As a middle school class teacher for many years, I have seen many students with uneven habits and abilities in class, in interactions with students, and when checking homework correction test papers. These habits and abilities have a profound impact on their academic performance and behavior, and they have to be taken seriously. Therefore, when entering the middle school stage, in order not to let your children fall behind from the beginning, I suggest that parents and primary school teachers should pay attention to the cultivation of the following habits in primary school stage.
1. The habit of writing seriously. As a middle school student, he first presented his writing in front of all the teachers. What’s more, every exam is ultimately reflected in writing. But the reality is that what I teach is an ordinary high school, where boys generally have poor writing and girls are relatively good. There are 60 students in my class, more than half of which have poor writing, and more than a dozen are terrible, and their handwriting is simply unrecognizable.
Last year, I taught 50 boys and 12 girls in the class I taught Chinese. I remember that only one boy wrote neatly and gracefully, four or five girls wrote very well, and other students almost wiped them out in their writing. Whenever I correct my homework, I will be numb to my scalp.
Compared with primary school students, middle school students have more courses and are usually more rushing. Calligraphy practice has actually become empty talk. The busy homework will make their writing worse. Therefore, in the primary school stage, it is recommended that parents pay attention to their children's writing from the beginning, cooperate with primary school teachers to urge their children to write every word well, and write our Chinese characters neatly and beautifully.
2. The habit of listening attentively in class. Most middle school students can actually listen attentively in class, but the problem of students who cannot listen attentively is that they are difficult to calm down. They unconsciously look around and say something irrelevant to the students in front, back and left and right, to look in the mirror, cut their nails, and play with some small objects in their hands. After being reminded by the teacher, I paid attention to it, and my nature was exposed after a long time.
The problem is based on the nature of children. Some students are indeed able to sit still, but some students have poor concentration. However, I think the key to the problem is that such students lack strict discipline in the habit-building stage. Therefore, parents should pay attention to cultivating their children's habit of focusing on doing one thing in their early years. Primary school teachers should conduct more rigorous training on this prominent issue of primary school students.
3. The habit of doing homework independently. The problem of is reflected in self-study classes, especially when the teacher does not clarify the tasks for students, some students appear to be idle and do not know what to do. The actual situation is that they can’t finish their homework every day. This problem reflects that such children cannot plan their own affairs independently. Our parents should cultivate their independence in primary school, take the initiative to give their children some things, let them take responsibility, think independently, and then learn to solve them alone. Over time, we believe that they will become an independent individual in the issues within their ability.
4. The habit of completing homework on time. : Delay and delay are believed to be the nature of each of us, but my point of view is that we lack basic attitudes and due training for such a problem.
My child is still young, and he is in kindergarten and has to take online classes during online classes. Of course, it is some simple literacy games or activities. My wife is not an educator and I found that he showed a very indifferent attitude towards submitting homework to his children on time. I have always asked students to submit homework on time, and I have unintentionally formed such an idea and behavior. Whenever I receive the teacher’s homework, if I don’t finish the handover that day, I will be anxious. If possible, you must submit it no matter how late it is. If the submission is delayed, the submission will also be made up on the second and third day. It’s really hard to get through my heart if I have sex late or end up leaving it alone.
Complete homework on the same day. This habit or ability actually requires training. This attitude of children should be cultivated at the student stage.
5. Reading habits. Some children will like reading through training, but we find that even if we train them seriously, we still don’t seem to be interested in reading at all. Of course, there is a tendency for children to be interested in this, but what I want to talk about is to cultivate children's basic reading habits.
Children have different interests, but the most basic knowledge gained in the study stage is through books. Therefore, it is recommended that parents create a quiet reading environment for children in primary school as much as possible. The reading mentioned here is not just literary works, but refers to all reading materials that express content in language and words. The opposite of language and text is video format, such as watching TV and short videos on mobile phones. We must gradually cultivate children's abstract thinking ability through reading and understanding language and characters in primary school, but the form of video cannot achieve such a leap in thinking.
6. Develop the habit of reading and taking notes. The reading notes here specifically refer to the habit of children taking notes when reading any text book. Maybe they don’t have to write words, but just use a pen to mark the sentences they like or sentences they think are important.
In high school Chinese teaching, it is still found that some students do not have the awareness or habit of taking notes and marking key points when previewing the new Chinese lessons, and do not even have the awareness of marking out the natural paragraphs of the text. Just reading is previewing, and the content of the text is still blank, without any trace of reading. This kind of reading is an ineffective reading.
7. Clean up your own habit of writing and writing. When I was teaching in the first grade of junior high school a few years ago, I was very impressed by it. There was a boy's desk and pockets full of messes, and his books and homework were stuffed with garbage, so that the underside of the seat were also books and garbage that he threw away casually. I criticized him, and he had a very good attitude and quickly made a random move. However, the good times did not last long, and his position was like the first time I met him.
I give this example to illustrate that sometimes children do not want to deliberately make a mess of their location, but precisely because they lack the awareness and habit of organizing stationery or cleaning.
I'm talking about an extreme example above, and the general problem is that most students lack the habit of sorting out their homework. Therefore, teachers often see such a scene. When the teacher wants to comment on a certain test paper, many students will carry out all the books in their desks and pockets and search in a hurry. Students who are used to it can find a certain test paper in just one minute because they have archived and sorted their books and articles in advance.
8. Keep healthy and then do not get sick and do not ask for leave. I am leading a special class this year, and there are more problematic students than before.
Our school takes a break every two weeks. Over the past six months, our class has shown a very obvious feature, that is, students generally take leave more times during each week. I have always had very strict control over the leave of students, but I have to approve our students' leave of absence because they do show obvious physical and psychological problems. At the beginning, as the number of people taking leave increased, I was very annoyed. Later, after several rounds of leave, I gradually discovered that one of the fundamental reasons why these children have poor grades and many psychological problems may be that they are physically ill.
Many students have learned that they have symptoms such as gastritis, headaches, insomnia all year round, have poor physical resistance, are often prone to fever and colds, have serious obstacles in interacting with students, often have self-harm behavior, and are easily injured in their legs and feet during activities.
Physiological diseases cause them to have extremely poor mental state, so they often need treatment or relief and take leave. A direct result of frequent leave requests is academic delay. If you get sick, you can often take three days, five days or even half a month. You can imagine how much delays such a child will have to be in his entire study stage, and his grades will naturally be delayed.
Therefore, as parents, we must pay attention to the health of our children in our early stages, cultivate good habits of eating healthy and exercising, pay attention to preventing children from getting sick, strive to keep children healthy first, and then try not to ask for leave at will.
or above eight habits to cultivate children. I have a deep feeling when working as a middle school class teacher for many years. It is recommended that parents and friends who have children can refer to it. If possible, cultivate these habits in primary school, and the next study will be much easier for children.
