According to September 30, 2022 People’s Bank of China Notice on lowering the interest rate of the first personal housing provident fund loan" (Yinfa [2022] No. 226) requires that the relevant matters of the adjustment of the personal housing provident fund loan interest rate are as follows:
1. From October 1, 2022, the interest rate of the first personal housing provident fund loan will be reduced by 0.15 percentage points, and the interest rates below 5 years (including 5 years) and above 5 years will be adjusted to 2.6% and 3.1% respectively. The interest rate policy for the second set of personal housing provident fund loans remains unchanged, that is, the interest rates below 5 years (including 5 years) and above 5 years are 3.025% and 3.575% respectively.
2. If the personal housing provident fund loan issued before October 1, 2022 and the loan term is more than 1 year, the new interest rate standard will be implemented from January 1, 2023.
3. The first personal housing provident fund loan that has been accepted but has not been issued before October 1, 2022 will be subject to the new interest rate standard when issuing.
