Waste incineration power generation is developing at an alarming rate. According to incomplete statistics, 54 projects were put into operation in various regions throughout the country in the first half of this year.
54 projects put into operation have released a total of about 60,000 tons of waste incineration capacity per day, with a total investment of 33.6 billion yuan. Among them, the second phase of the incineration project in Changsha (5,000 tons/day) invested and operated by Hunan Junxin Environmental Protection Co., Ltd. is the largest waste-to-energy project put into operation this year.
The projects put into production are mainly concentrated in East China, Central China, and North China, accounting for 68% of the total. In East China, Zhejiang Province has the most production, with 4, accounting for 28% of the total production in East China, followed by Anhui. Hubei Province in Central China has the largest number of commissioned projects, with 6, accounting for 50% of the total commissioned projects in Central China, followed by Henan Province, accounting for 28%. Hebei Province has the most commissioned projects in North China, with 7 projects, accounting for 75% of the total commissioned projects in North China.
In the first half of the year, Everbright Environmental has put into operation 10 waste incineration power generation projects, ranking first, China Environmental Protection Group Co., Ltd. has put into operation 7 waste incineration power generation projects, Weiming Environmental Protection and Wangneng Environmental protection has put into production 3 projects respectively, and the number of other waste-to-energy groups put into operation is 1 to 2 projects.
According to industry insiders, 2021-2022 will be the "big year" for the waste incineration power generation industry to start production, and the market size is expected to reach 100 billion yuan.
