Fujian Province, referred to as "Min", is located on the southeast coast of my country, facing Taiwan Province of my country across the narrow Taiwan Strait to the east. It currently governs Fuzhou City, Putian City , Quanzhou City , Xiamen City , Zhangzhou City , Longyan City , Sanming City , Nanping City , Ningde City nine prefecture-level cities and one experimental zone ( Pingtan Comprehensive Experimental Zone ), the provincial capital Fuzhou City.

Fujian is mountainous and hilly with few plains. The plains are mainly concentrated in coastal cities, and the economy of coastal cities is also relatively developed. The distribution of university resources also corresponds to the economy. The distribution of universities in Fujian is seriously uneven in terms of region and quantity. Generally speaking, there are more coastal cities and fewer internal cities, and the quantitative gap is large.
According to the latest data, there are 89 colleges and universities in Fujian Province, and the number of college students in school is about 947,000.
Among these 89 colleges and universities, there are 39 undergraduate colleges and 50 colleges and universities.
Let’s first look at the data of Fujian colleges and universities (undergraduate):

39 undergraduate colleges and universities, Fuzhou ranks first with 18 undergraduate colleges, Quanzhou and Xiamen ranked second with 7, Zhangzhou ranked third, Putian, Longyan, Sanming, Nanping, Ningde were all home to one .
In terms of quantity, Fuzhou has the largest number, accounting for 46% of the total, nearly half of the total; while the three cities of Fuzhou, Xiamen and Quanzhou account for 82% of the total, and the remaining six cities only account for 18%. This shows that the resources of Fujian's undergraduate colleges are seriously unevenly distributed and too concentrated.
Let’s first look at the data of Fujian universities (junior colleges):

junior college There are 50 schools, of which Fuzhou ranks first with 17, Quanzhou ranks second with 11, Xiamen ranks third with 9, Zhangzhou ranks fourth with 5, Nanping ranks sixth with 3, Sanming ranks seventh with 2, and Longyan, Putian and Ningde each have 1 school.
The three cities of Fuzhou, Quanzhou and Xiamen have a combined number of 37, accounting for 74% of the total. The remaining six cities only account for 26%. Based on the data analysis, the distribution of colleges and universities in Fujian is also extremely uneven and too concentrated.
So, judging from the total number of 89 (39+50), Fuzhou ranks first with 35 (18+17), followed by Quanzhou with 18 (7+11) , Xiamen ranked third with 16 (7+9), Zhangzhou ranked fourth with 7 (2+5), Nanping ranked fifth with 4 (1+3), Sanming ranked sixth with 3 (1+2), while Putian, Ningde, and Longyan all ranked 2 (1+1).
Comprehensive data shows that Fujian's higher education resources are mainly distributed in Fuzhou, Quanzhou, and Xiamen. The total number in the three cities is 69 (32+37), of which undergraduates account for 82% and junior college students account for 74%. The number in these three cities accounts for nearly 80%.
writes at the end: From the analysis of the existing urban planning, the university towns in Fuzhou and Xiamen have been built to a certain scale. Among them, Fuzhou has plans to build a new university town, the second university town, which will make a great contribution to improving the city's business card and urban development.
Xiamen's university towns are also constantly expanding in terms of construction. Judging from the universities in the two university towns, the universities in these two places have good resources and are well-known. The university town in Quanzhou has always been in concept. In addition, Quanzhou's universities are scattered, so it is not easy to integrate and build a university town.
Ningde, Putian, and Zhangzhou, which are both coastal cities, have much fewer colleges and universities than Fuxiaquan. Ningde and Putian have one undergraduate and one junior college, which is seriously lacking. Zhangzhou is also in a weak position.
Longyan, Sanming, and Nanping located in the west and northwest of Fujian also occupy a small number. In urban development, talent is the key to sustainability. Most cities have successively launched their own talent plans, and cities with a large number of colleges and universities themselves have an advantage in the battle for "talent".
