These five central enterprises are large multinational enterprise groups directly managed by the State-owned Assets Supervision and Administration Commission. China Petroleum, Oriental Electric Group, China Merchants Group, and China Railway Corporation all operate across industries. In addition to their main business, they are also engaged in international trade , finance, logistics and other businesses. China Railway Corporation also invests in the development of real estate development business. China Mobile is more focused on mobile communications business, and the group company tends to have closer management of its subsidiaries.
