In an exclusive interview with China News Agency reporters, Zhang Jinxiong had just attended a multilateral economic and trade forum with representatives from China and Indonesia and delivered an online speech.
As the general chairman of the Indonesian Chinese Chamber of Commerce , Zhang Jinxiong has a deep understanding of the close relations between China and Indonesia over the past ten years. In his opinion, the economic and trade relations between Indonesia and China over the past decade were "the closest decade in history."

Zhang Jinxiong introduced that in the past ten years, especially in the past five years, the friendly development of Indonesia and China has been in all aspects and in all fields. The two countries have frequent high-level exchanges, close economic and trade cooperation, and enthusiastic cultural exchanges.
"The Indonesian people will soon realize their dream of high-speed rail. One beautiful environmental protection industrial park after another is put into production, one power station after another, one reservoir after another, one highway after another is opened to traffic, one batch of Indonesian students go to China to study, more and more Chinese tourists have experienced the beautiful scenery and culture of Indonesia, and even such a cute giant panda has come to Indonesia..." Zhang Jinxiong said that all of this is the harvest and embodiment of the "beautiful decade" of Indonesia's relations with China.
In business, Zhang Jinxiong specifically introduced the economic and trade cooperation between the two countries. Despite the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic and various global uncertainties, in 2021, the bilateral trade volume between Indonesia and China exceeded US$120 billion, a year-on-year increase of 58.6%. China has become Indonesia's largest trading partner for nine consecutive years; in the same year, China invested US$3.16 billion in Indonesia, maintaining its position as the third largest source of investment for many years.
Zhang Jinxiong said that by jointly building the "Belt and Road", China will bring mature technology, advanced experience and sufficient capital to Indonesia, injecting vitality and impetus into Indonesia's economic development.
In the second quarter of this year, Indonesia's GDP (GDP) increased by 5.44% year-on-year, and its growth rate exceeded the level before the outbreak of the new crown epidemic and continued the economic recovery momentum since the second quarter of 2021. Zhang Jinxiong believes that whether it is epidemic prevention and control or economic recovery, the achievements made by Indonesia are closely related to Indonesia's cooperation with China.
At the end of July this year, Indonesian President Joko visited China. He is the first foreign head of state received by China after the Beijing Winter Olympics. The two heads of state affirmed the major progress made in bilateral trade cooperation in recent years and emphasized their commitment to increasing the scale of bilateral trade.
This is a visit. The two heads of state agreed to establish the general direction of jointly building a community with a shared future between China and Indonesia, and to build a model for mutual benefit and win-win results for major developing countries, a model for common development, and a pioneer in South-South cooperation. Zhang Jinxiong believes that cooperation between the two countries will be closer in various fields in the future.
