As Li Hongta said, Li Dazhao has a simple life. He was the director and concurrently professor of Peking University Library . His monthly salary is more than 200 yuan, but he I never take a rickshaw to work. I always eat my own steamed buns or wotou for lunch at work. Most of the money is used to develop the party’s cause and help the poor, so that the monthly salary must be deducted first. Part of it will be kept by the wife to ensure the basic food and clothing expenses of the family.
Li Dazhao's simple and clean life style and selfless revolutionary spirit have deeply influenced his grandchildren Li Hongta and Li Yazhong. Li Hongta is the winner of this year’s " Order of July 1st Medal". He used to work at the Anhui Provincial Civil Affairs Department. He rode a bicycle to and from get off work every day. He lived in a 55-square-meter old house for 16 years. It seems that the quality of life is not important, what matters is whether we can do practical things for the masses. During his work in the civil administration system, Li Hongta spends at least half of his time at the grassroots level each year, entering the village to do research work, and regards the minimum living guarantee households, widows, orphans and disabled children as his relatives.
In 2003, when the Huaihe River flooded, Li Hongta took the lead to inspect the disaster situation. He went into the tents of the victims to measure the temperature and found that the heat was unbearable. He immediately proposed that the local party and government agencies vacate offices to settle the masses...
