Everyone has heard the term "three teachings and nine streams", but do you know which three teachings are worthy of? Don't think it's Buddhism, Confucianism, or Taoism. That would be a big mistake.
Actually, the so-called Sanjiao refers to the three major societies in the arena, commonly known as the Qinghongbai Qinggang (also known as Qinggang), Hongmen and Bailianjiao.
But for hundreds of years, in addition to the rapid disappearance of the White Lotus Sect, the other two societies: Hongmen and Qinggang, have existed for more than a century. When the two sides have a harmonious relationship, most of the time it is you who fight. I fight, in order to let everyone fight less, there is also a saying in the arena: "Red flowers, green leaves and white lotus roots, three religions, nine streams, one family".
Hongmen also has many phased titles, such as Tiandihui, Triad, etc., which were modified to adapt to the social environment at the time.
The Qing Gang is the same, also called the Cao Gang, because the Qing Gang started from water transportation. Water transportation was its main battlefield and source of income. It was more like a chamber of commerce. Later, it was renamed because of the suppression by the Qing rulers. It is called "Anqing", so the Qinggang disciples are also called "Anqing Children".
In the gang inheritance and membership development, Hongmen and Qinggang are fundamentally different. Hongmen are more social organizations with a religious nature. They are called brothers and sisters in the society, and they pay attention to the seniority level and the early or late membership. And the size of the contribution, it belongs to a large community of horizontal development.
As for the Qinggang, it is not called brothers, but the membership of the Qinggang is carried out in the form of apprenticeship, which is to pass the student stickers. Du Yuesheng has been referred to Du Yuesheng and the "red post" has been handed over. The so-called "red post" refers to the post of the students who cast the protagonist. The ceremony of putting the incense hall in the gang is to be performed.
It is said that after Chiang Kai-shek's fortune, Du Yuesheng originally planned to find a suitable taboo and handed the protégé stickers back to Chiang Kai-shek. Unexpectedly, the protégé stickers locked in the safe disappeared without losing any other important items. The only difference is that Chiang Kai-shek’s protégé post was missing. Later generations suspected that Chiang Kai-shek sent someone to take it, because only two people who knew the password went to Chongqing together, and the other did not.
is precisely because of the mystery of the master-disciple inheritance of the Qing Gang. In the ceremony, there are many more rules than the Hongmen who can join directly by worshipping the handle, and it is very complicated.
In short, Hongmen belongs to a horizontally developed and extensive society. Although there are many rituals for joining the membership, the rules that members need to abide by, and the status of the helper, but after all The opening of branches and leaves is more random, so it is dominant in number.
Green Gang belongs to the vertical development of apprenticeship and membership. The congregation is known as mentor and apprentice, and advocates "teacher and apprentice are like father and son".
Hongmen everyone is more familiar with the big man Sun Yat-sen, in fact, our Marshal He Long and Marshal Liu Bocheng, both of Hongmen origin, belong to the Sichuan Hongmen-the branch of the old brother. The well-known Qiu Jin is also a member of the Hong Clan, and his status is very high.
There is also a relatively well-known Hongmen disciple who actually ascended the Tiananmen Gate Tower and participated in the founding ceremony. He stood behind Chairman Mao. He is the famous Situ Meitang. (In the next article, I will write a story about Situ Meitang, so stay tuned).
Compared with the politicization of Hongmen, the green gang is a bit more socially gangster. For example, the three heroes Huang Jinrong, Du Yuesheng, and Zhang Xiaolin are the green gang.
