On GTC 2022, NVIDIA announced the RTX ray tracing mod for the Valve classic puzzle game "Portway". The RTX ray tracing version of "Port" is designed to provide full ray tracing effects and will support DLSS 3.0. Additionally, NVIDIA revealed the RTX Remix Modding tool, which mod makers can use to enhance full ray tracing effects for older games.
No need to say much, the RTX Remix Modding tool will benefit many games. Based on this tool, we can finally get full ray tracing effects in classic games such as " Doom 3", "Half-Life", "Unreal World", "The Elder Scrolls 3: Morning Breeze". The
RTX Remix Modding tool is different from the Reshade ray tracing mod used by many PC players. What is talking about here is a complete and appropriate ray tracing effect.
NVIDIA CEO Huang Renxun explained that the mod maker needs to import the game into USD, then use the modding tool to create a ray tracing mod and export the RTX renderer. RTX Remix also uses AI technology to overall improve/upgrade all material content and corresponding AI models to convert the material to make it have accurate properties in the physical sense.
