Why can't Chechen be independent?

On October 27, 1991, Dudayev was elected president of the Chechen-Ingushe Republic, and subsequently declared Chechnya a sovereign state; on November 2, the Supreme Soviet of the Russian Federation declared the Chechen-Ingushetia presidential election illegal.
The "independent" Chechnya is different from other CIS countries in that it is a new country from the inside out. The Grozny region has a large amount of oil. Chechnya has a population of only 300,000. It is also located at the key point of the Caucasus East-South North-South railway. The Caspian Sea oil pipeline and the Caucasus oil pipeline pass through Chechnya, so its strategic position is very important. How tragic is the Chechen War:
The Chechen Republic is one of the autonomous republics of the Russian Federation. It is located on the north side of the Caucasus Mountains and covers an area of about 15,000 square kilometers. In 1934, Chechnya merged with its western neighbor Ingushetia Autonomous Prefecture and joined the Soviet Union; in December 1936, it was changed to Chechnya-Ingushetia Autonomous Republic. In 1944, Stalin used the Chechens to cooperate with the German aggressors as an excuse to forcibly drive the Chechens out of their homes and move to Siberia, causing great trauma to the Chechens. It was not until 1957 that the establishment of the Chechen-Ingushetia Autonomous Republic was restored.
After the disintegration of the Soviet Union in 1991, the separatist forces in Chechnya took advantage of the political turmoil and the central government was unable to take care of remote areas and began to seek independence. In October of this year, Dudayev, a retired general who was awarded the title of Hero of the Soviet Union in the Afghanistan War, became president of the Chechen Republic. As soon as he took office, he publicly declared Chechnya's independence and established Chechnya's first regular army, the National Guard, with a maximum number of 60,000.
Seeing Chechnya turned into an independent kingdom that openly sang a drama with the central government, it became a confidant of the Russian Federation. In December 1994, the Russian army drove into Chechnya in three ways to fight against the unruly separatist forces. At the beginning, the Russian army regarded the Chechen rebels as a mob, and did not take it seriously. However, I never expected that the Russian army would lose its troops in a small Chechnya.
