On October 18, China Energy Construction and Saudi new energy developer ACWA Power successfully signed a cooperation agreement for the Al Shuaibah 2.6GW photovoltaic power generation project contracted by the Saudi public investment fund (PIF) on Dubai . The
project is located in the Al Shuaibah area about 80 kilometers south of Jeddah City, Mecca Province, Saudi Arabia. The cooperation content mainly includes the design, procurement, construction and debugging of two photovoltaic power stations. is expected to start construction in the first quarter of 2023.
This project is the second large-scale new energy power generation project released by the Saudi Public Investment Fund (PIF) through negotiation cooperation. The goal is to accelerate Saudi Arabia's goal of achieving its 58.7GW new energy power generation installed capacity.
* Previously, PIF had released a 1.5GW Saudi Sudair photovoltaic power generation project, which was jointly invested and developed by ACWA Power, a subsidiary of PIF, and Amei Energy Investment Company. The project has entered the implementation stage. The signing of the
project is another important achievement of China-Saudi enterprises in promoting the docking of Saudi Arabia's "2030 Vision " with the "Belt and Road" initiative. At the same time, it will continue to expand the pragmatic cooperation between China Energy Construction and ACWA Power in the global new energy field.
