Laoheihe Site is not only a patriotism education base, but also a red site. A radius of tens of kilometers has left the footprints of anti-Union soldiers fighting guerrillas. Therefore, Laoheihe is not only a evidence site for the Japanese invaders to plunder forest resources in Northeast China. It is also a red site where the soldiers of the Anti-Union Army rose up against the Japanese invaders. On August 30th, the large-scale financial media interview team of China’s Jilin.com "Beautiful Country Chronicles-Walking into the Country to See a Well-off Society" came to the Laoheihe Site Museum to explore the history that has been covered in dust for many years.

The discovery of the Laoheihe site
On June 12, 2019, Chen Wenxu, the militia company commander of Chinan District, Changbai Mountain, discovered this site for the first time when he went up the mountain to dig wild vegetables. That month, experts from the Provincial Party History Office, Provincial Archaeology Institute, Provincial Museum, Archaeological Institute of Jilin University, and Jilin Anti-fighting Association conducted on-site inspections of the Laoheihe site. After passing, it was named "Laoheihe Site".

Tens of thousands of heroes sacrificed in the 14 years of arduous Northeast Anti-Japanese War. As the years go by, the relics that witnessed the history of the heroes' struggles become more precious.
These surface cultural relics bear witness to that indelible history
Following the explanation by Cao Haiyang from the Laoheihe Ruins Museum, the interview team walked into the museum, and the Laoheihe Ruins were exhibited in Pavilion No. 1 The unearthed surface cultural relics include "Ouyang Wulong vanilla oil", buckets, oil barrels, industrial oil barrels, crane picks inscribed in Japanese, water-linked rifle bullets, "seven-nine" rifle bullets, "38-style" Hundreds of rifle bullets, Soviet brass knives, various types of iron cans, and various types of pots.

In the Laoheihe Ruins Museum, a rusty exhibit-a crowbar (also known as a crane ho) tells people the years of humiliation. This crowbar was donated by Mr. Li Guilong, who is 80 years old this year, to the Management Committee of Chinan District in 2019. According to his memories, his father once sent corn and potatoes to the Laoheihe Secret Camp on the mountain in 1935. In 1940,His father was caught on the Laoheihe Mountain and used as a labor force to pave the roadbed of a small train and cut timber. Li Guilong's father was released before the Japanese army's defeat and surrender in 1944, and he took the crowbar back after a thousand hardships.

The history of the Anti-Union League is now in sight
The second exhibition hall shows the history of the heroic fighting in the Laoheihe area led by Yang Jingyu and Wang Detai during the Anti-Alliance period. In the 14th year of the Northeast Anti-Japanese War, in order to drive away the Japanese invaders, a large number of Anti-Union fighters climbed the ice and lie on the snow in Laoheihe, the source of the Manjiang River, attacked heroically, killed the Japanese and puppet troops, and wrote the song of immortality. The Laoheihe Site Museum vividly reproduces the history of the Laoheihe Site and the glorious deeds of the Anti-Union heroes with comprehensive and rich content, historical documents and materials.

If you want to have a deeper understanding of this long dusty history, then you must come to the Laoheihe Site Museum to recall this magnificent revolutionary journey with your family, remember the great achievements of the revolutionary martyrs, and appreciate the red culture Zeitgeist!
