigate the cause of the accident many times. Song Zhenming, who was the Minister of Petroleum at the time, was also dismissed from his post in 1980 because of the accident.
After Song Zhenming was dismissed from his post, Jiao Liren, as deputy minister, temporarily took charge of the overall work of the Ministry of Petroleum and continued to lead experts to investigate the cause of the accident. In 1981, the sunken ship of the Bohai No. 2 shipwreck was salvaged. After expert investigation, it was discovered that the drill ship itself had design flaws. In 1983, Jiao Liren voluntarily retired from his leadership position in the Ministry of Petroleum and continued to serve as a consultant to the Ministry of Petroleum. In 1998, Jiao Liren retired. In his later years, he mainly lived in Beijing. He died of illness in 2007 at the age of 87.
