Now Qingdao is undoubtedly the leader in Shandong Province, both in terms of policy preference and economic development. But when it comes to history, Qingdao is far less ancient than Zhifu. In modern times, Yantai opened its port in 1861, while Qingdao opened in 1892, 30 years later. In 1890, who dared to say that Qingdao could surpass and Yantai in the future? Now who dares to say that Yantai can surpass Qingdao in the future?

If the advantage of the port alone is not huge, then once Yanda Undersea Tunnel is completed, the loop around the Bohai Sea will be closed. With trade advantages, costs will be advantageous. The same raw materials cost 100 yuan to Yantai and 110 yuan to Qingdao. When processed into products, the cost may be 20% lower. This is the core competitiveness of geographical location. No one can change it.
Russia provides resources, Northeast China provides old industrial bases to provide scientific research and industrial supporting facilities, and processing and manufacturing are integrated in Yantai. Products and services radiate to East China, Central China, and South China by land, and to Japan and South Korea by sea. If it has this advantage, Qingdao may in turn provide Yantai with financial and talent support, and everything is possible in the future.
Then why is it still like this? Because Northeast Asia is still within the sphere of influence of the United States, the world structure is still in turmoil, the United States can still control the decision-making of Japan and South Korea, and Russia is stuck in the quagmire of Russia and Ukraine. Our aircraft carrier is not strong enough, not strong enough to say to China, Brother, if America beats me up, China can be domineering and say, "Where are you, let's go do it."
