I am a post-70s generation. In my childhood memory, the side foods from that year were full of temptations, no matter they were candies and pastries or canned cookies.

I am a post-70s. In my childhood memory, the side foods from that year were full of temptations, no matter they were candies and pastries or canned cookies.

I remember from the late 1970s to the early 1980s, every time I followed my parents on the street, in addition to loving to Xinhua Bookstore to buy villain books, the place I most wanted to go to was a food store.

What impressed me deeply was that at that time was a state-owned non-staple food store on the north side of the Xinhua Bookstore in Yuncheng at that time. As soon as I walked into the door, I smelled a sweet smell in the air. When I followed the fragrance, I saw the pastries and candy cubes placed on the glass counter and wooden shelves, and my stomach was already full of greed, and I wanted to eat anything like Zhu Bajie.

At that time, although my parents’ salary was not high, and they were only a few dozen yuan a month, I still bought snacks for each of my sister and I from time to time, such as waffle cakes worth two cents and five cents and animal biscuits worth four cents. It can be seen that no parents don’t care about their children.

But if you want to ask, what local foods I ate in that era, I really don’t remember that clearly, but Fu Tonghui dim sum is unforgettable for life.

However, I am more picky about eating Futonghui dim sum, which means I prefer to eat jujube paste stuffing. However, in the dim sum of 80 cents per pound, there were not many jujube paste stuffing. Most of them were filled with green and red silk . So I broke it apart one by one. If it was jujube paste, I would chew it in the mouth without saying anything. I thought I was really willful when I was a child and only considered my own taste preferences.

. Nowadays, Futonghui dim sum can be selected and matched with any filling, but I rarely eat it. It may be related to the high price as it is as famous as it is! If you have to buy it, it is often just a gift to give it to relatives from other places.

By the way, Ruicheng Macao from that year was also a sweet dessert for me. Not only was it very sweet and delicious, but the packaging box was also full of flowers. Unlike now, what I buy is large in packaging and small in weight.

Jiefang Road is close to the cinema. It originally opened a store that also operates non-staple foods. It seems to be affiliated with a fruit company, so it mainly sells dried and fresh fruits such as melons and fruits.

Although the business site here is not big, it is close to the theater, so the sales situation is no problem. It also leaves me with many memories of light luxury desserts, such as Tianjin Limin Li Mutton with a cent of 70 cents, which is packaged in a slender carton. I still love to eat it until now. In addition, there is also the hawthorn cake in Sanzhi, which I also like to eat. The store was still open until the mid-to-late 1990s.

It is reported that the fruit company has a second store on North Street (now Fenghuang Road). It should be on the south side of the former People's Theater or opposite the former Phoenix Hotel?

Next, let my memories come to an end. The following are some pictures of some old packaging of Yuncheng non-staple foods. Please look at the pictures and find "memories" each!

At that time, candy could be sold in terms of pellets, and ordinary fruit candy cost per cent. Even if some candies are left for a long time and they are mixed with candy paper, they can still be eaten with relish. If I could eat 2 yuan five cents per pound of Shanghai-made big white rabbit milk candy , it would be even more aftertaste, because this is a "noble food"!

There are two kinds of local candy in the picture above. Maybe it’s just that the wrapping paper is different. Yuncheng Candy Pastry Factory located on Jiefang North Road is a national enterprise that produces 38 varieties in three categories, including candy, pastries, biscuits, etc. Among them, assorted candies won the Commercial System Quality Product Award in 1982.

Pinglu County Canning Factory Products

At that time, canned food was also a high-end food. Generally, people only bought it during festivals, gifts and visiting patients. A bottle of canned fruit is about 1 yuan and 50 cents.

I remember the first time I ate canned fruits, when I was about 10 years old and was hospitalized in the town hospital due to gas poisoning. My father bought me canned in a glass bottle of canned oranges. I was so happy at that time. However, it is not easy to open the can, and it takes some effort. When opening the bottle, fix the bottle body with one hand and hold the bottle opener with the other hand. Then use the sharp end with a sharp corner to poke a small hole on the iron sheet covering the mouth of the bottle, and then cut it in an annular shape along the cut. After the circumcision is completed, when lifting the iron cover, be careful to scratch the edge of the iron cover, unlike now, you only need to gently lift the bottle cap with a flat screwdriver to unscrew it.

I can’t remember where I ate canned foods from that time. However, Pinglu County Canned Food Factory was very famous in Yuncheng area at that time. There are 18 varieties of canned fruits and 5 types of canned meat. In 1983, the factory’s annual output accounted for about one-third of the total canned food in the province.

Wenxi Cooking Cakes

At that time, I actually ate less snacks, because my family usually only bought them during festivals. Of course, I thought the best thing was the southern-style detailed "Fu Tonghui", a well-known "Chinese time-honored brand" in Yuncheng.

I also liked to eat Wenxi’s cooked cakes since I was a child. However, when I was young, I didn’t know that I had mentioned by literary master Lu Xun, “ I carried two packs of Wenxi’s cooked cakes to see my friend Wei Lianzhu ”. I also used gifts to visit Chinese People’s Volunteer Army on the Korean battlefield. In 1981, I entered the Hong Kong market and won the Shanxi Provincial People’s Government high-quality product certificate.

Wenxi cooked cakes are sweet and delicious when you have it, and the crispy sand is not greasy, and the price is suitable. Now, it only costs about six or seven yuan per catty, which is rare.

At that time, biscuits, melon seeds, and small champagne were also the delicacies I missed. What are the cookies? My parents bought the most often at that time, and this type of tough biscuits should be considered as educational foods, which can be taught in "eating". I remember that before eating each time, I always classify "animals", such as how many roosters have the same shape, how many tigers have the same shape, and how many rabbits have the most. After classification, eat which shape has the most shapes, and leave them to the last.

melon seeds are mostly bought at the convenience store at the entrance of the theater when booking a movie at school. At that time, melon seeds are wrapped in newspapers, or plastic bags sealed with hacksaw blades. When watching the movie, everyone spits out sweet potato seed shells with cracklings, which is also an unforgettable memory.

. Little champagne was considered a high-end drink back then. The price of a bottle of about 50 cents was not affordable for most kids. In fact, Little champagne is just a drink made of sugar water and spices, and has no connection with champagne, but its name is so fashionable and tastes refreshing than soda.

Review of Yuncheng's former state-owned non-staple food (fruit) store, it has long disappeared with the development of the times, and those foods that were full of the sense of the times have also turned into taste bud memories lingering on the tip of the tongue.

So, why do old Yuncheng people feel beautiful when they recall memories, and then they will be happy even if they can’t afford to just smell it?

is certainly related to the shortage of goods in the planned economy era and the generally low living standards of people, but the most important thing is to make the real money.

In that era, manufacturers strictly configured food ingredients in proportion, which means that good materials and sufficient materials are real materials, so the quality of the things and the taste are pure, so everyone has high recognition.

And now, it is all-inclusive, convenient and fast online shopping. Although I have bought nostalgic foods such as plum candy, sorghum japonica , 3 wheat milk essence , but savory freshness when I first ate , I will be satisfied with my mentality, but when I eat it, it is boring, and I can't taste the taste of my childhood...

Maybe the world is really changing fast, and it has not only changed the taste, but also people's hearts.
