In August 2022, the sudden outbreak of the new coronavirus disrupted the normal education and teaching order in Gyantse County . Teachers and students failed to return to campus on time to study and live. Under the unified deployment of the Autonomous Region Education Department, Gyantse County has launched an online teaching model since August 17.

The epidemic has changed students' learning and lifestyle. The nervousness and worry brought about by the epidemic, the lack of freedom at home for a long time, and the new situation of delayed school start make everyone feel anxious. In order to alleviate psychological problems such as anxiety, worry, and fear among teachers and students, teachers are guided to correctly understand the epidemic and online teaching with a more confident and sunny attitude, so as to provide students with good education. On the afternoon of August 28, Comrade Li Chun, a member of the 10th batch of Shanghai aid-Tibet Gyantse team and deputy director of the Gyantse County Education Bureau, conducted a video lecture titled "Fighting the Epidemic Together and Building a Mental Health Defense Line for Epidemic Prevention and Control" in the form of a video lecture. Special lectures on mental health. In the lecture, Comrade Li Chun scientifically taught the participating teachers the importance and urgency of mental health education during the epidemic prevention and control period, and introduced relevant knowledge; from three aspects: students, parents, and teachers, using popular methods The language allows participants to understand and master the basic methods of adjusting their own psychological conditions and related skills to relieve psychological stress.

He pointed out: We educators must first understand the new coronavirus scientifically and avoid excessive anxiety; secondly, we must divert attention during special periods and not be demanding and force ourselves; thirdly, we must establish a positive thinking mode and turn stress into Motivation, keep in mind the teacher’s sense of responsibility and mission; fourth, have a reasonable work and rest schedule, and a normal diet , live a regular life, exercise moderately, and ensure physical and mental health; fifth, we must handle various relationships reasonably and change our identities and roles; sixth, major schools must formulate an implementation plan for student mental health education during the epidemic prevention and control period as soon as possible, and hold three meetings (Training meetings for all teachers, student counseling meetings, parent meetings) 7. Do a good job of collecting and summarizing cases.

Teachers participating in the meeting said: “This lecture has enabled us to learn a lot of knowledge and promote the development of personal mental health. We will devote ourselves to epidemic prevention and control and online teaching with a higher morale and a fuller spirit. At the same time, we must pass on the knowledge we have learned to every student and parent through videos to guide them to overcome fears and face difficulties bravely.”

The epidemic tests the spirit, and adversity tempers the will. The "Chicken Soup for the Soul" delivered by this lecture to the parents of teachers and students in our county will surely help teachers and students in our county improve their psychological immunity, lay a solid foundation for the next step of scientific prevention and control, and carry out study work in a reasonable and orderly manner.
