My name is Hofde, I am a German. I have lived in China for 9 years and it is also the most wonderful time in my life. But after all, I am a foreigner and do not have the qualification to settle permanently, so I finally returned to China. In China over the years, it has changed psychologically and behaviorally, because China is really too developed, and it is far ahead of the Internet compared to Germany and even Europe. For example, in the payment field, Europeans are still using banknotes, while Chinese people only need electronic payment methods such as facial recognition or fingerprints, which is much inferior to Germany.

I studied in China for 7 years, and because my girlfriend is Chinese, I lived in China for two more years for love. As I was blocked by my girlfriend’s parents, after finally breaking up, I had to return to my hometown, but when I returned to Germany, I was not used to it in my life. Even if I am reluctant to leave China, I can’t be a “Chinese” after all, but can only be a short-term traveler. I still feel very uncomfortable in this regard.

In fact, many times, when you like an environment or a place, it is almost impossible to erase it from the heart. For example, I love the city of Chongqing deeply. Even if I have been back in Germany for four years, Chongqing’s streets and alleys will appear in my dreams, Chongqing hotpot , and their unique dialects.

I was born in 1989 in Munich, Germany. My parents are both intellectuals. This is also the key factor in why all our five children can receive a good education. I am the youngest son in the family, and I have a younger sister under me, who is currently living in Beijing, China.

Like many German families, parents tend to be more interested in hobbies when educating us, and there is no fixed saying what you must learn and what you don’t learn. So before coming to China, I didn’t know that there is another way to learn in this world in “credit classes”. What surprised me even more is that many children in a country need to go through this stage.

I have had a wide range of interests and hobbies since I was a child. Whether it is knowledge in books or other aspects of life, I can easily master it. My parents often say to my friends: "Hoffde is the child who has the most troublesome to me. He always likes many things, which makes us unable to judge which aspect he has the advantage."

As I grew up, I was very interested in philosophy and history. So when I was in middle school, I studied "History of Asia" and "History of China". I was attracted by the 5,000-year-old Chinese civilization and spontaneously started to learn Chinese. This also allowed my parents to see the direction of my future pursuit and asked my friends to bring me a lot of precious information.

After finishing high school, I came to Asia alone at the age of 17, traveling while working. After going to more than 20 Asian countries, I decided to study in China. At this time, I had to ask my parents for their tuition funding.

Because I have been to several cities in China before, but I have a special liking for the mountain city of Chongqing. When I was studying abroad, I chose Chongqing University without hesitation. I spent 7 years in this mountain school. Because they can speak Chinese, they save a year of Chinese study. Most students in international classes need to study Chinese for one year unless these foreign students come to China to major in Chinese.

In Chongqing, you will never lack food. There are all kinds of delicious foods from all over the world. Whether you are in the city center or in the streets and alleys, you can find the food you want. And I am born to be greedy and like to cook. During my nine years in China, I have visited many masters and learned a lot of dishes.

Of course, some interesting things often happen during the process of reading.

Once when I was running in the morning, a boy suddenly came over and asked me: Have you ever dated a Chinese girlfriend?

I didn't understand why, so I asked, "What does it mean?"

The boy said, "You foreigners, studying in China, then making money in China, and dating Chinese girls. In the end, they made money and abandoned Chinese girls. Don't you know that there are more men and fewer women in China?"

After he said that, I still don't know what it means!

He only said one word to me in the end: Get out!

This incident made me feel puzzled. I think this is a personal matter and it seems to have nothing to do with him, but this incident has not affected my future life.

Of course, life is more beautiful. Chinese people are very enthusiastic and are very friendly to me, a guest who has come from afar. Every year during the Chinese New Year, classmates invite me to spend the Chinese New Year together. In fact, Chinese people have done a great job in inheriting the New Year. No matter which ethnic group, when it comes to the New Year, everyone should prepare New Year’s goods and post couplets.

After graduating from university, I continued to study for graduate school. During this period, I dated a Chinese girlfriend and loved her very much. From the beginning, I felt that she was the goddess in my mind.

At that time, I had no money, and I also knew that Chinese girls like romance, and romance may be a necessity for women all over the world. In order to make my girlfriend happy, I work very hard. She has to work overtime every Saturday, and I also do two jobs on this day just to buy her favorite desserts.

Many Chinese friends think that I am too attentive to my girlfriend, and this will make you a bad habit. However, in my heart, only by treating her well can we show how much I love him.

After obtaining a master's degree, I thought about taking my girlfriend back to Germany, but my girlfriend's father did not agree, and they all refused to see me, saying that his daughter could not marry far away, and even if I stayed in China, I would not agree. After two years of stalemate, my girlfriend finally broke up and said, "I'm about to get married. It's my blind date introduced to me by my father. I'm sorry, I'm wasting so much time."

At that moment, my heart felt like blood was dripping, and it hurts. I also made up my mind to return to Germany.

But at the moment when I really returned to Germany, I suddenly realized that I was a little uncomfortable in my hometown. Whether it was lifestyle or psychologically, even though I had been back in Germany for four years, many times I still maintained the habits when I was in China, which even my parents found incredible.

To be honest, I miss my time in China very much. Sometimes I even fantasize that if I work in China, can I live there all my life? Some Chinese friends also said: You can marry a Chinese girl so that you can settle down.

In fact, I have no idea about marriage. Since I broke up with my Chinese girlfriend, I have never contacted girls again. Of course, I also long for a loyal love, but beautiful people are always so difficult to meet.
