As a person born in the late 1980s, I feel that the atmosphere of the Chinese New Year now is still very different from the atmosphere in my childhood memories. Now I will take stock of the Chinese New Year in my memory! See how it is different from what you remember?

one, family reunion dinner .

I have been busy since I got up on the morning of the New Year. The most important meal of the reunion dinner is noon on New Year’s Eve. The dishes are also the richest in the year. Let’s talk about cured meat first. Sausage and bacon are of course indispensable. Then we stew cured pork ribs and cured pig’s trotters respectively. We also need to stew a chicken and a duck separately, and then cook a fish. These are basically the main dishes for the reunion dinner. Even four stews are definitely too much to finish. The custom in our hometown is to have more than enough every year. We only have a bowl of these dishes at noon during the New Year, and most of them are reserved for entertaining guests during the Spring Festival.

Nowadays, we don’t have to pay so much attention to it, and we don’t prepare so many stews. We also buy some stewed vegetables or other cooked food in advance, so naturally making reunion dinners is no longer as busy as in childhood. At that time, because there were too many stews, there were definitely not enough pots, so a coal stove had to be used. By the way, there is also the old copper hot pot which can also cook a pot of food.

2. Paste Spring Festival couplets.

When I was a child, my grandfather wrote all the Spring Festival couplets at home. At that time, they had a special book. All the contents are selected from that book. Every door in the house must be pasted with Spring Festival couplets. Use rice water used for cooking to brush the Spring Festival couplets on the place to be pasted, and then stick the Spring Festival couplets on them. It seems quite simple now. I bought the Spring Festival couplets, so I only stuck them on two or three main doors. I no longer used rice soup and just used tape to stick them on!

3. Go to the grave.

In our hometown, there is a custom of visiting the graves of all ancestors on the Chinese New Year day. After having breakfast, we follow the adults in the family to visit the graves of all our ancestors. It takes an hour or two to walk around the mountains in the village and walk through more than a dozen graveyards, each with a certain distance between them. After arriving at each place, we first weeded the grass, then laid out the meat for sacrifices to , poured wine, burned paper money for them, we started to bow, and then lit a cannon!

4. Sacrifice to gods.

In my childhood memory, this link is the most complicated. Before the reunion dinner, we would first worship the sky in the courtyard, and then go to the main room to worship the ancestors. It seems that we children were asked to go behind the door to see if the ancestors had returned, but I have never seen it in my memory. Then we have to worship the Kitchen God in the kitchen and go to the pig pen to worship! Naturally, it is indispensable to fire a few artillery pieces during this period. Now it seems much simpler, just sacrifice to the ancestors before dinner and set off a big roll of firecrackers!

5. The excitement in the courtyard.

When we were young, we lived in a very large courtyard called the Li Family Courtyard. There must be no less than 20 families living here, and we share a common courtyard. After the family reunion dinner, everyone will gather in this courtyard to chat, play cards and other entertainment. With the changes of the times, there are currently only three or four families left in this compound. The others have moved out over the years and lived in small bungalows. In the afternoon, each family played its own game. Each family was scattered around the mountain and no longer gathered together.

6. Climb the mountain to the top.

After the family reunion dinner, a group of us children will go to climb a famous local mountain called "Flaming Mountain". Of course, this Flame Mountain is definitely not the Flame Mountain in "Journey to the West". It is said that this mountain used to be a stockade. When Zhang Xianzhong massacred Sichuan, our ancestors were not massacred because they guarded this stockade. The "Flaming Mountain" is quite lively on the afternoon of the Chinese New Year and the first day of the Lunar New Year, and there are many people climbing it. As for why I want to climb it, I don't know. Maybe it's just childhood entertainment! No one climbs this mountain anymore. I heard that the road is completely occupied by weeds.

7. Play with and use .

When we were young, we didn’t seem to have much fireworks or anything like that. We would set off firecrackers during the Chinese New Year, so we used our pocket money to buy firecrackers. For this reason, I also did many naughty things, such as putting it in the heart of cabbage in the ground and exploding the cabbage! Blow up nests next to other people's paddy fields! At that time, the cannon-wiping was divided into one-shot, two-shot, etc. I wonder if this thing still exists now!

8. Wear new clothes.

The first day of the Lunar New Year is the happiest. When you wake up in the morning, you have new clothes to wear and New Year's money . When I was a child, my family was poor and could not buy clothes many times throughout the year, mainly during the Chinese New Year. Not to mention the New Year's money, you can play as much as you want in the first year of junior high school, but it depends on it! Now that living conditions are better, clothes can be bought at any time, so there is no need to wear new clothes in the first year of junior high school.

In my memory of the late 1980s, the Chinese New Year was like this when I was a child. I wonder how it is different from yours? #headlinescreationchallenge##天南地 Peking University New Year greetings#
