Ten years ago, Takeuchi Ryo failed to capture the first drop of water in the Yangtze River. To make up for his regret, his first stop chose to look for the first drop of water at the source of the Yangtze River.

In order to experience the changes of the Yangtze River in the past ten years, Takeuchi decided to adopt a special way of travel. He took the truck of Li Wu, a freight driver on the Qinghai-Tibet line , to the west source of the Yangtze River - Tuotuo River . Qinghai-Tibet Highway is the highest freight highway in the world. With the rapid economic development of the Tibet Autonomous Region in recent years, the cargo flow of the Qinghai-Tibet line is also growing rapidly. The logistics company to which Li Wu belongs only opened this line in 2017, and now the flow of goods on this line has tripled.

Li Wu has been traveling on this road all the year round, with food and lodging in the car. Although it was hard work, he was able to earn a monthly salary of 40,000 yuan, which made him very satisfied with his low education level. Li Wu has four children, and in order to earn money to support his family, he can only go home every two months. Every time he mentioned his family, Li Wu couldn't help crying.

At the Tuotuo River, Takeuchi Ryo and Li Wu are separated. Before leaving, Takeuchi Ryo asked him, what is your greatest wish? Li Wu said: "My biggest wish is to save enough money as soon as possible to go back to my hometown to open an auto repair shop, so that I can see my children every day."

After ten years, I came to the Tuotuo River again, and the Tuotuo River is the same as before. The land flows quietly, but everything along its shores has changed dramatically. New bridges and new roads have been built, and people, vehicles, and even buildings are not what they used to be. Takeuchi even discovered a coffee shop here.

Documentary

Takeuchi Ryo walked into this coffee shop and found that there is a place where you can exchange garbage for free coffee, and the next table happens to be the ecological protection volunteers in , the source of the Yangtze River. Out of curiosity, Takeuchi decided to walk with these volunteers for a while.

The main job of this group of volunteers is to do garbage surveys. They picked up the garbage that people discarded here for classification research, and sorted out the brands of the most common garbage packaging, hoping to get in touch with these brands and let them change the packaging of items to more environmentally friendly ones. s material.

There are about 400 million people living in the Yangtze River Basin. If the source is polluted, the production and life of people along the Yangtze River Basin will be affected. In the future, these volunteer groups also plan to gradually develop to the middle and lower reaches of the Yangtze River. They are doing their best to protect the ecological environment of the source of the Yangtze River and the people living near the Yangtze River.

After saying goodbye to the volunteers, Ryo Takeuchi and his party drove to Jiang Gudiru Glacier . "Jiang Gudiru" means "Wolf Mountain" in Tibetan. It means "people can't get over it". This snow-capped mountain is located on the southwest side of Tanggula Mountains Geladandong Snow Mountain (belonging to the south of Tanggula Mountain Township, Qinghai Province), with an altitude of more than 5,400 meters, from which the Tuotuo River originates. Jiang Gudi, like the melting water of the glacier, converges into a small river, which is the first water flow out of the Yangtze River, and the first drop of water from the source of the Yangtze River comes from here.

But on the way to the glacier, Takeuchi Ryo and his party encountered an accident. While driving, the wheels got stuck in the wet mud and couldn't start. Because in the wild, their communication equipment also completely lost the signal. Ryo Takeuchi waited for hours in despair, the temperature was dropping, and he even felt that his life would end here. But fortunately, they were discovered by the patrolling grassland managers, who quickly rescued them and pulled the wheels out of the mud. After the disaster, Takeuchi Ryo and others were taken to the home of Sonam Danzhen, one of the Tibetans who rescued them.

These Tibetans live in yurts near the glacier. Danzhen said that it would only cost four or five thousand yuan to build such a yurt. They rely on cattle and sheep for a living, rely on solar energy to generate electricity, go to the river to fetch water every day, and live the most simple herdsman life. The melting water of the glacier is very clean and has a hint of sweetness, which is better than the mineral water sold outside.

Documentary

Takeuchi Ryo asks Tenma, do you want to leave your hometown and go to a big city? Danzhen said: "I don't want to leave my hometown. My hometown is beautiful, the air is good, the environment is good, and I live very comfortably here. I hope to be able to live here until the end of my life."

Documentary

After a long journey, Takeuchi Ryo finally Arrived at the foot of the glacier, but due to altitude sickness and lack of physical strength, considering safety issues, he unfortunately could not go to the glacier in person, so he had to leave it to other teammates to shoot alone. Ten years ago, Takeuchi Ryo failed to photograph the first drop of water from the source of the Yangtze River. Now this wish is fulfilled by his younger generation. And the story of Takeuchi Ryo's reunion with the Yangtze River will also start from this first drop of water.
