On October 20, Hangzhou Dinglan Experimental Middle School held a special sports meeting - the campus farming sports meeting. The
competition event is very interesting, including water pick-up relay, grain transport, transplanting rice, peeling corn, etc., which simulates the entire process of crops from sowing to harvest. Before the competition began, teachers conducted a survey and about 90% of students had never been exposed to these programs.

Manpowered water carrying was an important part of field operations, but this seemingly simple job requires a huge amount of physical strength. In the water carrying competition, the students had to use a bamboo pole about one meter to lift two buckets of 20 kilograms of water and walk to the finish line 100 meters away.

The students carried shoulder poles, held the bucket with both hands, and walked carefully on the runway. In just one minute, everyone was sweating profusely and shouted, "It's so difficult!"

Several students surrounded the two-wheeled trucks for transporting grain. After the competition began, the students found that the seemingly stable two-wheeled trucks were different from what they imagined, and it was a big challenge to transport smoothly. In the

rice transplanting competition, students need to simulate rice transplanting on the foam board quickly and accurately.
But the results of transplanting rice seedlings are full of "too difficult", some are too dense, while others are tilted.

Finally, Master Shao, the consultant of the school roof farm, took the initiative to guide the students how to grasp the depth and consider the spacing during the transplanting process.
transplanting rice seedlings is not only a technical job, but also a strong job. Just by arching your waist and inserting the seedlings into the foam board, many students already feel their backs sore!

Plant a grain of millet in spring and harvest ten thousand seeds in autumn. The farming sports meeting finally ushered in the stage of harvesting results.
"Spitting Corn" activity officially started. Each of the 10 students has one corn, and who can peel the fastest competition?
Labor education lights up the background of growth. Hangzhou Dinglan Experimental Middle School designed the "1+1+x" home-school and social labor study manual as an important part of campus labor study. Based on theoretical knowledge, the school allows students to walk out of the classroom, put down their pen, pick up their hoes, and have thoughts and insights in experiencing farming. In the autumn harvest season, students experience the joy of harvest on campus, feel the farming culture, know that food is hard-won, and realize the importance of cherishing food. The school hopes that through such a form of labor study, every child can become a newcomer of the era who understands, knows, and loves labor.
