The Memorial Hall of the Former Site of the Manchuria Provincial Committee of the Communist Party of China in Shenyang is located at No. 3, Fuan Lane, Huangsi Road, Heping District ( North Market ), covering an area of 2,500 square meters and an exhibition area of 740 square meters. The Manchuria Provincial Committee of the Communist Party of China was the highest leadership body of the Communist Party of China in the Northeast region from October 1927 to January 1936. The memorial hall at the old site was opened to the public in 1985 and underwent large-scale reconstruction and expansion in 2003. People come here to visit and pay homage every day in an endless stream. With great excitement and gratitude, people expressed their incomparable admiration and reverence for the older generation of proletarian revolutionaries and revolutionary martyrs.
The main exhibition contents of the memorial hall include the history of the Manchuria Provincial Committee of the Communist Party of China, the restoration of the former site of the Manchuria Provincial Committee of the Communist Party of China, the restoration of Liu Shaoqi's former residence, and the local history of Shenyang of the Communist Party of China. The former site of the Manchuria Provincial Committee of the Communist Party of China is a hard-mountain-style blue brick building with six rooms wide and one deep. The four rooms on the east side were the seats of the Manchuria Provincial Committee of the Communist Party of China from 1927 to 1929.
Liu Shaoqi’s former residence was originally located at No. 2, Hongye South Lane, Section 4, Huigong Street, Shenhe District, Shenyang City. It is a hard-mountain-style blue brick and gray tile private house, facing north and south, with six main rooms, of which the two in the east are Comrade Liu Shaoqi’s secret residence. .
From July 1929 to March 1930, Comrade Liu Shaoqi lived here secretly when he served as Secretary of the Fifth Manchuria Provincial Committee of the Communist Party of China. In 1992, the Shenyang Municipal Government decided to relocate and rebuild it according to its original appearance on the north side of the former site of the Manchuria Provincial Committee of the Communist Party of China, at No. 2 Fuan Lane, Huangsi Road.
I have visited here many times to pay my respects. When I was here, I seemed to see Liu Shaoqi and other older generation revolutionaries and revolutionary predecessors fighting tenaciously and cleverly dealing with the enemy at the expense of personal safety in those arduous and bloody days. And regardless of life and death, for ideals and beliefs, for the working people, and for the heroic picture of establishing a new China with awe-inspiring righteousness and disregarding death. I know that the red country we have today was obtained by countless revolutionary martyrs who donated their blood and lives. Today’s well-off life is hard-won, and we must cherish it even more.
