"Call of Duty: Modern Warfare" is a special game for me.

As the second part of the series' reboot, today's Call of Duty 19: Modern Warfare 2 (hereinafter referred to as "COD19") continues to tell the story of those classic characters.
On this world line, Captain Price formed the 141 task force, and what awaited them ahead was endless smoke, guns and death.

Since the pre-order reward of this game contains the item "can play the plot seven days in advance", we were able to experience the relevant content first with thousands of pre-order players this time before the game was officially released, and here we will share the game experience after passing the level in the form of reviews.
The plot theme of this "COD19" is "anti-drug", which tells the story of an Iranian armed organization stealing the US ballistic missile through Russian drug dealers. Under the command of General Sheffield , the 141 contingent led by Captain Price was ordered to track down the whereabouts of missile and bring the mastermind behind it to justice.
In terms of plot telling, this work is very different from the "Old Trilogy": it does not choose to tell the story in a "dual line parallel" way, but for most of the time, it focuses the camera on the members of the 141 Task Force.
This "single-line narrative" method is good and bad.
From a bad perspective, "COD19" cannot be compared with the "Old Trilogy" in terms of overall structural framework or the richness of its perspective. And since 141 belongs to a contingent and has special combat missions, this game is destined to have too many spectacular scenes such as "tank cluster charge", "city nuclear bomb explosion", and "Eiffel Tower collapse".
But this is not completely unhealthy. With the development of the game over the past decade, today's players are more or less tired of these big scenes. On the contrary, the "small-scale, high-intensity" war mode of the Special Forces can make people feel more exciting and novel.
and more linear narrative style also makes the story of "Modern War 2" more "complete" from the perspective of players. Single-line narrative brings more easily shaped and story development by empathizing with , and also allows us to have a more coherent emotional continuation during the game.
At the same time, through rich and character-compliant character dialogues and sophisticated plot arrangement, this game undoubtedly creates a more full-image character, and also makes those familiar old friends with COD players more vivid and vivid.
So, the setting of "COD19" is still very good.
However, setting the tone is one thing, but how to interpret it is another.
To address this point, the IW group that developed this game mainly used two methods to deal with it: the first is to integrate various details of the special forces' mission into the gameplay, and the second is to pay tribute to the classics, recreating some classic levels and famous scenes in the "Old Trilogy".
As for the former, the IW group did a pretty good job. They not only further promoted the highly praised CQB (indoor close combat) gameplay in "COD16", greatly increasing its proportion in levels, but also perfectly integrated tactical details such as casual capture, infiltrating killing, precise shooter handling of high-threat targets, and near-air support for encounter calls into the game.

This adrenaline-spirited stimulating scene is spread throughout all parts of the plot process of "COD19". With the blessing of the super high picture level and super awesome weapon feel of this game, the "satisfaction" that players can get is further magnified.
This part of the content, together with levels that require survival, infiltration, assassination and CQB, forms a moderate and relaxed play rhythm.

On the other hand, some levels in the game pay tribute to classics can be regarded as a gift from IW to old players.
When Captain Price and I were lying on the grass together, watching groups of enemies passing by; directing an aerial gunboat aircraft, pouring fire into the ground with machine gun , machine cannons and Hellfire missiles; and driving a pickup truck and chasing and shooting with the enemy's convoy, the memory deep in my mind seemed to be awakened in an instant.
This is a unique fun that only old players can get.
Some current problems
In my opinion, "COD19" has done a good job in selecting materials, setting the tone, plot interpretation, rhythm control and paying tribute to classics, but the reason why I did not give it a higher evaluation when considering the scores of the plot part is largely because I think the story is debatable.
First of all, from a general perspective, the plot of "COD19" has made political output without any concealment, setting Russia and Iran , two countries that are tense with the United States in reality, to be in harmony with drug dealers. Although it has long been common for the "COD" series to carry such "private goods" that are either open or hidden, the disgusting degree of play is not reduced at all.
Even if you put this aside, the process of plot reversals, story advancement and final ending in the game seems a bit unnatural enough. In order to avoid too many spoilers, this part will not be described in detail here. Just from my personal experience, these parts will cause certain obstacles to players' understanding of the storyline.
Another flaw that may seem a bit nitpicky from the perspective of the masses is some obvious textual and logical errors in the plot process.
In a certain level, the player needs to break into a building to complete the capture mission, while Captain Price stole an AH-64D "Longbow Apache" armed helicopter to provide players with near-air fire support.
Just as I was immersed in the pleasure brought by collaborative operations, I suddenly realized that the sound of this " longbow Apache " fired was not from the iconic M320 30mm chain cannon under its belly, but the minigun rotary machine gun that should not exist at all...
This design of "donkey lips are not right" is likely to be caused by the negligence of the IW group. If I have to wash it, I can also use "100 secrets and one sparse" to excuse it. But when mistakes like this appear one after another, it is really unreasonable.
For example, in another level, the soap I controlled lost its guns during the fall, so the plot designed a scene where players need to collect broken glass and tape around and tie it into small knives to take the opportunity to kill the enemies around them.
Originally, this gameplay of using the environment to fight wits and courage with the enemy was still interesting, but when I was worried about making a temporary knife and successfully dealt with the two enemies into the cutscene, I found that on the shoulder strap of the soap tactical vest, there was a classic Kaba 1217 knife hanging...
This led to the protagonist in my mind, instantly changing from a task force soldier who had experienced countless wars and had amazing tactical literacy to a clown fiddled with by the screenwriter. For the IW group that became famous through the "Modern War" series, it is really ridiculous to make such common sense mistakes that make people "get out of the play in seconds".
In addition to the above obvious problems, this game is also a bit too "down-to-earth" in Chinese, and there are still some problems with black screen, flashbacks and frame drops.
Regarding the issue of Chineseization, players have been beaten up in just two days, but to be fair, its impact on the game is actually not too great. Instead, the problem of black screen flashback is a bit annoying.
The computer configuration of the author's evaluation is 6800XT+5800X3D. With 2K resolution, the highest screen setting and FSR is enabled, the game frame count can reach the maximum value supported by the monitor used, that is, 165 frames.
However, when the character dies and resurrects the reading file, the number of game frames will drop to single digits for a period of time, or it will either directly flash back on the black screen or even be blocked, which will greatly affect the game experience. Other players who use NVIDIA graphics cards also have more or less similar phenomena.

In the nearly eight hours of plot flow, "Call of Duty 19: Modern Warfare 2" brought me thrilling stealth and passionate battles, but it lacked polishing in some places outside the plot context, military details and game content, which also made it not that perfect.
But no matter what, the plot content is only part of the game "Call of Duty 19: Modern Warfare 2".
