All the cheeses that were shortlisted in this competition must be screened by the judges group. The judges will taste and evaluate different types of cheeses. First, they will compete for 98 "super gold medals" champions, and then determine 16 top contestants among them. Among the last 16, one of the top judges will select the strongest cheese of the year.
This year's winner was Le Gruyère AOP surchoix from Switzerland . The judges commented that the champion cheese was a "really exquisite handmade cheese" that instantly melted on the tip of the tongue, with a milky aroma, and also with the aroma of herbs, fruits and leather. Second place is Gorgonzola Dolce DOP, a soft blue butter cheese made from Italian De' Magi.

The cheeses that participated in this competition come from all over the world, and many judges teams exclaimed the craftsmanship and taste of these top cheeses.
Judges Danielle Bliss and Philippe Dumain told reporters: "This is a very, very difficult to decide. Every cheese is so excellent. They are the best choice for cooking and baking. This is simply a cheese paradise. I really hope these cheeses are all in my house!"
The judges' task is to rate each of about 50 cheeses based on their visual appearance, aroma, taste and taste. The best ones are awarded gold, silver or bronze, and each judge has the right to choose a cheese as the "super gold" one.
