Zhejiang Province has taken off through the prosperity of the private economy in the early days of reform and opening up . In just one or two decades, it has transformed into a province with the highest level of people's livelihood in China. But in fact, Zhejiang's small and scattered industry and commerce has hit a growth bottleneck in the new century. If it is not updated and upgraded in time, it may hinder economic growth at a certain stage.
So around 2012, we started the economic transformation , and called on Zhejiang businessmen from abroad to return to their hometowns to invest in order to accelerate the transformation. So after 10 years of updating and upgrading, what achievements have Zhejiang Province and its cities achieved? Which cities are transforming more effectively, and are there any left behind?
In the 10 years from 2011 to 2021, GDP has increased by 127.5%, expanding from 3.23 trillion to 7.35 trillion. Judging from its own growth situation, it is quite satisfactory, but compared with other provinces, it is a bit slow. Looking at the growth rate of each branch city, it is greatly affected by the relative weakness of some cities.
Among the 11 cities in the province, the cumulative growth rate of 7 is lower than that of the whole province, and there are also Shaoxing, Taizhou and Quzhou with growth rates of just over 100%, which is obviously a decline. In particular, Shaoxing and Taizhou are not small in terms of volume in the province, and their low growth has a certain effect on the province's operating speed.
Shaoxing City had a GDP of 333.2 billion in 2011. At that time, the competition with Wenzhou City for the third place was still fierce, but by 2021, Wenzhou City had already lost nearly 80 billion, making it difficult to catch up. Wenzhou City's 10-year cumulative growth rate of 121.9% is not too fast, but it is still much faster than Shaoxing City's 104% growth rate, so its third position in the province has been stabilized.
Taizhou City was still ranked fifth in the province in 2021, but due to its low speed, it was surpassed by Jiaxing a few years ago. By 2021, it has been surpassed by Jiaxing by nearly 60 billion. It is really difficult to come back and overtake.
Shaoxing and Taizhou, as well as Jinhua and Wenzhou are two cities that are not growing too fast. They are all typical small and medium-sized private enterprises in Zhejiang Province. In recent years, due to the new requirements of environmental protection and per-acre yield efficiency, a large number of enterprises have relocated, which has indeed caused certain problems for their economic growth . Generally speaking, GDP growth can be understood.
Relatively speaking, Hangjiahu, Ningbo and other places that are located around Shanghai and have better geographical conditions have achieved good transformation results in the past 10 years, especially in the rapid growth of large-scale industries. This has also brought about considerable changes in the economic structure of cities in the province.
Jiaxing and Huzhou html The cumulative GDP growth rate in 2010 is close to 140%, which should be relatively rapid. But compared with the two cities of Hangzhou and Ningbo, they pale in comparison. The past 10 years can be said to be the 10 years in which the two leading cities have further expanded their economic advantages in the province. Of course, it is also somewhat detrimental to the balanced development of the province, depending on personal observation.
Among them, Hangzhou City is the most rapid, with a cumulative growth of 158% in 10 years, and GDP expanded from 701.91 billion to 1.81 trillion; Ningbo City ranked second with a growth rate of 140.9%, and GDP will also reach 1.45949 billion in 2021. It has jumped to 12th place after ranking 15th in the country that year, and is expected to hit the top 10 domestically in a few years.
The rise of the two leading cities, Hangzhou and Ningbo, has greatly helped to improve the status of central cities in Zhejiang Province among domestic cities, but it has also widened the economic gap between cities in the province. The second-placed Ningbo City's advantage over the third-placed Wenzhou City in 2021 has reached nearly 700 billion. If Ningbo's growth rate does not slow down in the next few years, it is likely to form a 2-fold difference over Wenzhou City.
Of course, the transformation effects of Wenzhou, Shaoxing, Taizhou and other cities have also begun to show in recent years. I hope they can catch up with the fast pace of Hangzhou and Ningbo as soon as possible and not continue to be enlarged, and they can also contribute to the steady upward trend of the province!
