EA released its second quarter financial report for fiscal year 2023 (the three months from June to September 2022). The financial report shows that in the past three months, EA generated revenue of US$1.9 billion, an increase of 4% over the same period last year, and a net scheduled value of US$1.75 billion, a 5% decline from the same period last year, and profit of US$2.299 billion, an increase of 2% over the same period last year.
EA said that FIFA 23 is the most successful starter in the history of the series, but it is only enough to drive EA's revenue and profit to achieve unit-number growth in the second quarter.
EA CFO Chris Suh said in evaluating the company's second quarter results: "Q2 was a strong quarter. We once again fulfilled our revenue and profit commitments, driven mainly by our EA Sports product portfolio and our multi-platform instant services. As for another sports masterpiece "Madden NFL 23" released in Q2 quarter, EA did not mention its performance in the quarterly financial report.
