Yousong University is located in Daejeon Guangyuan City, known as the "Silicon Valley" in South Korea and an important transportation hub. The school is affiliated to Yousong Academy, which was established in 1954. Yousong Academy is composed of Yousong University, Yousong Information University, Yousong Middle School and Yousong Kindergarten.
Yousong University is a four-year undergraduate university. It currently has 7 colleges: the School of Railway Logistics, SolBridge International Business School, SolBridge International Business School, Endicott International College, Future College, Software Integration College, Hotel, Catering and Cooking College, and Health and Welfare College, a total of 48 departments and 27 research institutes and affiliated institutions. Most majors have master's courses, and some majors have doctoral courses. Since its establishment, Yousong University has always adhered to the international, distinctive and practical talent training policy, adopted an unconventional, novel, unique and flexible teaching management model. It has been rated as an "Excellent University for Education Reform" by the Ministry of Education, Science and Technology of Korea many times, rated as "Excellent University for Industrial Education" by the Department of Characterized Education, and rated as an "Excellent University" by the Association of Korean University Education directly under the Ministry of Education, Science and Technology of Korea.
In 2010, Yousong University was selected as the "Most Innovative University" and "University Educational Power Strengthening Unit" by the Ministry of Education, Science and Technology of Korea, and won the prize of 3.23 billion Korean won in the Ministry of Education, Science and Technology of Korea. In the same year, Yousong University Confucius Institute won the "World Advanced Confucius Institute Award", and is also the only Korean university to win this honor in the year. In 2012, it was rated as an "Advanced University for Industry-Academic Cooperation" by the Ministry of Education, Science and Technology of Korea. It also successfully passed the certification and evaluation work of the Ministry of Education, Science and Technology of Korea on the enrollment and training of international students. It was certified as an "Excellent University for International Student Admission Management". Currently, there are only 26 undergraduate universities in South Korea that have passed this certification. In 2013 and 2014, it won the honorary title of "Top Ten Best Youth Dreams for the Best Universities" selected by East Asia Ilbo for two consecutive years. It was selected as a "Certified College for Foreign Student Management" by the Ministry of Education of South Korea. It stood out in the 2014 Ministry of Education assessment and received a total of 11.45 billion won in five years.
In 2015, the Ministry of Economic News, Future Creation Science, and Industrial Trade Support Department awarded the "Future Creation Business Award" for three consecutive years. In 2016, the Ministry of Future Creation Science, Industry Trade Resources, and Employment Labor Department awarded the "Dongya Ilbo Republic of Korea Talent Training Award" for three consecutive years. In 2017, the Ministry of Education of South Korea was selected as the "Updated Unit for Independent Innovation Capacity Improvement of Universities" and the "Updated Unit for Internationalization Capacity" by the Ministry of Education of South Korea. In 2018, it was named "Software Central University" by the Ministry of Science, Technology, Information and Communications of South Korea. In 2019, it was awarded the "2-cycle University Institutional Assessment Certification" of the Korean University Evaluation Institute of the Korean University Education Association. In 2020, it was named " Datian Circle Most Internationally Competitive University". In 2020, it was ranked as the "Top 50 Global" in WURI's World's Most Influential University Ranking. In 2022, it was selected as the "third-stage leading university for industry-university-research cooperation" by the Ministry of Education and the Korean Research Consortium, and received a total of 12 billion won in six years.
The current president of Yousong University Wu Decheng, graduated from the famous German Polytechnic University - Hannover University . He has served as a distinguished professor at the University of Dortmund in Germany, a professor of architecture at Chungnam University in South Korea, and a distinguished researcher at the University of Sheffield in the UK. Since 2011, he has served as a senior policy advisory committee member of the science and technology innovation department of UNESCO (UNESCO). He served as the president of Chungnam University, South Korea from 2016 to 2020.
Yosong University SolBridge International Business School is an international business school that teaches all English. It currently has nearly 40 professors from 16 countries and more than 1,200 students from 65 countries and regions around the world. The college won the "Second Asian Best Business School Title" at the 2nd Asian Business School Conference held by the SunTech Convention Center in Singapore in 2011, and was awarded the "Best Business School Leadership Award" of the World Education Association in 2012. After successfully obtaining the certification of AACSB (International Association of Business Schools) in May 2014, it passed a new round of evaluation in March 2019, and SolBridge once again obtained this certification. Currently, less than 5% of business schools in the world have obtained this elite certification, and only 10% of American universities have won this honor.
