Italian textile machinery manufacturers will continue to grow in 2023

Alessandro Zucchi, president of the Italian Textile Machinery Manufacturers Association (ACIMIT), revealed that preliminary data for 2022 show that the value of Italian machinery production is expected to exceed 2.5 billion euros.
"President Alessandro Zucchi also added that exports accounted for more than 85% of this value compared to the previous year. Economic conditions and political tensions in 2022 threaten business activity in all sectors. 2023 - Acimit estimates for 2026 still show slight growth in demand for textile machinery. China, Turkey, the United States and India are the top markets for Italian textile machinery manufacturers. In 2023, Türkiye, India and Uzbekistan are expected to grow faster. In fact, Türkiye is Italy's second largest market after China. In the first half of 2022, Italy exported textile machines to Türkiye at a price of 145 million euros.

Chairman Acimit pointed out that digitalization has penetrated more and more into Italian textile machine manufacturing companies. After a detailed audit of their processes, manufacturers will receive digital readiness certification. Efficient and digital machines reduce the use of resources, he said. He revealed that a survey of green labels produced from 2016 to the present showed that the quantified emissions avoided by using green label machines were 1.2 billion tons of carbon dioxide, equivalent to 221,187 cars driving 35.000 km in a year.
Zucchi expects ITMA 2023 to be the largest ITMA ever, with approximately 1,500 companies from around the world, including 380 Italian exhibitors. Italian companies will present to ITMA 2023 innovative technological solutions that will reduce energy consumption and raw materials.
